If you're out on the town and have a craving for Chinese food, forget Singapore Sams which gets crazy busy, try out Golden Inn. No buffett, but they make really amazing food.
No matter where I am in the city, when a party night is over it's off to Golden Inn. They're open late (4am?) and have wicked good food. Always a busy place, but you can get a seat. Friendly staff that accommodate the rowdies at the end of the night.
We enjoy go to Golden Inn Restaurant for late night snacks or family gathering. The price you pay and the mount of you get is unbelievable. Beside the amount of food you get, the food is really good, service is well compare to other Chinese restaurant.
After reading all the amazing reviews I was a bit bummed after taking my order back and diving in.
I ordered Special Chow Mein, but the noodles were not chow mein noodles but rather fried glass/egg noodles? Very thin and loads of grease. The items mixed in were okay, seafood, chicken, beef, etc. but it was all a bit over cooked and there was next to no seasoning save for the grease it was...

Great food ! the people are nice, except the customers -_-
The fried rice is bomb !
This place is an old Calgary institution, I have been coming here for years and years, mainly after the bar on Fridays or Saturday nights, but since I don't stay out late anymore, I now do takeouts from here, it's still good as always, there is still an occasional Saturday night out where I end up here, the food to stay is always great, the common ginger beef, soups, but i love the crab, in... more
Wow.
It's Jan 1 and no restaurant is open...except all the restaurants in China town! The Golden Inn has always been a favorite and the food always fresh. I shouldn't be surprised how busy this place is but either all of Calgary is clued into the fact that no other restaurants are open or this place is that good. Maybe a little bit of both?
Here are my notes:
If you're starving and it's a...

All you need to know about Golden Inn is that it is golden (that was intentional) It's the perfect spot to hit up when you're craving some 2/3/4am (!!) Chinese goodness. My sis and I went here at 3am on a Friday night/Saturday if you want to get technical and the place was packed with an eclectic group of people. People were dressed up (partying for Halloween already?) from what looked like a... more
Best Peking style fillet mignon in calgary that I have tried. Other dishes are good also. Friendly staff and open late. Stop in for some people watching late night, it can be interesting.
Very nice. Love the meat and cheese plate, stratshi (sp), pizza and wine.
Great place to eat before going to the Saenger Theater!
We celebrated our daughter's 13th birthday here while in town on business. The service from start to finish was amazing. Highly recommend sharing the antipasto's & small plates so all of the outstanding dishes can be tasted - we loved burratta, chefs affettati misti, octopus carpaccio, risotto, squid ink pasta & crab, rabbit & porcini tagliatelle. Lots of locally sourced ingredients really come... more
Domenica's awesome pizzas and most drinks are all half price from 3-6 every day. My group of 4 enjoyed 3 pizzas and 6 cocktails for just $50 plus tip! Pizzas are great and they're served really quickly! Will definitely go back next time I'm in New Orleans!
The food at Domenica never disappoints. Vegetables get respect (the roasted cauliflower appetizer, or the side dish of fried lacinato kale), and every dish is perfectly executed. The affettati misti are beautifully presented on a long cutting board. Service can be slightly off (our main courses were delivered while we were still enjoying our appetizers). Yet, for an informal restaurant in New... more
Title says it all. Domenica is always interesting with plates that we love & new twists!! Brisket panini with onions & Gorgonzola, squid ink pasta with crabmeat, roasted cauliflower...oh my!!
Followed by blueberry & peach cake, affogato with mini doughnuts, & chocolate, lovers tartufo..wonderful family lunch!
With all the choices in New Orleans, this turned out to be a great one. The service was excellent. Every morsel of the meal was memorable. We ordered some meat as an antipasto and the savory beignets that accompanied them were unforgettable. What a fabulouse surprise. The salad was delicious. We both had pasta and they were both absolutely fresh and flavorful.
I have to admit I don't remember...

Great atmosphere and menu. Pizzas are a great deal and can be shared. Excellent and innovative options. I did not love the carrot pizza, but I applaud the idea. My main issues is that service was brusque and, as at many wood fire pizza places, centers of pizza do not get crisp enough.
A really energetic and enjoyable happy hour with a full menu, 1/2 price pizza, reasonable appetizers, and 1/2 price wine and well drinks.
This was a great meal, and a fantastic ambiance. So delicious and lots of options.
We celebrated my wife's birthday here, and the food was very good, the service was great, and the atmosphere was vibrant.
This was our 2nd time at Domenica and as we expected, everything was delicious! This restaurant offers such unique food combinations and just has that superior edge over others!
For the past three visits, I've ordered the simply prepared, fabulous chanterelle pasta. This time, doubled the chanterelle pleasure by ordering chanterelles and marrow on ciabatta as an app--we both swooned over it. The peach cake for dessert was wonderful although we usually forego dessert in anticipation of those addictive little chocolate cookies that come with the check.
Food was great. The Happy Hour menu ( 3pm-6pm ) is a good way to sample some of the kitchen's skills , not to mention great deal on the Pizza! The service was outstanding.
We really enjoyed the pizzas and beers and they were 1/2 price.
Very good and unique Italian food. My son loved the baked goat. The menu choices are limited and the wine list is mostly Italian (I prefer California wines.) The food is really tasty.
The food was excellent. The waitress missed a few things in our order and looked like a novice; but overall she was friendly and looked like she was trying hard. We had a table by the window on a Saturday evening and watched several wedding parties come and go from the Catholic Church across the street. Made for interesting people watching. The Roosevelt Hotel that the restaurant is in is... more
Dominica was a great spot for a business lunch. The food was healthy, delicious and locally sourced.
Outstanding food and service. Our party of 6 passed around and thoroughly enjoyed the arugula/beet salad, octopuss carpachio, kale, Cauliflour and Eggplant dishes, 2 pizzas, and the pasta rabbit ragu. The chocolate/hazzlenut mousse and the peach cake topped off the dinner.
I really enjoyed Dominica and will certainly go there again. We went for restaurant wee; two of has the Prix fixe menu and another ordered one of their pizzas. Everything we ordered was fantastic.
Dominica is a perfectly fine pizz restaurant. The food is good; the people nice.
I dont recommend and I will not return because they charge $18 for valet parking.
Can't get enough of their well prepared pizzas and tasty veggie side dishes (oh yeah...and there's the incredible house bread, decadent chocolate espresso cookies and just about everything else on the menu!). Service is always spot-on professional and polite. The kitchen goes to great length to facilitate food allergic diners, which is truly appreciated by this mother of a food-allergic son!
My husbandd and I had dinner here and we were both pleased with our choices. We started out with the roasted cauliflower appetizer, which was perfect. I would definitely recommend. I had a pasta dish, which was good and my husband had a lamb and pasta dish which he enjoyed. Portions were small compared to a lot of restaurants, but it was good not feeling overly full when leaving. The location... more
And in New Orleans, that's saying a lot. The food at Domenica is consistently superb: beautifully conceived, beautifully made, beautifully served. The waitstaff are engaging, attentive (without being overwhelming), very knowledgeable and very expert. The chef is not only superb at what he does, he is also unusually customer-oriented. We were encouraged by our waitstaff to email him for a recipe... more
Had wonderful pizza, wine & desert before going to Saenger. Busy & noisy, but fun.
My Italian friend had the eggplant and lasagna, I had the freshest whole snapper with a wonderful salad on it. Both heaven. Squash blossoms still so good.
They serve primarily Italian countryside cuisine, but offer g-free pasta! It is only one type of g-free noodle, but that is awesome! The waitress also suggested a g-free appetizer that is not on the lunch menu for us, that the kitchen would make for us. It was a delicious meal and I felt great being able to enjoy pasta again!
Wanted a local restaurant while staying at the Roosevelt Hotel. Who can beat a John Besh restaurant? Surprised it wasn't a "white tablecloth" restaurant, but was pleased with the food. Friendly and laid back. Dessert was to die for!!
It is the best. I wish more tourists knew about the takeout pizza from Domenica and would avoid Domino's a block away.
My husband and I visited Domenica during Restaurant Week and ate from their special prix fixe menu. 3 courses with 2 options in each course were offered so we were able to taste everything. We were delighted with every single dish!
Service was very efficient and friendly. A great experience - we will definitely return.
My son found this place. He was visiting from Italy where he lives and the the pizzas reminded him of home. Yum! My husband and I have been there 3 times now and this last time we brought friends visiting from Chicago and they loved it.
Excellent and diverse menu. Great ambience. Wonderful service. Food was delicious. Menu is updated often, keeping the restaurant fresh and relevant.
This place was convienent to Saenger theatre so great place for pre or post theatre bite. The food was awesome! Squid ink pasta was different and delicious! Will return soon!
We had a group of 10 for a birthday early dinner - we made sure to make our reservations during the happy hour. Was absolutely fantastic!! We ordered multiple pizzas and had wine. I would definitely recommend this to friends. Great service, great food. Happy, happy, happy.
My husband and I enjoyed Restaurant week in New Orleans and chose a different restaurant each night. Our 2 favorite choices include Domenica and Borgne, both John Besh restaurants. John Besh is an amazing chef, business owner, visionary and all around good guy from what we've heard. We are more than happy to frequent his restaurants where the food is excellently prepared and the staff is... more
Our party enjoyed the food immensely. The burrato appetizer was light and silky; the eggplant and feta appetizer was so smoky - do not miss that one. THe lamb pappardelle, rabbit and porcini tagliatelli, and goat were delicious. I tasted the lasagna, it's lasagna, nothing wonderful.I want the recipe for the chocolate hazelnut pudding, divine. Unfortunately, we had to lean in to hear each other.... more
I've probably been to this place 10 or 11 times and have never left unhappy.
Food is consistently delicious, and the menu is updated often.
Stracci and the lamb meatball pizza are our faves.
When we arrived Friday night, it was completely packed and very loud with Saints fans heading to pre-season game. Everyone cleared out about 45 minutes later and we had a great meal!
Best happy hour in the CBD-- half price pizzas, wine by the glass, well drinks, and beer. You can't beat the $7 small plates, either. We had the cavatelli and hot sausage which was, frankly, unbeatable. Really delicious. It gets loud in here, but that's no complaint. We enjoyed our pre-Saenger meal immensely.
we went to Domenica on a Sunday night while visiting NOLA. The place was busy and the service was SLOW! 2 hours from being seated to check and we only had 4 small plates and one pizza and coffee. While the food was good our pizza had prosciutto, olives, capers and was overly salty. The Burrata salad was very good.
Don't go for a quick bite!
What can I say? This restaurant is just awesome!_!
The Best Food ! The Best Service !!!! One of the greatest spots in the city !!!
Great location and decor, but the food was mediocre and the service unimpressive. We had the lasagne and lobster pasta. I had to send the lobster Pasta back as it was very salty. Still is lacked anything memorable. The lasagne was mediocre especially for an eatery associated with the Waldorf and in New Orleans.
We went to Domenica one day for lunch because of Chef Besh's reputation. It was terrific. I had a great, European-style pizza and a lovely salad, with greens and goat cheese and prosciutto. Great service.
Very straight forward delicious normal chinese food.......unadventurous lacking spice.....made for the unfortunately persuasive ($) taste of occidental patronage that dominates Calgary's culinary scene.....if you like safe,.....then this indigestion free atmosphere is the perfect place to bring your lactose intolerant christian singles group out for a night of speed dating...... more
I actually flew to Calgary from Los Angeles to eat here.
Always amazing
The Golden Inn is my favourite restaurant Cantonese-style Chinese restaurant in the city. There's a reason why this place has been around for so long and it's because of the great food and fast service. These guys are very efficient and never mess up your food order. As Al B. and Spencer B. mentioned, you can order things that aren't on your menu. They'll accommodate everyone, including my... more
Good chinese food. Banquet course meal , was okay, crab claws were good. But one dish, either sharks find soup or seafood fried rice had bits of shells in it. Then sweet and sour beef and pork cutlets were excellent though.
As a relatively recent resident of Calgary via Vancouver, I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to Asian cuisine.
Thankfully I've discovered the Golden Inn. Every time I've eaten there(several times a month) I've never been disappointed by the quality of the food, nor the portion size.
Service can be entertaining at times but very efficient. For instance, one of the late night waiters is convinced...

Late night diners and fans of Cantonese, your prayers have been answered.
Golden Inn is only open at night, from 4pm to sometimes 4am and serve some of the best Chinese in the city.
