We booked a group lunch at Global because of its location and vegetarian options. It's in the basement of the International Hotel so that wasa bit of a surprise. Low ceiling and it looks like it used to be a cafeteria. It was clean and nicely decorated though. The use servers were scattered and awkward but the food was fantastic. Great lunch selections with generous portions for the price. I... more
My favorites on the menu are the fish & chips and the beef dip. Service is always very good.
If you need to have a decent breakfast without spending too much time Global's buffet will do the trick. Nothing to fancy but reasonably priced. I did like the "make your own waffle machine" but thankfully there wasn't a bunch of people looking for waffles. The buffet is all they serve so you can get in and out in a hurry.
Very quiet restaurant with a good variety of food.
I was staying at the International Hotel and hungry so I decided to try out the 4th Street Cafe. I had been wary. I stay at the International quite often and had a look at their menu before and it didn't seem particularily interesting or creative. But it was late, cold and my friend who was staying at the same... more
I would like to file a complaint regarding my experience in the hotel cafe restaurant. I've been coming to this hotel for years and haven't witnessed such lack of manners. I came down for a breakfast meeting with my colleagues one morning last week. We were sitting near the kitchen door when we heard a female cafe server

Just ok. Monday night dinner at home meals. We used the entertainment book 2-1 so we didn't send our "Mac & cheese" back but we wouldn't order it again even at 2-1. It's generic penne with white sauce (not creamy or anything) and a few bits of lobster. If you don't feel like making dinner, have a 2-1, and don't want to mess up the kitchen-It's dinner ..
the beef dip was a good choice, the service was quick and attentive.
I found the food to be way too salty. I don’t mean to be overly harsh but I don’t think I’ll be going back there to eat…ever…there are just way too many good restaurants around to waste a... more
I visited the Lounge, and overall it was a generic experience. There are some positives, which include fast service, hot food, some interesting menu choices and generally good prices on the entrée dishes. Negatives include expensive drinks for the quality and size, hit and miss entrée qualities and the atmosphere, which was quite generic with hotel décor.I shared the spring roll starter - It... more
It was definitely the dressing that made the salad - sweet with a bit of a citrus tang. Although the salad was a full-meal size, I still found it overpriced. The service was efficient but... more
This cafe has a lot going for it. First, their service is fast, efficient, and attentive. Then, the dishes came out hot and made to perfection. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops Linguine, and let me tell you, the flavors are right on the ball. Very well made seafood with great creamy chessy tomato sauce. Not only will I be back, as the prices are great for downtown standards, but I will rave... more
