We’ve been in twice this month. The first time we noticed a slight “fishy” smell, and didn’t recognize anyone.
We went back this week. When we walked in we were floored by the strong smell of rancid oil and rotting fish.
During this heat wave of mid-30C daily temperatures and 90+ % humidity – the A/C was off...”but we have...

I figure that any restaurant that manages to be closed on Sundays & Mondays must be doing fairly well the rest of the week. My husband that lived in the UK for many years raves about their fish. The batter is always just the right consistency and doesn't feel too greasy. My favourite is their Basa Fillet Fish. When you... more
I like how they give you the option of how you want your batter done~! The fries are okay....When we go...we just stick with the fish:)~
Love this place. Since there was a new owner a couple of years ago, fish much better and the batter is great. Like the fish I have eaten in UK. Probably because the owner is from there. The fish is on par with "The old York Fish and Chips" in Toronto, but costs a lot less.

Gotts is a place I grew up around. I used to go to Gotts alot actually, eventually even getting a -part time job working there as a teen. Nothing has changed much however the taste is not the same. While I used to be a huge Gotts fan... more
For 4 pieces of halibut, 2 sides of poutine and 2 cans of coke the bill was $50. It really wasn't that great. Save a couple of bucks and go to Heritage, the food is much better and not quite as expensive.
When in the Brampton area, for true British style fish & chips, you have to stop in at Gott’s on the corner of McLaughlin Road South & Queen Street West.
Their food is always cooked fresh while you wait, with 4 different batters to choose from.
You gotta get Gott’s !
Gott's Fish & Chips offers these services: bank, restaurant, fish and chips.
