The staff were unprofessional, rooms were dirty and the hotel presentation was not what it was when you got there.
No activities for my kids to do while we stayed for a week, the breakfast meals not fresh most morning no orange juice or milk not enough variety of cereals and when the room got cleaned the floor was still a mess and the bathroom never got washed.
The fact there are welfare people living there should say a lot. hallways were dirty, elevator sounded like it was falling apart - no joke, skivey surroundings. NEVER STAYING THERE AGAIN even if it was free.
Did not get the type of room I booked. It was very noisy out side my room. Will not go back to this hotel.
Breakfast area was too small, should have 2 waffle irons; waited 15 minutes. Perfectly fine for the price.
This hotel needs a major remodelling. My toilet was plugged. The room is not properly clean and the room smells bad.
I was not too happy, considering i was there for just one night. I have never stayed in any hotel that does not have bathroom rolls ready when the guest checks in. As if to add insult to injury there was a rationing of one roll (i am guessing per room), and to top it off, the washroom did not have the holder to stick/fix the roll in. Also the room smelt musty when i entered, and had to open the... more
i check out the same day, when to another hotel.was not comfortable with the guests.was told after it a shot tome hotel
The location is convenient but is in very shady part of the town. Old hotel with minimum maintenance. The carpet in the room was sticky so could not even take of my shoes. Has the basic amenities but would never go back
The hotel is on quite a busy street and close to many restaurants etc. Parking was sufficient. Staff were quite accommodating The elevator was slow but OK. Breakfast was sufficient but limited seating at tables. I had to wait. The food needed to be checked as by the time I got there around 8, there was little food there and those following didn't have much. I did tell the desk clerk. The rooms... more
Hotel was ok inside was clean but outside was dirty & smelly large bins full of rubbish etc. lots of unsavoury people hanging around the carpark would be a bit unnerving for some people.
The bathroom in our room had mold on the ceiling. The people staying in the back of the hotel make it look like a trailer park. There's cars running in the parking lot belonging to the long term guests. The staff was friendly but the place was disgusting. I wouldn't even stay there free.
Hotel was out of date, no swimming pool, no parking, breakfast wasnt very good..
Could use some repairs to the walls and ceiling in bathroom but other than that, a really good hotel for the price. Parking was good (and free) and there was plenty restaurants around and convenient stores. Stayed here last year as well for the same event, will stay again next year.
We brought our lap top, however we couldn't get any internet services. House keeping forgot to remove our trash. Staff and Hotel was ok.
Bathroom dreadfully lit and in poor condition. Beds very hard and no variety in pillow firmness. HVAC system had no labels so there was no way to determine was the setting were.
We stayed at this hotel on NYE as we did not want to take a cab all the way back to Toronto. The hotel is in a good location. The rooms needs some renovating. There were handprints on the ceiling in our room and the faucet was loose in the bathroom. The bed are pretty comfortable.
very rude desk clerk no parking on the weekend clerk told us to drive around for 30min then come back or park in shoppers drug mart across bussy street will never go BACK
My boyfriend and son were weary of using the toilet because it didnt flush really well. The complimentary breakfast was lousy. But the rooms were clean, so not much else I could ask for.
If I had know about the neighbourhood (nightime) - I would never have stayed at this location
walls are paper thin I was kept up all night by the people in the next room not very impressed by this hotel
Bedroom with king bed was large and comfortable but although I have a firm tight-top mattress at home yours was excessively hard and I had a poor night's sleep. Wash basin portion of bathroom too small (Room 405). TV not easy to use -- remote did not provide for "previous channel" so it was difficult to refer back to program guide, which in any case was too small and scrolled too quickly.... more
We paid a good price for King bed room for 1 night. However, non-smoking rooms should be non-smoking (as soon as we opened the door of our room - you could smell the smoke impregnated on the walls/curtains/carpet). Needs to be painted. Room was OK. The biggest problem was that we were on the same floor with a group of 20 year olds who kept going in and out of each others' rooms till the early... more
Friendly staff, clean rooms, walkable distance to convenient stores
I have seen the horrible Las Vegas hotels that are considered "cheap" and "dirty" such as Imperial Palace and I WOULD MUCH RATHER STAY AT THE IMPERIAL PALACE THAN TO EVER STAY IN THE HOWARD JOHNSON TORONTO WEST IN BRAMPTON, ONTARIO. Stay away!!!!! Take my advice.
The Motel ist far away from the city. You walk 20 minutes to the train station. The price for the ticket was so high, that we drove with our car into the city
There was no finishing around the tub faucet or shower head; they were just hanging out of the tile. Also, while the hotel is non-smoking, this must be a recent change because our room had definitely been smoked in.
we liked the waffle making machine for breakfast.
We wanted somewhere cheap to stay for a couple of days near Toronto. Hotel is pretty standard budget stuff, Continental Breakfast was pretty good (pastries, cereal and waffles). The hotel is a short drive from the GO station for travel into downtown Toronto. When we left the hotel we were halfway to NYC when we realized my wife had left her pillows behind. A quick phone call to the hotel and... more
i booked my hotel through hotel.ca. I asked for a microwave and fridge in the room and i didnt now get them.
Good pricing and excellent location but little service. However, you can't ask for too much for this price.
Clean Hotel, altough it looks a bit like a motel from the back side. choice of items for breakfast were limited but of good none the less.
The name of the hotel is Howard Johnson Toronto West. This couldn't be farther from the truth. It is 40 min from Toronto, so if you are looking for a hotel in Toronto like we were this is not the hotel for you!!! It is located in Brampton.
All in all, our stay was alright. Breakfast was good - cereal, juice, coffee, oatmeal, toast...normal fare. The room wreaked like cigarette smoke...I think it used to be a smoking room. Very strong smell. The bathroom fixtures were all in need of caulking - faucets, toilet, everything was coming off the wall! Service was friendly, wireless worked fine and TV channels were good. Beds were quite... more
The Hotel was under renovations, and some aspects very nice, but it was "bare bones" as far as amenities. The breakfast was basic, it would have been better with more selection; yogurts granola ect. Otherwise the beds were comfortable and the cleaning was good. An inexpensive stay.
When we first got in the hotel and tried to check in the lady at the desk was a trainee which isn't a problem at all, however the other lady training her was kind of rude with her which made us uncofortable. The first room we got in was a mess, no light bulbs in any of the lamps, toilet was broke, air conditioner did not work, and the room just stunk. For their defense, they did move us to a... more
The Ho Jo was a good deal for the money. The Staff was nice and friendly , but so were all the other people we met in Toronto. The continental breakfeast wasn't all that but with all the places to eat so close to the it wasn't a big deal. The hotels location is not very far from downtown Toronto, but with road closings and traffic it can take almost an hour to get there. How ever for the price,... more
Incredible little hotel for the price. More in room conveniences than plug outlets. Even supplied mouthwash with the expected shampoo and conditioner, Room was a little cramped as was the parking. < 5 mins to Hi way 410. Everything you might need is within walking distance. Need a cheap place to crash close to Toronto? This is it.
Clean and comfortable but older fixtures and fittings and unfortunatley over an hour in the traffic from the University
Short drive to Airport & Toronto subway system @ Kipling station. Free WiFi & breakfast.
This was the worst hotel i have ever been in. It takes forever for you to check in cause the staff workers are really slow and are handeling other compliants from the guests. From the moment we got there we saw some unhappy guests. The rooms smelled like smoke and the elevators were not working so my family had to used stairs. we had to change rooms three times. It was horriable. The location... more
Elevators not working. Hot water not in service until the following day. For two days, they just cleaned the bathroom and not the room. Vending machine not working. Scanner not working either. Lamps in the room did not work, therefore it was dark. Parking crowded one day. A party going on that was really loud. Not worth it at all. Staff was not helpful, either.
This roach motel was labeled as a 3 1/2 star hotel. What a joke! It smelled like a dirty ashtray & the photos online must have been from a different place. I would highly recommend not paying a dime to stay here. It should be condemned like the rest of the boulevard it's located on. Absolutely disgusting!
I stayed in this hotel for three days.Overall it was a satisfying experience. The Breakfast was good.Service was good. I look forward to staying there next trip.
