Good experience overall Special his for the staff , very dedicated and kind and patient
Good 2 day stay in Québec! Room was very comfortable, breakfast was fine, great service all around, very happy that parking was included. It is was a nice walk to the old part of the city but more like a 45 minutes walk.
This is the second time staying at this hotel, in fact the second time in the exact same room. The room was large with 3 beds, large bathroom. Very comfortable and clean. It is not super fancy but a good bang for the buck. It is no more then 10 minutes to the old city. The staff is very friendly and very helpful with any request or questions. It offers a continental breakfast that is always... plus
Grand stationnement gratuit.
Arrived late to a very warm welcome great value for money .
This is a very nice little (50 room) hotel on the outskirts of Quebec. It is right on a bus line which takes you downtown for an all day pass for only $7.50 (you cannot park in the old city for $7.50!) The front desk staff (Katherine, Jacques and Katherine) were very helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are small but clean. I suggest you ask for a room on the first as there is no elevator. We will stay... plus
For the price it is a a very good deal!! Near everything. Nice pool and nice staff
It was fine, Pool was fantastic. It had everything you needed and was clean enough. Very helpful and friendly staff. It was affordable.
We stayed because had no other option. I agree with some of the previous reviews that the basement rooms should not be used.
This was my second stay at this hotel. Most hotels in Quebec city are in Old Quebec and are either very expensive or low quality. Hôtel du Nord is a solid quality hotel, and well worth it if you don't mind walking a bit or driving to Old Quebec for the sights. I did the walk a few times, it's pleasant and the neighborhood in between is interesting. Parking behind the hotel is easy with in/out.... plus
Very friendly staff. Rooms are little small but clean. Bathroom very small. It is a good 30 minute walk to downtown. Breakfast is good and lots of parking.
Ok but the person in charge of this hotel was loud and rude.
Not sure about past reviews... seemed a little odd to me. Remember to check in at an earlier time, no matter where you're staying! Hotel du Nord made sure our trip was as pleasant as can be! Upon arriving, smiling staff, no hassle registration and a well-cleaned room! We initially noticed that our shower's cold setting was broken, and when we brought it up to the concierge, he bumped us up to a... plus
Good place to stay. Rooms on the small side. About a 30-35 Min. Walk to St. Jean's gate. Clean and staff very good.
Let me start by saying that hotel wasn't what we expected. There was nothing wrong with it, the price was great, the service from the front desk was exceptional, and the free morning breakfast was fine. I got two rooms, and both were in the basement, the first room was in the back corner and the other as in the middle. The room in the middle was good, nothing wrong with it and very comfortable.... plus
The room was simple with specious bathroom, and it was very clean and comfortable. The city bus (#1) takes you to Old City about 15 minutes and the bus stop is around the corner. I had problem to connect WiFi when I came in but it was fixed immediately after I reported. The breakfast was also simple, continental breakfast, but had some variety with bread and the coffee was very good! The staffs... plus
Spent 3 nights at this hotel within walking distance to Vieux Quebec. Booked directly on their website. Most of the hotel was reserved for the construction holidays, we took a small room and were expecting to get a double bed. Turned out to be a Queen which was a plus.

The hotel is very close to Old Quebec city, 30-minute walk only. It was fun not taking the car or bus to explore the city. We reserved a room online based on the pictures shown on the website, ended up with a small basement room with dirty bath towels. Room is kind of small. Free parking and breakfast is perfect. Not walking distance from Old Quebac.
Disappointment for the money paid. Would not return again.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds comfortable.
The hotel is so old. The staff was pleasent but the atmosphere was horrible. The walk to old Quebec was about 45min away. If going there make sure you request a room with a garden view we had the first floor and the view was our parking lot. Asked to be changed no more rooms and the breakfast was toast and cereal every day. Would not stay here again
Excellent stay at Hotel Nord. Staff are really helpful & pleasant. Breakfast is continental style but great variety. Very convenient bus #1 takes you from hotel pretty much into city center. Free ice, wifi, breakfast, clean rooms and great showers - couldn't ask for more.
Had a great stay in Quebec city. And my stay at Hotel du Nord was definetely a good part of it. The very friendly staff helped out with all of my questions (and they do seem to have a great sense of humour as well, btw). The room was nice and comfortable. personnel très accueillant.
We booked a deluxe room with 2 queen beds and got 2 double beds and definitely not deluxe! Upon arriving, we were offered a room in the basement or on the 3rd floor. Overall I am quite satified with the conditions and cleanliness of this hotel. My only complain was that we had to carry luggages to 3rd floor using stair as there is no elevator. Would recommend this hotel to others though.
Stayed here two nights with friends. Enjoyed the pool which I think was salt water and chlorinated. Its not big but was lucky to have the pool to myself. Safety good, most things locked well. Free parking, free WI-FI , free breakfast, large room with kitchen. The desk staff was awesome. Catherine B. is the best. It's a little bit far away from old Quebec by foot but it's really near the bus stop.

This hotel was great. Not right in the heart of things, but close enough to walk and about half the price of others. It has a really great salt water pool in the basement, and a free decent breakfast every day. It's simple, but cheap and their staff were very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Also Chez Phuc the restaurant close by is great food at good prices!
Old and rustic yet clean and comfortable. Our three rooms on main floor were large and quiet. One room had table with four chairs and one room had fridge. Staff was friendly and helpful and bi-lingual was greatly appreciated. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only complaint is the lack of ventilation. It was incredibly muggy and uncomfortable in the room just from a shower.
Generally, I prefer to spend less on airfare and hotels and more on gifts, attractions, food, and things to do. I chose Hotel du Nord for many reasons, one of them including its cost. The rooms are clean and very fairly priced. The staff are mostly bilingual and very willing to help out.

Because we didn't plan to spend a ton of time in the hotel we needed a place that was easy to get to, inexpensive, clean, and safe. Hotel Du Nord was all of these things, for sure.

OK to stay - rooms tidy and service friendly. You get a good idea of the variety of the city when you walk into old town compared to staying in the very touristy old town as such. It got a swimmingpool which surprises for the category.
This hotel was just okay - staff was polite, the rooms are small (more like a European size basic room with the bed occupying most of the space and a very small bathroom), the tv didn't work, the tap dripped in the bathroom, the salt-water pool was fine.
