Great food, great service, great atmosphere. The Granary is classically simple and refined all at once. The prime rib is a specialty that's amazing. Highly recommended.
Decided to go because of my wife's birthday, plus we hadn't been here for quite some time. We had a party of 8 and most of us ordered different menu items. We had fish (salmon), prime rib, chicken (feta with sun dried tomatoes and apple pecan Brie), steak (sirloin Oscar)and pasta (garlic linguini - special for the night) 3 of... more
My wife, our daughter and sister in law had a reunion dinner here on April 15th, 2014. They were in good spirits and happy to see each other again. When the food arrived it took a bit of the edge off the gathering. The Sirloin steaks were basically too tough to eat so they decided to just carry on with... more
Ate at 6:30pm April 6. We have eaten here many other times, but this time we were disappointed.
Went with a craving for the prime rib which is usually really good. The 8oz with 2 large shrimps was the special for $30. A baked potato came along as well as bread. Did not have the salad wagon which would have...

Very yummy prime rib.... It was super tender and juicy. The waiter was very nice and attentive to our needs.
My only reason for not giving it 5 stars though is that I wish they had used a bit of a dry rub or seasoning on the prime rib to give it a nice crust. Would have made the steak much better.
Came to Granary based upon reviews on other food websites because we had a hankering for some prime rib.
We had to wait about 20-25 minutes on a Friday night, but got a booth, so we were happy with that. Decor is cute, and the ambience is nice. Our waiter was polite, courteous and attentive. Ended up ordering 8oz prime rib, and added an all-you-can-eat salad bar for 30 bucks. Slightly pricy,...

I have never had a bad meal here. Service is sometimes a little inattentive if they are socializing... this comes from their need to always hire young staff... not that it is bad but sometimes they are too busy seeing what they look like or who is talking to another server... Bought over $300 in gift cards for clients at... more
I remember when the Granary was the place to go for a little fancier meal. Now it still has the higher prices but the food is just average, the service was awful and the atmosphere just wasn't what it used to be.
The Granary is precisely what it seems to be -- a mid-range, friendly, efficient and decent place for a sit down. It is not fancy or pretentious. The food is okay without being great -- even their signature prime rib is fine without being spectacular. The garlic potatoes are better at home and the caesar salad is kind of pro... more
You will never be disappointed going here! The food and service is always fantastic! It's a nice place for a quick date night or an enjoying night out! Absolutely recommended!
we went here on a date and ordered the salad wagon and steak sandwiches, the salad wagon was so yummy (wheat salad is the best)
The waiter was nice (blond young man with longer hair)
The problem was the food. At $22 you're not going to get the best steak in the world, but this one was not great. It...

I'm in Saskatoon several times a year on business and always make a point of dining here. I will make a point next time of booking a reservation in advance in the dining room. The bar area is nice enough, but the place is popular and it is busy and noisier than the dining area. I really wish they would... more
Repeat visit tonight. This place is definitely getting busier and more popular. Ate at the bar to avoid a 20 minute wait for the table.
Good place, I'd say what makes it above average is the meat, service and the salad wagon. They have this fantastic salad bar/wagon which you may partake of as a meal (around $12) or with...

Excellent. All five of us enjoyed the meals, impeccable service, superb environment. I recommend the pickerel !
We booked a table to celebrate meeting our friend who lives in Saskatoon and who had not previously been to this restaurant. The reports on TA were good so we went for it.
We were given a comfy booth in the middle of the restaurant and were well looked after by friendly staff.
The food was excellent but the ambient...

Great place to go with friends, family, business or date. I went there when I was young and it is still good now. It too expensive though, they should lower prices. Otherwise a 5 out of 5
Have stayed true to what they started as, nice restaurant with good food. Still hold true today. Always a good experience.
We love the salad bar at the Granary and the food is always predictably good. The ambiance is also very good. Prices are getting a bit high but the restaurant still is full most nights.
We had a reservation for 7 and 8 showed up, they accommodated us no problem. Service was good and the meal was good. They have a good variety of choices. I would suggest to ask for your salad dressing on the side of you don't like a lot of dressing.
I would recommend this restaurant no problem.
We visit the Granary lounge regulary on Monday evenings when they offer a great steak sandwich, done to perfection with a choice of sides at a great price. Always our go to spot!
Had a very nice Prime Rib and Caesar Salad. Similar to a Steak & Ale in many ways, though a brighter, lighter interior. The mashed potatoes were very good, but I bet the baked potato would have been larger.
What is call a step up from the standard Prairie steakhouse. What I mean by that is real lettuce for the salad, not the pasty iceberg stuff. Staff always look classy and are attentive and have food knowledge. Good wines a step above. Beef is always great. Price point keeps most of the kiddos away, which makes for nice business... more
Dined here for a business dinner. We came during the week and it wasn't too busy, which was nice for a casual dinner experience that wasn't rushed.
The patio was very nice and just far enough off of 8th street for a quiet experience.
The service was great, friendly and informative. You can't ask for much more.
Value wise, I...

The appetizers are superb and the prime rib is without a doubt the best i have ever had. The service was beyond excellent and without a doubt I highly recommend it and would go there again and again.
Went to The Granary for Peanut Butter Pie on Saturday night. The waitress was excellent and gave us superb service even though we were just there for a drink and dessert. Be sure to leave room for the Peanut Butter Pie if you go for a meal. Outstanding!
Meet to buddies on Saturday at 5pm.
Ended up starting in the lounge to catch some of the hockey games n ended up eating there.
We started by sharing orders of calamari n bacon wrapped scallops.
Calamari was done in a nice breading n NOT over done! The scallops I was not a fan of as they were cooked too...

We took my sons hockey team there for dinner. The service was excellent, the food was great, and the atmosphere was terrific. I appreciated how the management accommodated our large group to show Canadian Easterners some prairie hospitality. Best prime rib ever.
Overall it was a relatively good experience. The food was OK, and the value could have been better. The staff were excellent, very good service and super friendly.
The Granary has a nice Saskatchewan feel to it with the decor and the design of the outside of the building. The menu has a great selection and the food is really quite good. My biggest complaint would be the salad bar and its lack of anything that looks appealing or different. Its a very basic salad bar and with... more
Kind of in a tucked away location but the food is great and it's nice a quiet for a more intimate meal.
The food and service is first class! The atmosphere is very pleasant with a good amount of privacy. The staff is very helpful and can help you decide between all the delicious items on the menu. The food is well prepared and always delicious. They also have a nice selection of good wine and cocktails. Remember you get what you... more
Went for an anniversary party and was not disappointed. Service was excellent and although the prices are a little high the food was well prepared and worth it.
Was there during Christmas party season, and won't do that on purpose again,
was too busy, staff too preoccupied with themselves (bar), and food not exceptional.
Problem was , this was the only mediocre experience I've had there in the last 15 years,
which was the date of the last debacle we had there..... admittedly we only average 3x per...

When we made the reservation for 8:00p.m. on the 28th of December, we were told that the kitchen closed at 11.p.m. We were happy to take our sons out for our annual holiday dinner to the Granary on that evening. The salad bar had very little to choose from as they were closing it down for the evening Our waiter... more
Typically our office has used the Granary for six of our last Christmas suppers. Each year has been a wonderful taste treat! It has resulted in many of us going their to dine on our own. Food selection is wonderful, salad wagon is fresh and plentiful and offers a good variety. You could dine on it alone. The main courses... more
This was my first trip to The Granary in a long time and I'm thinking it might be a while before we give it another try. Portions are small and reminiscent of what you might find at The Bonanza Restaurant down the street. In fact I've this very same meal for 12.95 in Vegas once or twice. The Salmon was... more
yes, it is a Christmas season and yes it was a Friday night, but we couldn't help but feel a little rushed for our group. We had an early reservation(530) and we also had too large of a table set-up so visiting was difficult except for the couple people near us.
The food was timely and good as always, steaks...

My friends rave about how great this place is, we went and I was underwhelmed. Got a prime Rib it was so-so. The meal was just ok. Sides were lukewarm. Wouldn't bother going back.
Stuck in the Mushrooms Neptune rut. Wow, I could eat this like stuff like it was candy. Can you imagine a main course of that? Prime rib is nice... everytime. Current staff is quite polished. Since John's Prime Rib closed, I don't know where else to go. Does anyone have suggestions?
Been many times, love this place. Great food and great atmosphere. Excellent salad wagon as well. My only concern with this place is their prices. The prices seem to go up a little everytime I go, Just to be warned they are quite expensive and they are starting to gouge people a bit. I hope they don't get too greedy... more

My husband and I travelled from Regina to Saskatoon to celebrate our daughter's birthday at The Granary. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and well taken care of. The menu offers a strong option list with quality cooking. Fine dining in Saskatoon. Service is excellent, as is management and atmosphere.
We had dinner there last week and the food was great and the staff so friendly and helpful! The decor very pleasant! We will go there again, I'm sure!
As a group of 5 couples we enjoyed excellent entrees plus $4.50 salad wagon, had well prepared Casears, and yummy desserts. The atmosphere was fun and we had a few laughs with the staff. This Saskatoon restaurant is a sure bet for a perfect evening out for a special occasion.
We had a very good waiter who went that extra mile. The food was good as usual but having him there was an extra bonus. Nice young man.
This is a well-established restaurant in Saskatoon. I had a steak and shrimp; the steak was perfectly cooked. The best part is going to the salad wagon (just saying it is fun). There's a huge selection of salads and toppings, including some better cheeses. You could just eat that and have a very satisfying meal, but few a few dollars... more
This restaurant has stood the test of time. Excellent service and food for many years now. Convenient location and your appetite will be satisfied when you leave!
Granary is a Saskatoon "institution" that is a fine, large, family-style rest. The menu has not radically changed in many years, and the service I've received has been absolutely fine. The sale wagon is the best, consistent part of the menu, and overall it's a 6.8 out of 10.
We were visiting Saskatoon and my Dad and his lady friend insisted on takling my spouse and I out to the Granary. We had not dined here for some three years so we were looking forward to a nice meal in this restaurant decorated with old licence plates and many nostalgic items from the prairie life in Saskatchewan; this is... more
I have been visiting the Granary regularly for about 15 or more years. Over the last 3 years, I have started eating in the lounge or on the deck because I find it more relaxed and there are nightly specials.

The menu is extremely limited if you don't like seafood or mushrooms. I only had about four dishes to pick from and several in my group ended up doing the salad bar because of the limited options. This is one of the unique landmarks both esthetically and for dining. It was established by a famed, local restraunteur and is still owned by the family. I highly recommend it for excellent food, service and atmosphere.
Prices aren't cheap but food is outstanding. Come very hungry & try to save some room for their peanut butter pie. YUM!
This was my first time eating at this restaurant and it was fantastic! I had the lobster stuffed chicken and it was so delicious! The service was top notch! One of my new favorite places to eat in Saskatoon!
I had the blackened ribeye. It was bland. The salad bar was pretty good.
Welcome to the Granary, Saskatoon's favorite fine dining restaurant, featuring a wide variety of signature appetizers and entrees, and the best steak, prime rib and seafood in the province. Antiques and prairie memorabilia - plus genuinely friendly service - are yours when you dine at the Granary
The Granary features an old-fashioned prairie atmosphere and specializes in heritage style steak and prime rib. The restaurant's design replicates an old grain elevator and prairie memorabilia adorn the space. The chef takes pride in delivering meals that portray a distinctly Saskatoon interpretation. Friendly servers will graciously suggest wine pairings and desserts.
