Excellent Hotel

I stayed 4 nights at the the excellent Holiday Inn Express on MacLeod Trail. My room was large and comfortable, clean and quiet! The staff were always pleasant and helpful and the breakfast offerings were plentiful and well presented. An excellent stay!

Clean and Spacious

Stayed here with my family last weekend. The room is huge and very clean. The breakfast was the usual cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The parking lot was full but management allowed us to park in 'no parking' spot. Will stay here again.

Good for a week

I attended a course at the hotel. The breakfast is served in the restaurant and menu is not very varied, the gym is small but good and well maintained and the location is facilitated because of a train station 300 meters behind the hotel.

We moved to the Area

We just recently moved to Calgary and want to stay close to where our home was located. We were waiting for our furniture. They were very accommodating. Thing close by with in walking distance to do. Exceeded most expectations

We stayed with a large group (67 rooms) for a corporate function. The rooms weren't huge or fancy (we had two double beds which I haven't seen in a hotel in a long time) but they were clean and furnishings were current. Free wifi was nice too.

Clean and comfortable place. Average Holiday Inn. The pool area was clean with towels. The only thing is that the housekeeping knocked to the door at 8:00, don't forget to place your sign. We asked to leave at 12:00 instead of 11:00 and the accepted.

Like some other reviewers I ended up at this hotel because the downtown hotels were full. It is a huge challenge to navigate luggage up and down the flights of stairs. We stayed here by accident. I booked the wrong hotel. Thought this was further south but it's in an industrial area close to downtown.
Lobby is functional.
Be prepared to climb stairs with your luggage as elevator didn't go from lobby to our floor. I can't lift so this could have been a problem had I been alone.

Has pros and cons but mostly pros

The split stairwell to get to the room was not a bonus - and NO continental breakfast ( a rarity at this chain) was another no but much much better than some other options on Macleod Trail. Clean, and they put a fridge in when I asked so a good choice for Chinook Mall area.

The location is superb, only steps from the C-train station. Was close to both downtown and 17th Avenue. Rooms were clean and quiet, plenty of hot water. Was most disappointed by the absense of a hot tub in the pool area.
