We spent 1 night here and my family enjoyed our stay in this hotel
it was fine this time. although the check out clerk didn't seem all there. very distracted.
Paper thin walls-young and noisy customers-rooms are tired-lack of reading lamps- terrible easy chair in room. Staff friendly.
It was not pleasant staying where the lifts had to be shared with construction throughout my stay.
This was a very nice affordable place to stay in and in the downtown area.
We stayed for two nights and it was a good experience overall. Hotel location is good and in walking distance to many city's attractions. Staff members are helpful and polite. Hotel ran out of the parking space when we arrived at 5pm so we parked on street nearby for the first night. We got a spot the second day morning. Room is kind small but this is a downtown hotel. But more importantly,... more
The hotel is conveniently located but no on-site parking (with just a limited space for 2 cars for 15 minutes of unloading). This was a big draw back for me. The hotel was under renovation in the lobby areas and painting on the floors. The room was very clean as was the kitchen and bathroom - a big plus! Bed was comfortable, rooms are adequate but not cushy. Rooms cleaned 2 times a week only,... more
Close to everything downtown Ottawa, nice hotel, room's recently updated to meet current standards of other hotels in the area. Elevator lobby was under renovation when we were there.
We took two big suits, all together we were 12 people, having own kitchen was excellent choice with kids, Staff was exceptional, near to all locations we want to visit in downtown Ottawa, Highly recommend to every one who wants best value of their money Thank You Extended Stay Canada - Ottawa
I really enjoyed my stay. It was like a bachelor apartment with a full functioning kitchenette. The bed was comfortable as was the furniture. The bathroom was very clean and lovely too.
This hotel is located in a great spot. A quick walk to Elgin street and about 15 minutes into the Byward Market. The room was clean and well maintained.
Convenient location. You can find parking nearby at reasonable prices. Hotel room was good.
Can't recommend this hotel now. Being painted and you have to wander through their work space. Evening staff not very helpful and made us feel like we were interrupting them when we struggled with the confusing wifi instructions. My iPhone never did connect. Parking lot is very difficult to access, you have the choice of a narrow passageway with two large dumpsters, or a narrow steep decline... more
Breakfast was cheaply made, room service was not upto standard paint work was on progress parking was not provided but was included in package
The hotel rooms need to be renovated. The room I was staying in smelled horrible. The sting was not only in the room but the entire floor. The staff service was excellent. They quickly responded to my concern and sprayed air freshener but it was quickly back. Hopefully they change or clean the carpets and then it would get at least ,4/5 from me.
Very Comfortable and Relaxing for us all.
This hotel is pretty basic but in a great location. I wouldn't expect luxury here, but for somewhere to sleep downtown it was perfect. I would return!
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The location is great and basically I parked the car and walked to all the sights. The price was good for a downtown hotel and although it was going through some renovations at the time of my stay, I found the hotel very comfortable. The only negative things I can say is that the "complimentary breakfast" is really a "grab and go" breakfast with... more
The room is very spacious, I booked a two beds suit, it is really big suit, with very nice kitchen
This is an apartment building turned to hotel. So the outside of the building looks dated. However the reception area is good and the rooms spacious with full size fridge. This is located middle of all the restaurants and 5 minutes walk to Parliment hill.
Large room including Kitchen ... made stay convenient , walk everywhere from this location
Great location, close to our venue for a celebration of a 35 anniversary, we were able to walk there and back, which was wonderful. The staff is friendly , the rooms are very spacious, we definitely would stay here again.
The location of the hotel was what I expected and was within walking distance of downtown Ottawa. Unfortunately, the hotel is being renovated and we had to contend with contractors in the lifts, drilling and banging noises from the floors above and lifts out of service due to being commandeered by contractors. The room and furniture were extremely dated and one can only hope that the room that... more
been here before but this stay was inconvienenced by a lot of work being done that was not mentioned to us before we arrived. It was especially frustrating when the workers took over one of the elevators during the day leaving only one other for all of the guests. will not stay here next time we are in town.
The hotel is perfect for a party of 4-5 people and you want get one room to optimize. It worked out well for us the last two occasions we stayed in this hotel. Byward market, Parliament hill etc are within a walking radius. So we didn't have to take the car out at all. Overall, I'll highly recommend this place. They also provide grab n' go breakfast which is an added bonus.
Great location for our one night in ottawa to experience downtown Canada Day!
For a very high price we stayed at this hotel with a great location but the rooms were small and shabby
We came to Ottawa for a tourist vacation for a few days and were quite pleased with the extended-stay hotel. Everything was as expected and a little more. The only downside is the immediate buildings nearby, including an apartment building beside the hotel, can get quite loud, as we experienced loud music late into the night on the weekend. Obviously, the hotel cannot control others in their... more
I liked that the room was large enough for a family of 5. It was cool having a balcony that we could all stand on and look out, even if it was over looking a parking lot. The air conditioner worked great, which was really nice coming back to our room after spending the majority of our time in the heat. The negative side to this hotel is that they do not give a lot of towels/face cloths for our... more
This hotel is located in right in the downtown, it is in the walking distance to many sites.
We didn't expect a kitchen inside the room with stoves, plates and toaster. That was kinda amazing.
We only stayed one evening as we traveled on to Carleton place, but we did enjoy our stay immensely.
I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in June, hotel is situated right at the heart of Ottawa , comfortable rooms & other facilities as well the bathrooms were functional. Kitchen is equipped with a microwave fridge and a stove which was helpful especially if u have a kid who wants to eat at midnight.
Nice staff, good location that about the only good things I've seen in this place. Far too expensive for the quality and service on offer. Wish I did not stay there !!!
Staff were terrific, breakfast was as advertised, definitely nothing special. Disappointed with the kitchen set up, had to ask for cutlery, pans, dishes, etc.
Booked this hotel at last minute for a 4 night stay in Ottawa. In my haste using the on-line tools, made the mistake of booking a smoking room. When we arrived, I asked if there was anything available in non-smoking. Indeed there was, but in a penthouse suite. The friendly and helpful staff upgraded us to accommodate the request at no additional charge, even though it was 100% my error. You... more
We've stayed at the Extended Stay in Ottawa several times now, and never been disappointed. Each room seems to be a bit different, but they are all large and have full kitchen facilities. Beds and bedding are comfortable and I always have a good night's sleep. Coffee downstairs in the morning is a good quality, strong brew (that's important to me..) but the rest of the breakfast offerings look... more
Great location and easy to walk around downtown. Didn't use the parking because it was expensive. It was nice to have the breakfast available.
The hotel is currently under renovation. The floor to access parking was full of dry wall dust and pieces. We did end up with a kitchenette room which was nice although we had no use for it. The location was good with many restaurants/ pubs around. Continental breakfast is a grab and go instead of a sit down continental.
We had a two bedroom suite which was perfect for a family with 3 kids. Some bathroom fixtures had been updated as well as the bedding but some furniture and carpeting was old and so of course dirty. It was obvious the hotel is undergoing renovation, but from what's there, it's obviously long overdue. The location is perfect for getting to tourist attractions (we walked to the Museum of Nature)... more
The hotel rating was useful and consistent with my experience.
We stay only for one night and it was good. We were able to walk to the Parliament, the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica and Royal Canadian Mint.
They did a great job on renovating the hotel. The front desk staff were very helpful.
If you want to be downtown Ottawa and close to all the tourist attractions or if you have business downtown or using the convention centre then this is an ideal place to be, it's walking distance to all of these. I'm not sure what this hotel used to be........maybe an apartment building, I had a one bedroom suite and was... more
Rooms should be cleaned every after two days to help maintain the cleanliness otherwise it was good to be able to prepare my own food from my country because of the room arrangement. Staff, especially at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, easy to remember the name Scott because our Vice President has similar name. Otherwise all who... more
Good value for money. In the process of renovating. Lobby clean but rooms hallways , elevators, etc., a little tired and worn. Need more cutlery, dishes and cooking stuff. Staff very friendly and helpful. On site parking a bit of a pain.
For the value and convenince, we would stay here again.
Went for 2 nights stay for the Victoria days weekend with wife and 3 year old son. Great location right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. 10 minutes walking from the parliament hill and other sites such as the children's museum are also close by. nice separate living room area with kitchen and dishwasher as well. Close by were many... more
For someone who is staying longer than 3 says it is a very good choice. However, not having a restaurant was a big minus for me and elevators are way too slow when waiting to go down. I had to take stairs down from 9th floor because it was faster.
Overall good stay. Wish the bathroom was larger and they had tables and chairs for the balcony. The door was awful, I had to pull and push the door really hard whenever I wanted to go in and out of the room. I feel as if their breakfast could have been much better. The surrounding area was great; lots of restaurants and shops. Everything was within walking distance.
Loved the proximity to good restaurants and bars as well as museums, art centre and other sights.
My wife and I stayed here during Winterlude and it could not have worked out any better. The hotel is only a couple block walk from the canal which was very convenient. Confederation Park was just on the other side of City Hall. Speaking of City Hall, we were able to park there underground in a secure lot instead of... more
Yes, that's correct. A used condom fell out of the bedding and onto the floor during a stay in June 2013. I think that probably indicates how often they change the bedding. The staff member working was understanding and moved me to another room but needless to say I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else.
Conveniently located on Cooper st. 15 minutes walk to the Parliament or By Ward Market. Free self parking at city hall, good until 3 pm the next day. Grab-and-go breakfast included. Very helpful staff. Suite of very large size. It is of great value for the money I've paid for this 3 star hotel. Well beyond my expectation.
We chose this hotel for our stay during the Family Day long weekend in Feb 2014. We needed 2 rooms with 2 beds in each room. We were a group of 4 adults, and 4 kids.
List of Issues :-
1) The online reservation was done with the listing of a room with 2 Queen Beds. We were instead given...

One of the great things about Aristocrat Suite Hotel is its location. It's located on a quiet street, within walking distance of all the major downtown attractions. It's a great place to go if you're thinking about spending a few days in Ottawa and... more
Conveniently located a few blocks south of Parliament Hill and just west of the Rideau Canal, the Aristocrat Hotel is a good choice for the visitor. The bus route #97 which serves Ottawa's airport is just a few blocks north. Elgin Street just... more
This is an apartment style hotel located only minutes from the Parliament Buildings, market, museums, the canal, and loads of shopping. The suites are either 1 or 2 bedrooms (I've stayed in both), kitchen, living room, dining area, and full bathroom. It's a nice, comfy place! You can't beat the location. There is a restaurant in the hotel, although I've never eaten there. There is a workout... more
Stayed in a double room with two double beds as a family of 4 (2 adults, 13&12 y.o.). Only used room to watch t.v. and sleep after big days out sightseeing so space was fine for this purpose. Cooked 2x breakfasts and 1x dinner in kitchen but had to eat in shifts as only enough crockery for 3 people! Beds... more
Okay...so lets just put it out there. I have high expectations when it comes to accommodations, so booking this hotel through a third party was probably not the greatest choice but it was the most cost-efficient one. This hotel exceeded my expectations of a 2.5-Star hotel . Yeah, you might not get all the fancy gadgets as those provided in... more
Booked through hotwire. ca for 59 dollars a night. Worth the price. Definitely wouldn't pay full price. We stayed two nights in room 315. Never used the kitchen... more
I had such a great experience through Extended Stay Canada-Ottawa.
Check-in was quick, efficient and very helpful searching for a rental car company.

The one thing I hate is a tiny hotel room. I've stayed twice at this hotel and this was the smallest room of the two times, yet still a big room. For the price, it was a steal. Travelling a lot, I like to feel at home, so I was grateful to have a fridge and dining room. Last time... more
There was a very strong smoking smell in the room, even though I booked non-smoking room. Had to open window and let the smell vent for a while, somebody definitely smoked in the room for some time. Good location and price, breakfast limited, but nice to be able to cook in your own kitchen albeit with limited supplies. Very basic hotel. Furniture & kitchen are very dated. A/c unit was poorly sealed and allowed cold air in, heating not great. Air return/ducts in bathroom clearly linked directly to next room, cigarette & pot smoke from next room flowed easily into mine. Great hot water though....

I stayed one night at this hotel in january. I got a good deal on Hotwire. I had the room 1005, next to the elevator, but I didn't hear it from the bedroom. And the room was really warm (maybe a little bit to warm :P). We didn't use the kitchen, but there was not a lot of things. We... more
If all you read from this review is the first sentence, then note that this was booked through Hotwire and you shouldn't be paying full price for this place.

I booked through Hotwire, so I wasn't expecting the best hotel for the price I got. It wasn't the worst place though, I mean better then the motels along Rideau Street. staff at front desk were very friendly. the room was clean and nice and big. bathroom was very nice! bed really comfy. walking distance to everything! the televisions were great, nothing to complain about!
This was an excellent hotel. The location was about a 7 minute walk to Parliament Hill and steps away from Elgin Street with all the restaurants and pubs. What else do you need? While the Grab and Go Breakfast was a little sparse and the room on arrival rather hot, everything else was more than adequate. I was there only one night but with the size of the suite would be happy to be there for an extended period.

To say that I was disappointed with my recent stay here would be a gross understatement. The hotel is conveniently located near downtown Ottawa ( 15 -20 walk, 5 minutes by car ). The hotel has suites with 1 bedroom, 1 kitchenette, and a pullout bed in the living room.

There are a few hotels that offer rooms with kitchenette in Ottawa, and three of those are very close to each other geographically and in term of price range. Great location - very central to lots of restaurants, etc. Parking lot was full, so we were forced to park down and across the road, which was a pain with 2 small kids and sidewalks that were icy and slushy though. And when unloading, we parked on the wrong side of the street and ended up with a $40... more
The check in was fast and efficient. The room was clean and well equipped. Could have a little more colour on the walls etc, to make it cozier, but overall a very comfortable room. The only down side was the parking lot was full and we had to park down the block.
The location of the Hotel is good as it has easy access to shopping malls, local shops, tourist attractions, US embassy etc... The staffs were friendly and responsive. If you plan to cook in the Hotel, it is not convenient as no much dishes available and even the available ones are not convenient. The hotel doesn’t provide complimentary breakfast/lunch/dinner. They have an Italian restaurant... more
Can't talk about Deluxe... room was clean but nothing else. room ameneties was at minimum stuff and old. Staff was very good and you are in downtown.
Everything I needed it to be.Fun timesEverything was good!
Stayed in the hotel for an weekend . staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were quite okay in terms of size and appliances provided. I had an oven and microwave along with a refrigerator , heater was was working okay. The bed sheet could have been newer. I would recommend this one if you are not looking for luxury but value for money.
Not exactly the Ritz-Carlton, but very clean and in good shape. (Great downtown location, too.) No idea what an extended stay would be like, but my short stay was quite pleasant.
“Affordable, great location and kitchenette was a nice feature.”
If you don't know your way around Ottawa this is the perfect spot! You don't need a car, you are within walking distance of the parliament buildings, great restaurants and pubs, and the market were there is everything from food kiosks to fresh vegetables and fruit stands, cool pubs and trendy restaurants and everything else. The rooms are large and comfortable with a separate bedroom , a kitchen... more
I found the room extremely clean and comfortable. Good size, considering I asked for the smallest one available. Staff was "OK". They do not go the extra mile to assist, but they are polite enough. They do not provide "shower caps". And you have to pay for hooking up your computer in the room. No wireless in the rooms are available. That was painful, since my net-book has only wireless... more
The hotel was definitely a budget hotel. Parking was either on the mezzanine, if there was space (up a ramp about 8" from the car on each side), or in a lot in the back. This would have been OK but they charged extra for it that was not disclosed upon our arrival. The first night there was a lot of noise as renovations were underway near the mezzanine (they were installing a new floor). I... more
Reservation made at Orbitz was not well communicated to the hotel. Wrong room type (1 bed for 4 guests) and no parking available at hotel. Front desk staff remedied the situation but were unable to provide a room with Internet (not even hardwire!!) - they were apologetic but essentially the details are all missing here. We booked based on location and price, but also for Internet availability,... more
Great location, reasonably cleaned room and friendly staff. But very limited parking space available at the hotel; the TV remote and coffee maker not working.
“I'm not sure if their rooms are suites, but we stayed in one. It's so spacious, and comes with a full kitchen, even with cutleries!”
“Extended Stay was a decent hotel and it's nice to have a kitchen available in the room. The elevator was incredibly slow. Service was good.”
“Helpful staff and great location. Kitchenette contained enough stuff that we could do a little cooking in the room. Location and kitchen helped enhanced our Winterlude experience”
“Not recommended unless you plan on consuming a lot of alcohol.”
“Extremely small rooms,
I had to jump over on bed to reach the other bed, as there was no enough space to go around the first bed. Internet connection is very slow, and it is not wireless, and yet I had to pay for it. Parking is crazy to be 11 dollars every night, and yet it is not covered, so the snow covered the car every night, simply ridiculous.”
“Clean room, good kitchen, so small elevator, bad sound insulation, can hear TV sound in the next room.”
The room was very spacious, it was great value for money and the location was perfect. I would highly recommend.
“The rooms were outdated, small & needed a fresh coat of paint & good cleaning. Not worth the money.”
“For a 2 star and the price, the room was excellent. The room was clean, although the mattress wasn't the most comfortable. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. Great location. Within walking distance of the downtown area. The kitchenette makes it a great place to stay with young children, especially with the good sized fridge. I would stay there again.”
“This was a great stay due to the location and the incredible amount of space. Ultra clean and comfortable as well. Would stay there again!”
“Situated in downtown and it's very convenience for business and people who don't have cars. The general look is good, however, the smell of the room is not acceptable.”
“I loved the Extended Stay in terms of location, cleanliness, spaciousness of room, facilities overall. But I was not happy with the fact that supposedly there is no consistent parking for guests. If you're lucky, there may be a space in the hotel lot, in which case you pay an extra $11 per day. If you're up the creek, you're on the street feeding the meter, etc. A lot of us guests have rental... more
“The location was great, and my wife loved the room. It was clean and very nice.I recommend it to every one.”
“This hotel was an excellent value. Our room was large and clean with a fully equipped kitchen. Bathroom was small but recently updated with very nice fixtures and very clean. Staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful.”
“The just-off downtown location of this hotel is convenient. It is a short walk to the main core of the city. Certainly not worth starting the car up to go there.”
“We spent two nights here and really enjoyed it; we wished that our stay could have been longer. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were pleased with our accommodations and comfort. Great place!”
“Aside from it's fantastic location the room was certainly not a deluxe room: cheap furniture, torn lamp shade, corridor walls that needed painting (primer was applied to spots on the wall and left). The corridor and room reeked of cigarettes smell.”
“Overall I was quite satisfied with the hotel. It was convenient, affordable and exactly what we were looking for considering our situation.”
i would recomend this hotel for people that wants an apartment for vacation. everything was in good condition, clean, the staff was very friendly and polite... we had a great stay
“The location of this hotel is very good, close to Parliament Hill and Rideau Center. The room was nice, with full size stove, refrigerator, microwave, and kitchen stuff. The beds were comfortable. High speed internet is very convenient with reasonable rate, $4.99/stay. Front desk clerks were friendly and helpful. Overall, we were satisfied with our staying in the hotel and indeed extended for... more
“Everything within walking distance! All of Ottawa's main attractions are within 15 min. walking distance. Bus stop just around the corner if you want to ride instead. Hotel staff unbelievably helpful - will print out bus schedules for you! Ofcourse they also call a cab or hotel shuttle for you. Lots of restaurants nearby from local pubs to pizza to the ubiquitous Macs. Hotel also has a... more
“This hotel is a 2.5star hotel rather than a 3star - there is no pool and only limited housekeeping.”
