Perfect Overnighter

Although dated, the room was clean and in good order. The hosts were very pleasant and helpfull. Perfect location for parking lot as it's surrounded by the hotel making it non-accessible from outsiders. Will return again. Thank you.

Cheap is more ways than 1

If you are looking for a cheap room in a great location than the hojo is great for that but the place is dirty. My buddy and I felt ill after being in the room for 2 days. It is as though there is mold behind the walls as his allergies went crazy on him the minute he walked in and lessened as we ventured outside. Our stay was the worst we've ever had in a hotel!

The staff was extremely rude and obsessive, the room was not clean, and the air conditioner did not work properly. No visitors past 10pm without a HUGE fee and they do wake you up in the middle of the night to check how many guests in your room. Felt like prison. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I will even be sending a complaint to the city and to Howard Johnson themselves.

Nice hotel downtown

I stayed at this hotel for 1 week in June 2014. I liked the motel style, with the car parked outside your door becuase I had to leave the romm and return with a lot of stuff. The rooms are quiet, in spite of people in rooms beside me.

Good value for a clean, comfortable, recently-decorated room in a great location right downtown. We stayed 2 weeks in January while house-hunting and had a very good experience. The free breakfast was a little underwhelming, but it's free. Staff were friendly and very receptive to any requests or concerns we had.

The area is kind of sketchy and the hotel feels really run down. That being said, it was cheap and located right downtown. If I have to go back to northbay for the night, I would probably stay purely out of price.

Great for an overnight stay

We were only in town staying for a north bay Centennials game, and this hotel was more than adequate for our needs. The rooms were clean and looked like they had been recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel is quite good. Not a fancy hotel by any stretch, but very good value for what you pay.

The room was very clean and it was just a couple of little things that I noticed. No plug for the bathroom sink; the room temperature was very hard to regulate; only 5 channels on the T.V. and packaged coffee with powder cream. This hotel is fine for a one or two night stay but no more.

Hotel With Good Amenities

I stayed one night with HOJONORTHBAY and I was satified with food, amenities and staff's courtsey and help. I will like to stay again at HOJO North Bay. I Had a peaceful sleep. got information about transit, food service locations, got a wake up call and was offered WiFi.
It was all at a reasonable cost.

Nice reasonable hotel close to downtown

I had a very nice stay of 3 nights at the Howard J. It has been recently bought by a new owner who is fixing it up room by room. My room was very clean and comfortable. He has strict rules about noise after 10 pm and I found it very quiet. The staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful when I needed help with learning how to work the internet and TV.

Good value for your dollar

Not a 5 star but good hotel to stay the night. Rooms were large, had fridge, TV and sofa. Shower area was small but again good enough for what we paid for. Would stay again for same amount.

Quite surprised! we had booked a room with a queen bed and when we checked in it was a king-size. The room was clean - looked like new carpet.Furnishing were nice and well maintained. Girl at front desk was rude. We had to call the 1-800 customer service number while standing at the front desk to find our reservations.

Budget hotel in sketchy area of the city

The outer appearance of the hotel was worn down. The hotel room itself was not very clean-the duvet (missing a duvet cover) was stained and there was dirt dust and hair on the borders of the floor in the main room ane bathroom. The walls were thin. They were not very accomodating as far as late check out and the complimentary breakfast had a very limited selection.

Howard Johnson North Bay was good value, but rather down-market. The free car park was an asset and the hotel was in a good central location with easy access to the waterfront. The free breakfast was a nice surprise.

The room itself was fine but the upkeep of the hallways was poor. Close to downtown but there are very few restaurants nearby. Greco's was an Italin restaurant that was a short walk and was quite good.

While on a move across the country we came across this Motel and found the staff friendly and kind. The room was comfortable and although the free breakfast was certainly not the best we've come across it did provide the basics. For it's value and cleanliness, we would recommend it.

came in and started putting everything away and it was only 9:30 am
which I found out to be rude didn't ask us if we wanted anything

An older hotel found on hotline.com rated a 3star but in reality it was more like a 1.5 or a 2 @ the most. Usually a 3 star rating is for a Holliday Inn....When we I opened the pullout bed their was allot of crumbs and food in the sheets.I m not comming back here
