The mall started charging certain areas for parking. There is a $50 ticket if you do not pay for parking in previously free parking areas. It feels like a cash grab. I understand a 4 hour limit for the mall. However, during busy shopping times, I now have to pay for parking if there are no other free spots available so that I can further spend more money at the mall? This is not downtown. Might... more

I came to this mall just to kill time and ascertain the everyday lives of Canadians through my Asian American lens. The Metropolis at Metrotown is the largest mall in the province of British Columbia. But man this mall is huge, the biggest I have ever been. The place felt more like an indoor city and can fit at least three European High Streets in the mall and one and a half time larger than... more

Crowded mall with no original stores and rude people who do not respect personal space. Escalators didn't work so had to walk up and down them.

Absolutely fed up with their unreliable out of service escalators, especially at Superstore. Sad to hear that Metrotown will be gone in the near future. Easy free parking and great stores are the selling point here. South Burnaby really needs a covered shopping area and it's silly that Metrotown will be transformed into an open area downtown style neighbourhood.

Very nice mall, with a bit of a confusing lay out. I'm sure if you go there more often it is not such a mystery. What it does have is a ton of shops and a decent food court. My family and I definitely enjoyed the place.

I am going to miss this mall when they tear it down in the next few years. It's the largest mall in BC and either the 2nd or 3rd in Canada. The amazing Brentwood will have some large shoes too fill!

Gigantic mall! Probably the biggest I've been to thus far. I try to visit every time I'm in Vancouver. I especially love the new Chinese market and Sakura Media! Some of my other favorites are Uniqlo(so glad they're finally in Canada!) and Urban Behavior. If it's your first time, try to plan an entire day here (that's if you love shopping lol). We spent around 4 to 5 hours here and still didn't... more

Broken down escalators still a major issue and are an ongoing constant. You'll see this issue echoed in the tips section. Nothing has changed unfortunately. Mall management remains silent on the escalator issue. Many empty merchant spaces now in the mall much more so than before but a few new ones popping up. My previous scathing review got flagged and a glowing review sprung up instead.

I am a huge fan of people watching and "walking the mall". I love to come here to walk around and browse the shops because it's something my mom and I do when I'm back home. There are some great stores here (all of my favorite ones are) and equally as great places to eat. If you're looking to spend a day, this is the place to come.

If you're a fashionista, there are stores for basically every... more

This mall is great! So many stores and not enough time to get through all of them in one day. Parking is not a problem. It was snowing when I visited and it made it very fun. Everything is really clean, including the restrooms. The food would be subpar if it weren't for Chachi's. Really good sandwiches. This mall is a must-see attraction. I will definitely be back.

One of the largest malls I've seen.

They've also got some of my favorite stores. A two story uniqlo which I was sooo excited about. They have muji. Even a superstore! Pretty impressed.

It's also a bit confusing to get around so it's good to have the directory map on hand. You can get one right at the main directory and they have a stack of them you can take.

Design of mall is cheerfully done which I like a lot. But mall has lack of seating for the serious shopper. Also, mall administration should really think about a preventive maintenance program for their escalators. Oftentimes there are one or more escalators out of service- a big turn off. I have waited for many months to see progress on these escalators but Metrotown is still letting me down.

Another shopping stop in downtown Burnaby, the heart of all that is Asian in Vancouver. While many of the stores inside weren't very memorable to me, Metropolis At Metrotown is home to the very FIRST Uniqlo in Vancouver!! My kid and I took the Skytrain here the other day to explore. And wow, we were really impressed! It's a HUGE mall, containing every store one could possibly imagine (and some we had never heard of, too). We made a point of walking the entire perimeter of each floor, so as not to miss any stores. What the heck is going on with this mall?  Today I counted 5 pairs of escalators that were not working (FIVE). The way in to the mall from the Skytrain station is not attractive in any way - actually it's downright ugly. And dodging busses to get to the entrance is a pathetic design. They actually have crossing guards like they do at school - that's how bad and dangerous it is. I used to come... more

Although we live extremely close to this mall, Metrotown has been increasingly frustrating to visit with my family.
