This is a great venue for all events. Best in Atlantic Canada!! Tattoo hockey basketball skating concerts public events and they're all great seats. Connected by walkways and tunnels to Old Halifax
the Downside
Seats are soft and old, food is bad and they pour short draughts!!
Where's the easy parking?
I've been to 200+ concerts, in a variety of cities, in variety of venues both small and large and this is by far the worst venue of them all. I've been to approximately 10 concerts here and the acoustics are atrocious with the sound hitting you from all sides. The seats are uncomfortable. The sight lines are horrible in the... more
Have attended several Tattoos and curling competitions here. Comfortable seating and excellent views. Can avoid climbing hills if staying at Cambridge (excellent packages). Lots of stairs to washrooms!
Stayed nearby and was able to walk there easily. Located near the Citadel and easily found. If walking from the waterfront it is an uphill battle for us old folks. Food available inside like any venue place - expensive. Depending upon on the venue it may be appropriate for you and your family.
The Centered is so central to the city. Easy access. It is a great size to accommodate large events. So excited about the Scotia Bank partnership and all its reno's to follow
What a great location for the 2014 Tatoo. Easy to get into and to exit from. all seats are good and facilities are well located
Just attended an event at the Metro Centre for the first time. It was smaller than I expected. Prices for drinks and food were the same as any large venue in Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto - over priced.
Located in the centre of downtown Halifax, this is the home to the local junior hockey team and basketball team, pays host to International Tattoo and many concerts throughout the year. It is the same building as the World Trade & Convention Centre and is connected with Scotia Square (including the parking lot), Prince George Hotel, Delta Barrington, Purdy's Wharf,... more
This is a nice location but it is dated. I believe there is plans to build a new facility and it is much needed.
Attended conference-easy to access. Close to everything downtown. One of the nicer convention experiences I have had.
Again I see this to many time and the Metro centre is not an attraction but a place where events take place. The stadium is getting old so I hope they have a replacement plan soon!!
I have been to many hockey arenas across the country and other than the NHL arenas this has to be the best arena complex in Canada! Seats just over 10,000 and the Haligonians really support their Mooseheads.
I was fortunate enough to be in Halifax during the QMJHL playoffs. We scored seats in the fourth row from the glass. An exceptional energy and a sold-out crowd. Great hockey. I was an instant fan! I love that ticket prices are the same in every seat of the arena. If you're visiting Halifax (at the right time of year)... more
It was an awesome experience when I went in March for a concert it was amazing , I wish I could go back
Enjoyed an evening at the Metro Centre taking in the hockey game our home town vs Mooseheads great service and excellent seats
We have attended several events here. (concerts, Mooseheads games, Tattoo etc.) The staff are always very helpful and attentive. There are several concession stands for food and drinks. They are a bit pricey but that is to be expected at a event venue like this. The washrooms are a bit outdated but have always been clean. Overall, a great place... more
Most of my visits have been for Mossehead games but I've been there for other sports, concerts and the Tattoo. I've seated in the lower bowl, upper bowl and in private boxes, and all viewed the floor with no distractions or obstructions. The place is perfect for the Moosehreads and bigger events but to big for the basketball games.
There...

I just got back from a business trip to Halifax. This is a Great little town, with a history to match. We took a bus from our Hotel out near the airport. The bus stop was right out front and it cost a dollor twenty-five to downtown. Once we got there we ffound the city very easy to walk and... more
This is a good event location. It is centrally located and within walking distance of almost everything. The staff are friendly and helpful going the extra mile for special requests. Seats are reasonably comfortable. There are event fees and the length of time spent vary based on the event. and Enjoy yourself
No better a facility to watch Canada's rock band. Great sightlines for concerts and its resident hockey team the Halifax Mooseheads.
The Metro centre is an unusual place in the arena world! From the outside, it is almost difficult to spot it as it's 'arena shape' is lost amongst the buildings added on to it.
Inside, the arena area itself is pretty much generic - in that it is constructed to hold an ice rink and then all subsequent events are...

We are lucky to have this venue in Halifax. It isn't huge (no comparison to the Air Canada Centre) but it isn't tiny either. It's a great place for concerts and hockey games. The facility is clean and the staff are all professional. I have never had a bad experience here and hope to enjoy many more concerts/basketball games/hockey games... more
Rainy/foggy day and nothing to do? Take a trek to the Metro Centre and visit the NS Sports Hall of Fame. Being huge Sidney Crosby fans, this was a must see. We were happy to see a whole section was dedicated to Sid - from his baby bottle to his mom's dryer he practised taking shots on. The Hall is... more
what i liked the most for that one time occasion is that it was really hot outside near 35C
once inside the place was cool and stayed cool during the whole show even with thousand of people in there.
Very interesting. Plenty of exhibits and admission free. Mooseheads shop there too - limited opening hours. Allow about an hour.
I've been the Halifax Metro Centre for concerts, hockey games, the Tattoo, and other events. The venue is big enough to accommodate an event with a larger following, but small enough that there really are no "bad" seats.
Game 2 of the final series. Great atmosphere, but ridiculous line ups at the bathrooms and concessions. I dont know how they cant fix these problems
Rarely a bad view, no matter where you sit
Great spot for a well produced concert, although I understand that much of that credit goes to the production team from away. Seating was good. The washrooms were not great. The place was confusing, but he staff were helpful and friendly.
The Metro Centre always delivers the excitement! I was in-house for the Mooseheads' first two games of the President's Cup Final vs. Baie-Comeau, and it was a great time with the best fans in Junior hockey!
The Metrocentre hosts sports events, concerts, Broadway shows, etc., with good sight lines for everything, and the sound system is excellent.
Frequent here for Halifax Mooseheads games. Lots of food and beverage options, but keep in mind, the prices for such things are inflated! (As they are everywhere like this)
Building accessible from many directions, which helps give you lots of parking options.
Check out a game or event, you won't be disappointed!
The Metro Centre just turned 35, and it seems as good today as it did in 1978.
Whether you go to see the Moposeheads or AUS basketball...you should enjoy yourself.
I went here for several different concerts over the years and it just seems to be going downhill. I went to the Tragically Hip concert this month and I had the gold circle ticket which included a laminated pass which you were suppose to get at the door going in. When I asked the guy at the door when he... more
The Metro Centre has a ton of space, great service, equipment and various size rooms for any event your company wishes to host. Located directly between Grand Parade Park and Citadel Hill....lots to do and see
I've been to a couple Mooseheads games and Halifax hockey fans make for a great atmosphere. The venue isn't perfect and the washrooms are the worst part of the experience, since they are cramped and don't seem to have the capacity to match the stadium's requirements. Beyond that though, it has a good location, with plenty of nearby parking and... more
We were a group of ten that had booked with Blue Diamond Tours 6 months before our arrival. On the day we arrived on our cruise ship, our guide had a miscommunication that resulted in him only having 8 seats for our group. Needless to say, we were not happy with how the tour started. After being on the tour... more
Had great seats and it was well organized. The seats were comfortable and Flo Rida actually walked down the steps right beside out seats.
It's difficult to decide what I'm rating by rating the Metro Centre. Am I rating the venue on its own merit, or am I rating my experience at an event? I decided to go with the venue itself, as it's no fault of the venue if the entertainment is lacking.
I mainly go to the Metro Centre to watch the...

On July 4, 2012 we two Americans saw this year's "Tattoo" held at the Metro Centre in Halifax. URL: www.nstattoo.ca. This year's theme including a centenial memory of the sinking of the Titanic (1912) and the bicentenial of the... more
I enjoy going to the Halifax Metro Center, whether it's a Moosehead's Hockey Game, Concert, or the International Tattoo. The temperature is always comfortable, and there's enough space to walk around and get a snack at intermission. If I could make a suggestion, it would be healthier food choices at the snack stations- currently it's only pizza, popcorn, burgers, etc. It would be nice to grab a... more
serves it's purpose in that it can hold concerts, sporting events and special events, but it's getting old.
I come here quite often for concerts. I've seen the tattoo here once before. Its not a huge arena but it is a great place for concerts. The only thing I dont like is there are several entrances so if you are going to a general admission concert and want the front, it can be hard with so many ways... more
watch concert,it was teraffict awesome we enjoy a lot ,comforatble chairs,,and was huge palce in side,,nice to hocky aswell,,
Took in the Royal Nova scotia International Tattoo.
What a wonderful experience
I still love to walk up to the entrance with ticket and hand, itching to get through and see the ice surface and hear the noise of the crowd, just as I did when I was a kid. I've seen many hockey games there and take my kids their regularly to see the Mooseheads play. The very last time I... more
No back to his stage and he played to everyone! An amazing concert and sound was perfect.
I like how you can turn it into anything, basketball, concert, rink, etc. :)
Great location, floor staff really helpful. Property very clean.
I get a kick out of being a tourist – I grew up near Grand Bend, the tourist capital of the Lake Huron shoreline (I was going to say Southern Ontario, but it’s not quite as touristry as Niagara Falls.) I spent my summers at various jobs waiting on tourists, and let’s face it; some of those tourists were not... more
Went to see Il Divo - it's a perfect place for performances.
Went to a Bryan Adams concert....other than the drinks being over priced the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Considering its age and location, it's a good venue for sports (go Moose!), events (like the Tattoo), and concerts (although the sound and setup aren't always ideal). The online ticket services offered through ticketatlantic.com could be improved, and they could diversify their concession stands, but overall I think the Metro Centre is starting to catch up with the needs of its patrons.... more

The Metro Center, with a capacity of 10,000, is home to junior hockey's Mooseheads and full to the rafters when the team is on ice. The center plays host to any number of large events: championship figure skating, basketball, and, in September, at least one NHL pre-season game. If sports are not your idea of a good time, don't despair, because concerts of all shapes and sizes occur throughout... more
