We were overall quite satisfied with this hotel. The room that was first assigned to us was a bit cold but the staff was helpful to move us to a different room.
We really enjoyed staying here. We are recommending it to our friends who might be travelling to this area.
Dined at the Idlewyld Inn on Monday, July 21, 2014. The food and service was excellent. Two of us had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection (medium rare and well done) The proscuitto wrapped salmon was thoroughly enjoyed by my aunt and the tilapia was melt in your mouth. Vegetables with the proper amount of crunch and the desserts......mmmmmmm. Try the homemade doughnuts withthe separate... more
Staff members were great. Room was freshly decorated and well-appointed. Will return again!
The stay was very pleasant. The staff was wonderful. I would have like to stay in a room that was more in keeping to the historic nature of the building. Our room was nice, quite contemporary, similar to a new hotel room. The food in the dining room was excellent. Overall I would recommend this place.
Beautifully restored older building with all the modern amenities.
This is a great hotel. The food was wonderful. The service was flawless.
The staff was outstanding and the accommodations were stellar. Went out of their way to make our special needs daughter's experience fun.
The Idlewyld Inn is Londons best kept secret. My husband and I are so glad we chose idlewyld as our wedding venue. Our guests still talk about the service, food and rooms at the idlewyld. With the help of Judy the on site coordinator our wedding was seamless from the first steps of planning right through to the morning after the wedding. Not only do I recommend the idlewyld to everyone but my... more
The Idlewyld Inn exceeded all of our expectations for our wedding day. There was really only one bump on the road in our wedding planning. The original Innkeeper, Scott, left the Idlewyld to move up north. Not all of the information he had collected from us was given on to another co-ordinator (not the innkeeper) after he had left.
Our first in-person meeting with the co-ordinator caused a bit...

We had a wonderful time and the service was great. They took care of a lot of things that made it very worry free for me. We are going to try and go back every year for our anniversary. The decor was fabulous and made for great pictures. I highly recommend Idlewyld Inn for any gathering.
We toured the Idlewyld Inn during the Open Houses weekend in London. It was a great tour - we saw common areas and got to walk through two of the rooms.
The hotel is in the middle of a residential area, a five minute drive from downtown. It is quiet and near the South Thames River.

Got a gift certificate for this place and was excited to visit London. Beatiful building on the outside. Common Areas delightful. Service - lackluster, staff not aware of certificate stipulations. Room was quite bare and boring compared. Broken furniture, and sneaky with their charges of EVERYTHING.
Lovely old home transformed into a boutique hotel. Not too far from downtown (a $10 cab ride), and so much nicer than the standard Hilton or Delta Armories.
A very nice little hotel in a gorgeous old building. Our king room was spacious, very comfortable and full of charm with lots of wood trim, shutters and fireplace. The bed was very comfortable. We had drinks and a bite to eat on the front porch which was a lovely spot. Only thing that is really not that great is the restaurant. The food is only "OK" given the high price and the service is slow... more

When we arrived at the hotel the first things we noticed how nice the garden was. The lobby was very nice as well if you like historical building . The staff was very helpful. The bed were comfortable. The hotel is located in a vey quiet neighbourhood.
We arrived late in the night, and yet were received with a smile and an offer of tea, which we accepted. The room was simple yet elegant and the bed soooooo comfortable. We also tried the restaurant which was a divine experience. We are great fans of inns and this is one of the best ever especially the client services. We will stay her again.
although pricey, the restaurant was excellent. Bedroom was quiet and comfortable
The basic requirement in any hotel room is that it be clean and quiet with comfortable bedding. In other words they must provide a good night's rest. This hotel does this very well. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. This is an older building with creaky stairs and classic decor. It has lots of style. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. I would recommend it.
I have literally stayed in dozens of places when I was working and traveling North America. This hotel is in the top tier of my stays. It was very very quiet. It is in a residential neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and courteous too. I would stay here again and again. My only regret wax that I was too rushed to partake of their food and beverage service. That was my mistake not theirs.... more

Aug 14th, 2013. Reasonable price. I had been travelling all over southern Ontario for work, and just came from Windsor - cold, sterile and bland but well presented food. Overall this was a nice place to stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. The lobby area and halls were a little more "worn" with older carpeting giving the place an "old carpet" odor, but the ambiance was charming. We enjoyed our one night at Idlewyld except for the blasting air conditioner. After we couldn't figure out how to turn it down we just got out blankets. The fantastic shower made up for it. My husband and I got the nicest room in the house, the master bedroom with a bay window. The room was very pleasant with old furniture and beautiful wooden shutters and great big bathroom. WIFI did not work. I was out of the room for 14 hours on the second day with the Maid Service sign clearly displayed and had no service at all
The staff were always smiling and sincerely wanted to help you anyway they could. The building and the room were absolutely beautiful and immaculate. Fine detail paid to every aspect, we will definitely be coming back for future romantic weekends away.
