My partner and I stayed at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure for one night over the New Year's holiday, and overall, this hotel is basically the straw that broke the camels back that made me switch my hotel loyalty from Hilton to Starwood.

The goods:
- Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. There was always someone around to help you out - whether you needed directions or someone to help you with your bags.
- Location, location, location! The hotel was right above the Bonaventure Metro station and just a short walk away to... plus

I wish there is a 3.5 stars. I actually LOVE the hotel, and it would have got a 4 or 5 for me. I especially like the pool, it is great to be able to swim under the stars! Like the fact that it does not decorated like a chain hotel, even Hilton is a chain. It has a boutique hotel feel to it.

As far as service is concern, some staffs are good and some staffs are just so so.

-Located right above the Bonaventure Metro station
-Despite being above the subway, you don't hear anything as you are 30 levels above.

This hotel perplexes me, it takes up a whole (and half) floor of the Bonaventure building, location is very central but you can only go up to the lobby from one side of the building. It would work if the building was really tall, but it is not.

I booked this Hilton using my credit card points so I was unable to use my Diamond status. However, at around $350 for the entire weekend, I was more than willing to use points. Well this place is nice and sweet. There are a few faults that I did not enjoy on a "Valentines Weekend" At 6am the next morning, someone decides to shovel snow off the roof. I did not enjoy waking up that early. When I called an complain, they did not know what I was talking about. We had a wonderful overnight stay! Our first visit to Montreal, we wanted to be in walking distance to Old Montreal, the underground maze, and downtown Montreal. All staff at the Hilton Bonaventure were bilingual enough, and eager, to be extremely helpful.

Could Be Better

Old Brutalist architectural style hotel that could use a refresh. Garden is unique with ducks and fish in the water, but it's dirty and uninspiring. Pool is a great feature, though. Room #1209 was very large and faced east. It's set back from the edge of the building and outside the window was a drab-looking 4 feet of small rocks and a hook for window cleaning that was leaning against the wall.... plus

You can leave your car at the hotel and use local transit to get anywhere downtown. When making a reservation make sure to ask them what kid of deal they can give you. I have saved some bucks by just asking.

Wonderful location

Heated pool so we could go swimming in -20 degree winter weather? The hotel is on the roof of the building and has some gorgeous views.  The room was a nice size and the bed comfy.  The staff was also friendly.My only complaints are that there was no wireless in the rooms and I had to carry luggage up and down a few stairs to get to and from the room.I would certainly return if I'm in the area again.

Cozy, Cordial & Fun

Despite an old, warehouse type of appearance, no doubt due to the many conferences taking place in this centrally located facility, the place was actually very cheery,comfy, clean and secure. And I loved the well maintained, warm spacious pool! Staff were also top notch.

Wonderful Stay!

Bed was so comfortable and great sheets! Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and willing to help. The pool was probably the best feature of this hotel. A must see!

Great Location

The Hotel Bonadventure was a plus for us. We came to Montreal from NYC on the Amtrak train, and the hotel is right above the train station. Very odd place for a hotel. It is the top two floors of an office building. It is indeed right on the Underground which you might have trouble navigating on Sundays. The location was very good. Few minutes away from everything from Chinatown, shopping malls, touristic attractions to the Old Montreal. The room was clean and good space for work. I think that the wireless internet service should be free.

Comfortable.

Some early problems upon checkin--safe was broken and AC was not functioning properly. Staff was unapolegetic, but did solve the problems. I feel they should not have happened. Bed was comfortable but room was small and bathroom was not up to par for price. Overall, staff was pleasant and helpful. However, there was a ministrike with employees that impacted our stay.
