Our small hotel is in the middle the famous Robson Street, just steps away from great shopping and dining. All within walking distance to Stanley Park, BC Place, Rogers Arena, Canada Place, English Bay, and most Vancouver attractions. Friendly front desk staff are available 24hours a day to assist you with every aspect of your trip, from planning tours, dinner reservations and any...

I made a reservation on line and mistakely booked time for a week instead of 1 day and then another day. After i realized my mistake, when i got to the hotel that night (yes, same day reservation), they said that they would not refund my money. Okay - had to have somewhere to stay, no choice, catching a plane the next morning - went to room - it was 90 degrees in the room and no way to cool it... more
Good hotel for the price. We were there for a 5-night stay.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
The location is very convenient, right on Robson Street with plenty of
restaurants to choose from and not a long walk to the heart of downtown.
Public buses stops nearby and across the street is the Big Bus tour pickup point.
Since this was a converted apartment building, the guestrooms...

My boyfriend and I have stayed at almost all of the hotels in downtown Vancouver - everything from the "high end" to the "bottom of the barrel". I would consider this hotel to be on the nicer end of the low scale: clean, no frills, decently sized rooms
We stayed here middle of September, 2014. When we got here I was pleasantly surprised by the front desk/lobby area which has been nicely...

The hotel is located in a very convenient area and the service is amazing. The staff is very friendly and is a good price. It gives the feeling of a small hotel buy cozy and with the basic requirements to spend a good vacation and explore one of the most interesting places in Vancouver.
This hotel has location going for it. Great rates for an average hotel. We didn't expect the amenities they had to offer with appartment style living. Nice to have a kitchen. The place is a bit outdated but clean. Not that we spent much time in our room anyways. Stay here!
Was a little disappointed key card stopped working several times, had to ask for kitchen utensils although its a full kitchen set up. Breakfast consists of toast and coffee. Not much type of ventelation, feels " stuffy"
Location is excellent!!!!! Close to everything.
We stayed there while we were renovating our place. The location is absolutely brilliant. The rooms are a little dated and show their age, but VERY clean. To our surprise they had complimentary breakfast. I would definitely be staying there again.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Greenbrier's as the location met our requirement as did the room's kitchen feature. This in my opinion is an average hotel that could be so much better. The front desk was always manned with helpful and pleasant staff. We had to request bedding for the sofa beds (we had two rooms for our party... more
Close to lots of eat houses and shopping, rooms nice and large with full kitchen, the area felt very safe to us like you could go out at night, very easy to find, staff where very helpful when needed. Also ha guest laundry
I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is great. Being on Robson, you're right by stores and restaurants, Stanley Park, and much more. There was no safe to put my valuables, however I would likely stay here again.
Hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were very accomodating when we requested a kettle or some cutlery etc. had a one bed room room and it was huge! Good value for money, no lift but that was fine for two 23 year olds! Separate lounge and kitchen and decent sized bathroom. Good location too, close to Stanley Park... more
We've stayed at this hotel many times before and found that this time it wasn't as good as it had been. We were there in the shoulder season and paid more for a room that wasn't a one bedroom than we did for a one bedroom when we stayed previously (apparently there was a lot happening in Vancouver that weekend).... more
Hotel located in great location close to restaurants and shopping. The room is large with kitchen, etc... Although all these features, room was not as neat as expected nor pleasant. It could be so much more.... but it's ok if you are on a budget. The continental breakfast is limited, but complimentary.
This was a great location, close to restaurants and shopping. And the bus system as well. The room was very large and if you need a kitchen, it's a good size too. The continental breakfast is a bit skimpy, but included. I recommend this hotel.
At such a small cost, why cut back on breakfast? If not for that we would stay at your hotel every year. The year before, (2013) was nice choices for morning meal. The location was perfect for the places we wanted to visit.
The hotel was very well located. You could walk pretty much everywhere. We received a free upgrade and we were quite please with the extra space. Continental breakfast did not have very much selection, but it was free! Great value!
prefect location and spacey rooms. Will be back again for sure. Staff where very accommodating. Centeraly located to everything. Transport was accessible. Restaurants where around the corner. Family friendly.
I stayed at the Greenbrier Hotel 10 days ago with my sister. We had been looking for a middle of the range, clean & tidy hotel in a good location Downtown Vancouver. I think we found it with this hotel. Great location on Robson St, further down the road, near the corner of Denham St, lots of great restaurants too.... more
I forgot my luggage at the hotel. The service staffs helped sending it back to me. Although It took almost two weeks for the process, I finally received my luggage with good condition. Thank you for the good service.
Definitely a great place to stay for a good good price! The rooms are spacious, clean and have kitchens! Which is very budget friendly when staying downtown Vancouver. Also, it turns out the hotel offers complimentary light breakfast: toast, jam, peanut butter, coffee etc. The location works out perfectly as well. If you walk one block up, you hit a number of busy shops and end up in downtown... more
The Greenbrier has rather a faded elegance about it - it must have been quite a lovely hotel in earlier days - but it's a little worn around the edges, now. However, rooms have been upgraded with new carpet, paint, bathroom furnishings, etc., and it's a homey and quiet place to stay; and it's VERY good value given the huge... more
We were impressed with the space offered at the Greenbrier. While not the most modern hotel, we couldn't fault the cleanliness and presentation of our room. It was also surprisingly quiet given its location. We only stayed overnight as we were en-route to our next destination but the suite would have definitely been comfortable for a much longer stay. It's... more
If you are looking for a clean place JUST to sleep and shower, than this is your hotel. They missed my wake-call by 25 minutes causing me to frantically get ready but thank God I didn't have a flight to catch. If you are looking for something not too expensive in downtown, that's a good choiche.
The hotel is neither elegant or beautiful, but the ratio quality price is high.
I also had a kitchen in my room, this can help you to save more money, being able to cook your own food.
Very good value. Clean, super friendly staff, right in the middle of everything in a very safe and walkable neighbourhood. I stayed at the bacck of the building and it was extremely quiet. Although it wasn't very new, it was everything I needed, and more.
We booked this hotel through Hotwire's "secret hot rate hotels" option for $46.72/night plus taxes. We stayed for a week which came to $403.24 after taxes - pretty reasonable for a "room" which included a living room with a pull out couch, bedroom, kitchen with a stove and fridge and washroom.
The check in staff were all friendly and accommodating....

We were happy to have a kitchen in the room. Whole Foods was just a few blocks away, so we could eat fruits and vegetables and cook healthy food during our stay. Perfect location! The included breakfast was excellent too!
Disappointing, since found via Air B&B and NOT described as a Hotel of apartments, which it is, and rather a basic one at that. Room fine (has a sitting room and kitchen - use not encouraged), breakfast basic ‘continental’. Not a room one would want to relax in - no view, rather dark. Location was OK - within a walk... more
We had booked two rooms for September 2013 through Booking.com. If you are looking for a budget hotel that is within walking distance to many of Vancouver's attractions then Greenbrier is for you. Great location. This is a rather shabby suite hotel in the West End of Vancouver. The location is great-on a main commercial street with shops and restaurants and only a short 10 minute walk to Stanley Park. This is not a 5*hotel, but then it never tries to be. The rooms are dated and a little worn, but are clean and comfortable. free complimentary breakfast was ok. It ad coffee, tea, toast, scones, muffins and croissants.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was ok, with a kitchenette.
We give this hotel 4 stars for the price and the facilities.
We chose to stay in town after a wedding and got the Greenbrier using a discounted hotel booking site. Never heard of the hotel, but I did see that it had decent ratings. I called earlier in the evening to let them know that we were checking in late and staff was courteous when I called and when I checked... more
Everyone seems upset that there is no a/c, but even though I was there on a pretty warm day, this was not a problem. There was adequate ventilation with windows open. The location is great with many good restaurants and even a Whole Foods within walking distance. Stanley Park is also a short walk away and a great place to... more
I'm picky about AC, because sometimes I can't sleep all night when its too hot.
I can't believe a hotel in downtown Vancouver can charge over $100 a night and not have air conditioning. It was only 15 degrees at night, so we opened the windows and got a nice cool breeze. But windows only help so much.

Booked this hotel, and it never stated anywhere that there is no A/C. If you want air circulation you have to have your windows open. Upon arrival they charged extra... more
This was my first trip to Vancouver and my first interaction with the hotel staff was through their excellent directions on how to get to the hotel. I couldn't have asked for more friendly and helpful staff during my stay here. There were no elevators, and I've got a bad back, so they kindly offered to bring my case up to my room, up 3 flights of stairs.

Great deal for the price. Greenbrier is in the mix of everything in downtown Vancouver and is an incredible deal. The staff is incredibly friendly (even for Canada!) and the rooms are large and clean. I'll be staying here when I visit from now on. Front desk clerk Amanda was particularly nice.
My wife and I had a fantastic experience at the Greenbrier. The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, walking distance to everything. The staff is fantastic (especially Amanda) and were incredibly courteous and friendly, even for Canada! The rooms are large and comfortable, though not luxurious. But the room is clean, the place is nice, and the price is fantastic. There was no AC in our... more

I recently stayed at the Greenbrier for 2 nights on a family trip - my Aunt was getting married just around the corner so it was a good location. We stayed at the Greenbrier Hotel for 4 nights early May 2013. It was a very cheap option, and one of the few places we could find that would allow our 3 children to stay with us in the room.

The cons are that there's no elevator or AC. We were there in April so no need for AC. Breakfast was included but simple ( tea, coffe and juice)... more
We loved Robson Street and the West End so the location of this hotel was perfect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was a bit run down. The smell of mildew was present during our entire stay though that may be due to the constant moist weather. Still, they could have benefited from using Febreze on a regular basis. The housekeeping staff though friendly was... more
Although the Greenbrier has a simple look from the outside, the rooms are very clean and spacious, and ours had an amazing view of Coal Harbour. Great location but only good hotel-wise in terms of finishings/bedding, it's not 4-star but more than adequate. Corner lot, 3 storey level. Renovated for the Olympics.

Incredibly spacious, friendly staff, great location and even better price. I have no complaints about this hotel other than the parking which is difficult if you have a truck. I stayed there for 3 nights in september. The hotel just located middle of downtown vancouver. Many bars and classy restaurants just 2 blocks away from the hotel.
Especially hotel stuff are super friendly.
I advise Greenbrier if you look for a large room and comfy propety with lots of lovely stuff
We stayed in an apartment/suite and while it was very basic, it was good enough. I recently stayed at the Greenbrier Hotel for four nights when visiting my daughter. I made my reservation with some trepidation because a number of post 2009 reviews gave it a bad rating. However after staying at many other hotels in Vancouver over the past three years I thought I would give it a try.

I my view is this a hotel with good value for the price.
On Friday morning, I didn't have any hot water so I asked to be moved at the end of the day. They moved me under the condition I would pack my things right then and there which risked me being late for my day. On Saturday morning, I didn't have a blow dryer that worked (there were 2 in the room) and my bathroom sink wasn't draining. I spoke to 2 staff members asking that I be compensated for... more
The staff was excellent; Manuel in particular was most helpful. The hotel shows its age in ways but is very well-kept. The suites are of good size and comfortable. I stayed in the beautiful Greenbrier Hotel for one night and I wished I could have stayed longer. The room was fantastic, it was worth paying a little extra for the Executive Suite. The staff was the most over-the-top friendly front-desk I've ever experienced. I will definitely stay there again.
I am glad I did not take heed to bad reviews on this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel given some of the other reviews. If the staff on reception had been slightly more accommodating I think we would have loved this hotel. We were looking for a relative inexpensive hotel for a family on a budget. The Greenbriar meet those needs, but it is not the hotel for people looking for pampering. Unfortunately Robson street is pretty noisy until after midnight. The... more
To start with they didn't have our booking so I had to forward my confirmation email to them. There is no lift but thank goodness we were only on the first floor.Apart from the above the location was central, the staff were excellent and our room was very quiet so we got a good nights sleep at a very good price.
So sad. I was really pulling for this place. This time, though.... a bit shambolic. Twits behind the front desk, no follow-through with things we requested (basics - like "can the room safe work, please?" and "can the room have heat, please?"), nothing in the little kitchen but 4 plates, and when we requested a saucepan, that is all we got - no spoon or spatula or silverware or even an... more
Its inexpensive and spacious. The linens are clean. They are super friendly and accomodating. Some downfalls for me were that the bathroom and "living room" area had an odd smell (like old damnpness & urine). I think this was due to wet furniture and/or wet cloth shower curtains. Also, the "pillow top mattress" has this plastic cover or something, and when I moved it made noise which was not... more
We were upgraded to deluxe suite, however to our horror the room was dated, no AC, facing the street and very noisy, shower was a trickle of cold water and no microwave, utensils or silverware in the attached kitchenette. If this is not convincing enough, other reasons not to go include no elevators & no bell boys(we had to haul our luggage to 3rd floor ourselves), people do not answer the... more
Problem #1 - Immediately upon arriving, lobby was stuffy, carpet was very worn with cigarette burn marks.Problem #2 - Room was exceptionally hot - only way to control air temperature was to open or close the window.Problem #3 - No foodOnly good thing was the sheets were clean.
Much cleaner now, perhaps I have lowered my expectation with all the comments posted here... however, they do have great, helpful and friendly staffs. My flight is tomorrow 10pm and I have to check out at 11am, so I'm thinking of leaving my one of my bags with them and go walk about at Stanley Park... when I called the reception to confirm, the new lady staff told me "Sorry, we do not have such... more
This hotel was clean and the staff were VERY FRIENDLY and helpful, but I don't think the stay was worth the price. I really got a lot more than I expected for the price. It was a junior suite...which really equated to a one bedroom apt. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It was an absolutely great location, friendly and helpful staff, and the room was clean and modern.
Hotel is right on Robson Street, midway between the streets of Burrard and Denman. Ideal location with many restaurants nearby. For a fee, secure and covered parking is provided. My only real gripe was that there was... more
The staff was uniformly friendly and engaged in what they do no matter what time of the day or night they were on duty. The rooms were fine and competently maintained. We chose a hotel to fit our "recession honeymoon" and this was beyond a great match! When we arrived, the staff was immediately helpful and upgraded us to a suite. Spacious rooms, reasonable rates, great views, and an amazing location make the Greenbrier Hotel an ideal choice when visiting Vancouver. When I first moved to Vancouver, I stayed at the Greenbrier Hotel. Definitely recommend.
the hotel was ok structurally. it stunk like p@!s, there were cigarette burns on the bedsheets, carpet, window sil, shower curtain, and toilet seat. I had a great view of the bong store across the street. oh, and the room was supposed to be a reasonable $130, but i just found an extra $100 charge on my bank statement. I am generally fairly open minded when I travel and accepting that not all hotels are created equal. However, this hotel was a NIGHTMARE.

The only thing I was upset was when I put my money in and the laundromat ate my money! hahah... but totally going there I would so go back. If you like something cozy and nice to the shops I suggest going here, and I found it to be clean!
My family and I was in Vancouver for the day and decided to stay the night. We wanted to be near Robson Street so we thought that Greenbrier Hotel would be the right hotel, we were wrong.
