Restaurant and bar are terrible. Asked for a Martini. Bar didn't know what that was. Had to describe it. They didn't have any dry vermouth. Then ordered a hamburger. Lousy hamburger with a wilted salad served by a surly waiter that slapped the food down in front of me and walked away without asking me if I needed anything. Gee like maybe some catsup and napkins?

Excellent hotel. Quiet, close to essentials, free wifi, clean. A really nice place to stay and a good restaurant. We stayed here on the way to the Rockies and then again on the way back. Both times were very good.

Very clean, comfortable

Close to a good reasonable Chinese restaurant and grocery stores. Staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Close to Kamloops Marathon start and finish line

I was kind of distracted due to staying for the night before the Kamloops Marathon. The location is great for the race, though. The pool was nice, although a tad cooler than I like. The staff was really friendly and informative. This an average hotel, maybe a bit pricey for what it is.

Not impressed with public areas

Gym, pool area, elevator and hallways not clean. Towels floating in pool and hot tub.

For a newer hotel...

We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had to leave before 7 am to be on a flight at 645 so we were not able to use our credit for breakfast in the restaurant which was disappointing. The tap and backslash in the washroom were not washed. We were woken up twice during the night by the dog next door barking. Other than that the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

Close to shops, restaurants etc

I decided to stay here after staying at other Holiday Inns on our travels. Wasn't sure what to expect, but it suited us (family) and I would stay here again. Just needed to stay longer next time.

Clean and Comfortable

The Holiday Inn is a really clean and comfortable hotel with good service. The price is definitely OK!

Booked the king suite for a family of four and the room was pretty spacious and clean. The sofa bed was comfortable and the kids had no complaints. Locations is really great because this hotel is walking distance from a library, grocery store, YMCA facility and several fast food and Asian food eateries. Pool needs attention

Comfortable rooms, good restaurant, but the pool facility was a big disappointment; very small compared to the online photo and the water was filthy, our daughter is a seasoned swimmer but didn't want to put her head in. The surrounding floor was dirty and the washroom dirty too. Don't book this hotel if you want a nice pool facility.

kamlooops holiday inn review

The rooms were nice. Pool is big and water warm. Easily accessible ice machines. Please change the Air conditioner. Loud. That is only thing I could find against .. Nice selection of restaurants nearby. I have stayed/stay in hotels quite often. I have decided to book onlt holiday inns from now on for leisure trips.

Wonderful stay

The hotel was excellent, the cleanliness of the rooms impressive. We booked short notice and needed a pet friendly room, the person at the front desk did everything she could to help out. They have a dog run which is very impressive. I would definitely stay there again. Very happy with our stay.

We did not get much sleep the night before our departure as a family with young children was placed in a room above us. They were up and very noisy past midnight and up again at 5:00am. Maybe main floor would be more suitable for young families travelling with infants and toddlers.

The room has high quality furniture, very clean. But the mattress is a little on the firm side for me.

Not sure why the other review are 3-4 stars. I didn't find anything wrong with the hotel. As the other reviews said, the hotel is close to a river, parks, mall, grocery store and much more. There is a library right in front if the hotel.

I stayed there with my family. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Note that for parking, you need to put a paper on the dashboard.

We were only there for one night, but found that it was everything we expected. Clean room and comfortable bed in a new or very well kept building.

They were changing TV and internet providers and after the switch the internet was slow and the TV channel selection was very minimal. On the good side the pool and hot tub were awsome

Typical hotel room. Everything done well. Had a fridge which is always a little "extra" that I appreciate these days.

A little bit of Luxury

We had to drop off our son at the Kamloops Viarail station, which is only about 7 km away from the hotel. The hotel is spotless, the beds are comfortable and the sheets clean and fresh (no yucky hotel comforters). You get free WIFI (got a passcode without having to ask), the addition of the White Spot Restaurant is great, and if you need breakfast before 7 AM like we did, there is a Denny's... more

Short but very comforting

Close to family on North Shore

Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was very pleasant and polite. Will stay again when visiting family. Only negative was the heating system. Found it difficult to find a comfortable temperature and the heater was noisy when cutting in and out.

Clean, comfortable and great staff

My flight got cancelled and they were kind enough to ask the shuttle to come get me and take me to the greyhound - far beyond the distance to the airport and TRULY made a difference in my day. Really enjoyed my stay as well - lovely hotel.

great stop over

Last minute change in travel due to weather. Had to find a pet friendly hotel at the last minute. Great location and accommodated our dog....even an enclosed run area for him. Great value

had everything needed

i was using the airport the next morning. The shuttle was timely, and made my stay seamless. The ropom was clean and comfortable, and the reastaurant Whitespot had tasty food options

Good value for the money

After arriving on New Years Eve in mud-evening, we were welcomed by warm friendly staff who would, no doubt, rather have been elsewhere celebrating. A great haven after a long, cold and treacherous drive.

A little hard to find but worth it

Arrived at the hotel on New Years Eve and even though the restaurant was to close less than an hour after we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms. The staff were very friendly and helpful.. The only downside is the difficulty in finding the place, even using a GPS. Not the hotel's fault - just the way the city streets are layer out.

This hotel is fairly new and well maintained. We really didn't spend much time in the room, but it got the job done. The beds were comfortable, and you can choose between a firm or soft pillow. That's a nice touch! There was plenty of parking, a pool, and a bar attached to the hotel. Free parking as well.

beds where not that comfortable and the air conditioner was noisy

Hotel basic and not in a very good area

Room was small and basic. Not really very clean there were marks on the bedding and the small kitchen area needed to be cleaned before you could use it. We paid a lot for the room as we had a two queen suite, I was very disappointed with the accommodation and Kamloops. There are no nice restaurants in the area we ended up eating at Dennys!!! We left the next morning as soon as we got up.

Overall a great room and hotel. Just wish they offered tea in addition to the coffee in the room.

Great Hotel

We only stayed here for one night and had a pet friendly room with our black labrador. The room was very clean and comfy, very well maintained. We had a lovely little kitchenette and a little seated area with table. We especially liked the fact that there was a little fenced in garden area for the doggies as there is very little around the hotel in order to walk the dogs. We weren't impressed... more

Found hotel good in all respectes except it was a little way out of town. That said, I certainly would stay there again depending on the price.

Good, but not perfect.

Hotel was good, the only thing is when set up the room we asked for a crib upon arrival it was not there. Had to call for one. Also with having little ones the TV did not work properly the colour was off when told front desk about it they told us to try something instead of having someone come and check it out. Plus we didn't want to get the blame for breaking it, or the charge.

Lovely hotel, but a little hard to find. Great check-in. Plenty of space in bathroom for stuff. Free parking. Spacious room, fridge and micro.

Fresh smelling and very clean, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in kamloops

My stay was excellent! I am extremely fussy about cleanliness and found my room to be superbly clean --- not just the sheets but the blankets and bedspreads were also fresh and clean!! I was impressed! Housekeeping staff should be acknowledged for their great work! Front desk staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful and I will certainly return to this beautiful new hotel!

Good value

Welcoming, informing staff. Good sized, quiet rooms. Pool doesn't close till 11pm which was great after a long day in the car. Dined on site, pub food.

I stayed here with my partner the last week in June. It is a nice place, very new and clean.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful. Towels were fluffy.
The beds and pillows are the stars of the show though. They have soft and firm to choose from and I always have a good nights sleep.

I wish I had known they had a pool before I went, it looked very inviting in the kamloops... more
