Very good hotel and near to train station that will go to downton and all parts of calgary city. Hotel was very comfort and wifi is good.
I thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and comfortable room. I was pleased to find pillows like I see at Holiday Inn Express locations (my preference) - not the half-length, overstuffed pillows that I usually see at Holiday Inns.
I slept very well - the bed was comfortable, the heater/air conditioner was quiet. Shower worked very well. The sink area is a...

I stayed 4 nights at the the excellent Holiday Inn Express on MacLeod Trail. My room was large and comfortable, clean and quiet! The staff were always pleasant and helpful and the breakfast offerings were plentiful and well presented. An excellent stay!
Stayed here with my family last weekend. The room is huge and very clean. The breakfast was the usual cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The parking lot was full but management allowed us to park in 'no parking' spot. Will stay here again.
Our family was here for four nights
and on one night there was one person screaming and banging on doors. My son heard this guy swearing for a while in the hallway until the police showed up. When I brought this up the next day with the front desk he ask me. Why I didn't go look into what was...

Great stay as always at the Holiday Inn on MacLeod. The front desk staff was so friendly and attentive! I had forgotten some toiletry items at home, as I usually do on a trip, and the manager of the hotel actually went and brought some items to the room for me (Thanks Haniso!!).
The room was spotless, and so was...

You can never go wrong with the Holiday Inn brand! The staffs in the hotel, from their front desk agents, to restaurant servers, to housekeeping ladies, all of them are very friendly and attentive. They always have a smile on their face and acknowledged me every time I walked by. The building is laid out a little differently, but still... more
I attended a course at the hotel. The breakfast is served in the restaurant and menu is not very varied, the gym is small but good and well maintained and the location is facilitated because of a train station 300 meters behind the hotel.
We just recently moved to Calgary and want to stay close to where our home was located. We were waiting for our furniture. They were very accommodating. Thing close by with in walking distance to do. Plus the have a water slide which my kids loved. Great hot breakfast what more could you ask for. Everything wAs clean and presentable.... more
Stayed here with my daughters basketball team while they competed in Provincials. It was close to the school we played at. The rooms where on the smaller side but still well taken care of. The wifi was always running, and didn't really hear any outside noise. We had dinner in the restaurant there and the food was good and reasonably... more
This place is great for a short stay. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. However, the fitness center needs to be updated. The machines were a little out dated. The treadmills wobbled and the cross trainer was the only adequate machine there. Although the food in the restaurant was great, it was a little over priced. I... more
We booked our hotel and thought it would be a great hotel as most Holiday Inns are. We walked in and the lobby was nice and the Olympics where on in the lounge, so we went there for a drink and loved the waitress.
We went back to our room and couldn't find the control for the heat register, it...

The layout is confusing, lots of stairs. No assistance with luggage. Dining is excellent, check in staff were accomodating, wifi is great. rooms are decent. parking is kinda of shady, you can hear the lrt behind you
We stayed with a large group (67 rooms) for a corporate function. The rooms weren't huge or fancy (we had two double beds which I haven't seen in a hotel in a long time) but they were clean and furnishings were current. Free wifi was nice too.
We dined in the on site restaurant for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their...

Clean and comfortable place. Average Holiday Inn. The pool area was clean with towels. The only thing is that the housekeeping knocked to the door at 8:00, don't forget to place your sign. We asked to leave at 12:00 instead of 11:00 and the accepted.
Stayed here for a few nights and the hotel itself is clean and the front desk staff is really nice, although I found the rooms to be a little on the small side.
The real issue with this place is the parking lot. The spots are too small, it's very busy, and the place is filled with "hosers" -- go...

Came over from england on holiday to see friends out here and stayed for 4 nights. Room was good and wifi was fast although would have liked a few more good channels on the tv.
Ordered room service quite a bit, food was ok but could have been more choice on the dinner menu. Prices were reasonable. All room service...

Spent 1 night here recently on a business trip. I picked it since it was relatively close to my meeting. The front reception was receptive and friendly. I requested a late check out and was given 1PM which was fine with me as I wanted to change clothes after my meeting. Getting to the room is somewhat disjointed without an... more
I spent 3 nights on a business trip @ the Holiday Inn. It is conveniently located on the Macleod Trail South with plenty of free of charge parking space. The entrance level contains the lobby and the restaurant and the rooms are located one floor up and down. The rooms are in standard size. They had a good selection of... more
I traveled to Calgary for a funeral. It was a last minute booking & last minute trip - you just can plan for these things.
The hotel was convenient to the funeral home.
Despite it being last minute, the staff greeted me warmly and with lots of smiles.
The room was well appointed and very clean.
Staff made the visit...

The best thing about this hotel is the courteous and attentive staff. The hotel itself has an odd design, no elevator in lobby makes it difficult to get to your room. The room was clean and acceptable given the hotel's target market. My room was located next to an ice machine which was quite noisy, wasn't an issue for me,... more
I concur with the others that a guest elevator or ramp would be nice, but the stairs are fairly easy to navigate. The service is outstanding - especially the waiting staff int he restaurant. I was struggling with some bags and a maintenance man asked if he could help me. Wonderful! A great location close to C-Train and Chinook shopping... more
This is a standard three star property. The room was clean and adequate. The outstanding part about this hotel is the service. From the front desk to the service staff to the restaurant staff everybody went out of their way for you. Reviews of this hotel mention the stairs but they were few and not a problem for me. This... more
Like some other reviewers I ended up at this hotel because the downtown hotels were full. It is a huge challenge to navigate luggage up and down the flights of stairs. Who builds a hotel without a guest elevator? However, on the positive side both the front desk and restaurant staff were great. They really went out of their way... more
I have stayed at this holiday inn several times, and have always enjoyed it. The stairs are an issue (maybe a ramp at the side door by the pool would help get people to the elevator easier)
This trip I was pleasantly surprised by the offer to prepay breakfast and get $20 worth of food for $10. And once there...

I ended up here because downtown hotels were booked. I was pleasantly surprised by this modest well-kept hotel with friendly staff.
A good option for biz travellers if downtown is booked as it's only a 20 min taxi ride downtown & approx $10 each way.
Our daughter got married here in June, 2011 as most of us live out of town and this hotel is so easy to find. Many of our family members stayed for the weekend and we would gladly stay again and again. We have stayed at this hotel before and while it is a little dated - the rooms are large, clean and very quiet - be sure to ask for a room away from the train and you will be fine. It is well situated to the Stampede grounds and parking is plentiful.

We stayed here by accident. I booked the wrong hotel. Thought this was further south but it's in an industrial area close to downtown.

4 of us stayed here in September, 2013 for 8 nights while on business. A bit of a glitch checking in as we were assigned 2 rooms with only 1, small, bed. The front desk staff tried to blame Priceline for the room assignment. But tell me, 8 days, 4 persons on Macleod Trail South and it isn't Stampede week,... more
We stayed here end of Aug 2013. Found the rooms to be nice and large. BUT, to get to the room required going up and down stairs. Was quite difficult with our luggage. I was also disappointed to learn that there was no breakfast included. It seems that Holiday Inns that are "Express Hotel & Suites" provide breakfast, but a... more
We stayed at this Holiday Inn for 5 days around our son's wedding. (We had been displaced from our home due to flooding.) The staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating. I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Macleod Trail in Calgary at the end of August, 2013. The room was comfortable enough, and I thought the "firm" and "soft" tags on the pillows was a nice touch. There were some small (barely noticeable) stains on the bed sheets, but the room and bathroom were clean besides that.

What a pleasure this hotel is to stay at. From the front desk staff to the dining room and lounge staff, it is obvious this is a well run hotel. I also use the banquet facilities, which again are well run and Rina the Catering Sales Manager is a pleasure to deal with. I travel extensively and rarely find such... more
We were allocated a comfortable suite, and had booked on a B&B basis. The breakfast voucher was adequate. Good breakfast and dinner menus. Staff were very friendly both in the restaurant and on the front desk.

This hotel was clean, but rooms are quite small, the pool was great, but it is overpriced for what you get. No continental breakfast, though there is a restaurant on site and the food was okay there. I would not stay there again unless they brought their price down. We paid 171.28 average per night. Not worth that at all........ more
A perfect location for getting to the Calgary Stampede - just one or two stops on the light rail system from the showground depending on which entrance you want to use. The light rail station is just at the bottom of the parking lot of the hotel and so makes the whole of Calgary downtown easily accessible day or night.... more
Well you've probably guessed that the reason we stayed at the Macleod Trail Holiday Inn was because we went to the Calgary Stampede. And as a location for that it was perfect. We chose this hotel for its accessibility for the Calgary Stampede, and we were spot on as right out the back is the Metro station and it was one stop to the Stampede. I was here on 2 occasions in June for 3 nights each. These were my first visits to this particular IHG property. Overall it's pretty standard HI in terms of interior appearance and amenities. Whenever I am in Calgary on business, this is my favourite hotel to stay at. The staff is friendly and the hotel is very clean. There are several restaurants near the hotel and there is a large shopping mall just a few minutes away.

We chose the hotel because of a good location for a visit the ice hockey game of Calgary Flames. You don't need to go to Saddledome by car it's just 2 stops with a tram from this hotel. But it's not a good position for a downtown visit.Rooms are clean and good. There's also a pool.
I stayed here 3 nights for the 2013 Calgary Expo. I was apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews but The Holiday Inn was better than expected. I've stayed at this property 3 times now and all-in-all it's probably one of the better hotels in the area. The split stairwell to get to the room was not a bonus - and NO continental breakfast ( a rarity at this chain) was another no but much much better than some other options on Macleod Trail. Clean, and they put a fridge in when I asked so a good choice for Chinook Mall area.
Business trip with a four night stay at the Holiday Inn on Macleod Trail, early April of 2013. What was most impressive was the staff, the front desk and restaurant staff. good location, good value, I would stay here again
I really liked the pool to enjoy in the evening!Their location is just great: close to C-Train station, shopping center and restaurants of all types around the corner!
The location is superb, only steps from the C-train station. Was close to both downtown and 17th Avenue. Rooms were clean and quiet, plenty of hot water. Was most disappointed by the absense of a hot tub in the pool area.
We stayed at the Westin downtown and found the Holiday Inn McLeod Trail to be just as nice.
Good value for the price. Close to everything. Pool was nice..
