Located in the heart of Downtown Toronto, this historic property offers the contrast of old town look with newly renovated rooms
For what it costs to stay at this hotel - it is sure worth it. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown and is clean enough. Staff is friendly
This hotel was not pleasant. Awful air conditioning, awful shutters so the light came in super early. bad to non existent wifi. was the worst shower i have ever had
friendly staff but poor airconditioning ,good location close to main areas by walking
I was in Toronto a few days during my last holiday and was very surprise by the Knights Inn Toronto... Very, very affordable! Of course it's not a room that you would go to rest inside for a whole week :D But if you're going to Toronto to stay out and having fun AND in need of a place to sleep & rest... that'll be the best choice. I was satisfied of everything and for the price i can say... more
I usually read bad reviews and think that people are just way too fussy, and usually that is the case. I've read reviews about rooms being terrible and then I've found the place to certainly be adequate. When I checked into the room, I would have to say that this was by far the most disgusting hotel room that I have ever seen. The room itself was probably a little less clean than any other room... more
Poorly maintained. Moldy takeout in the mini-fridge upon arrival (even though the staff member said that housecleaning was just there). Remote was missing the back cover for batteries. Lazily patched up holes in the walls in the room and the halls. Boot mark on the door and shoddy repairs to the deadbolt part of the door frame-obviously kicked in at some point and no one bothered to wash the... more
Hotel was great. Room was comfy, all basics were provided. Staff were very helpful when asked about directions. Small parking lot on site. Breakfast is minimal. 10 minute walk from train station, 3 minute walk from bus station. 15 minute walk into the city.
This hotel was off the main streets in Toronto. our room was like a dorm room it had an air conditioner but with no electrical outlet anywhere near it, called the front desk, and they provided an extension cord very quickly but a little too quickly! My husband said it was as if they were hoping we would not complain and they would save on hydro. This hotel was $100 for the night and not worth... more
The place is calm, and good for the money. Especially the fact that its downtown Toronto makes it a great spot
I booked only because I was in transit to the airport & only for one night. Almost cancelled after reading all the bad reviews but have travelled enough to know not to let the bad reviewers win. Staff very friendly .
The staff are very friendly and helpful but aside from that I would not recommend the knights in as a place to stay. The hotel is in a very dangerous area, there in an emergency homeless shelter on the next street and drug addicts/drunks in the park beside the hotel all day and night. The area is very run down... more

I won't bore you with a lengthy review, just points to help you decide if this is a good place to stay:

-Neighborhood for some would seem sketchy, but we walked back to the hotel at 12 at night and felt totally...

The hotel condition is the worst. The smell and some furnitures (blinds and cabinets) are falling apart..
We stayed here for a week. The hotel itself is in a great location. Only a 10-15 minute walk to Younge-Dundas square. It is an older hotel but you can tell that they are renovating. Our room was clean. The beds were super comfy! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine with me. Toast, waffles, cereal. They were very accommodating and kept our luggage safe on our last day as... more
loved Toronto and without staying at knights inn, couldn't have afforded to spend as much time. basic hotel/hostel with no frills but reasonable, close to activity and parking right there!
Scary! Not very clean very dated as well. Cheap that is the only up side! Poor area of town. Would never go back
it was so awful we did cancel our stay there did not stay one night and canceled after we seen it but of course there was no money returned which was a upset .. we had to find another room at midnight by limo expense we cancel but I guess that's how they make there money by not refunding any money never again
Very well situated, economical, for any visitor who just neefs to sleep!
I was able to walk to where I wanted to go or take the subway so that was a big plus. The hotel could use some fixing up and cleaning ie upholstery.
There is very limited parking so ensure you book a spot before you arrive. The air conditioning did not work. Fair enough the staff were helpful and brought a fan. During the night the thermostat on it read 32 degrees. We were able to move to another room for the following nights. In neither room did blinds cover the windows and there was utterly inadequate window ventilation in the first room... more
We spend one night at the Knights Inn few days ago and we were very happy with our stay there. The room was a bit small, but very clean and comfortable. There was a complimentary breakfast that was nothing special but good enough. The guy on he desk is super nice and helpful! You definitely get the worth for your money!
I like the fact the room was clean a bit small just walking distance to restaurants your right downtown Toronto.Staff very freindly
Very Bad Experience, I don't suggest to anyone...Low quality room, food, neighborhood, handling the issues, etc.
very bad hotel room allocated by hotel staff, nasty cigarette smoke smell inside the room, No curtains or blinds for window, bathroom doors not user friendly, Overall very bad hotel room
The staff was friendly. Got what I expected small room with bathroom that was in need of minor repairs. Chiped paint, new cocking. Air conditionerfilter needed a good cleaning. No quilt but it was summer. Breakfast was cereal, toast waffles were only available once.
For the price you get what you'd expect really. The room itself was a little dirty and we didnt use the shower because it was gross. Its run down but the bed was okay and we only needed it for a place to crash so it did the trick. Left before breakfast so cant say much about that. The neighbourhood itself I thought was pretty good and its convenient. Did have to walk down the street to public... more
Clean rooms and friendly personnel, moreover the hotel is well located. Minimal breakfast. Overall satisfied!
8th time staying here. Cheapest I have found other than hostels. Clean, friendly/helpful staff. Some rooms better than others. Not luxurious but perfect if you just need a place to sleep.
It's a good place to stay if your doing adventures in Toronto, very close to Eaton center and everything, hotel was nothing special, not a nice view but you get what you pay for.
The Royal York this hotel is not, however the nightly charge is a fraction of the cost!
The sheets + towels were spotless, pillows brand new! Bathrooms spotless, not a hair or a spec of dirt! Air-conditioning, refridgerator worked well. Staff, Incredible, basically bent over backwards to try + accomodate every request.

I wasn't expecting the best hotel there is when I came to the Knights Inn so I wasn't disappointment. When I got there, they thankfully let me check in early making my life so much easier because I had to be elsewhere at the time of checking in. Pretty good location, unfortunately no parking on hotel property or even NEAR the hotel. Had to park a block away in a city pay lot. Condition of the hotel wasn't great but it was a good price for the location. Also no elevator so had to carry heavy bags and my cooler up a flight of stairs.
The experience at knight inn was horrible no free parking we had to convince the guy to let us park there. And that's all I have to say about that
I had my misgivings about this place because of other reviewers but I found out the place was fine for what it cost. The important things: clean bed and bathroom, friendly staff, central locale. Bring ear plugs and a night mask if... more
Staff was nice but room was very small, missing bed tables, a lamp did not work ,bed was mediocre and hurt myself few times on corner extending from the base of the bed. Many loose baseboards surrounding heating system. AC was very dirty. One towel in bathroom only. Very disappointing experience
Needs some major renovations. Bathroom wasn't very nice. Hotel staff wasn't very efficient when we asked for things. Was just a small room woth a fridge and small bathroom. Guess for Toronto. Am glad I got a deal on the room through expedia. Wouldn't wanted to have paid full price.
Friendly and helpful staff , comfortable and quiet room , conveniently located
Pleasantly surprised after reviews. We booked at the last minute because we needed an hotel near St.Michaels hospital & that was the only hotel with availability. Not all rooms have been renovated so ask for one that has been. Front desk agents... more
I don't understand what all the complaining is about. This hotel was great for the price. The location is close to everything downtown and close to public transportation. I rented the 2 double beds room at this hotel with a friend. When we arrived, there were damp used towels behind the door on the floor of the bathroom. When I arrived the hotel had no remaining parking spaces available so I had to drive around the corner in a dicey neighborhood to park my car at a lot for the night. The hotel is located in downtown but seems to be in a fairly rough area, lots of suspicious characters around. I wanted a budget hotel in the city and was not looking for a 5 star experience but what I did get far exceeded my expectations. I was in Toronto for a conference and stayed at a few places, including the Westin Harbour and I have to say that this was by far my best experience on this trip. Can't ask for more considering the price of the room. It is well located, easy to get to if traveling by car or public transportation. Had a room with a double bed, it's pretty much all that fits in the room. Add the desk and the room measures about 12x5 feet. Room is clean enough, there's nothing you won't see in your own home. If all you need is a bed to sleep on, Knights Inn is for you. For... more
The room was clean and comfortable, not noisy at all. I even had a fridge in my room, but there was no fridge in my friend's room. Can walk to the bus station and the metro. Waffles for breakfast was a plus.
The staff was great ! The room was ok and the hotel is so close to downtown that I don't care about the rest! I'd go back there anytime.
Room was dirty, holes in the wall, we were exhausted and only needed a place to stay for a few hours but still turned around and found another hotel
The room had no window and felt very strange. There was also a strange smell coming out of the bathroom. A cheap place but definitely quite strange! And the breakfast was terrible!
It's at a walking distance (15 minutes) from the centre, subway stations and the Eaton centre. That and it's relatively low price is where its strong points end. The hotel staffs are friendly. My only minor concern is that the window in my room on the first floor does not lock. A thin person could have crawled into the room and took my laptop.
Very close to Ryerson University campus in downtown Toronto.
Relatively good location, couple of subway stations and famous Eaton shopping center are located within 15 to 20 minutes walking distance.

This was the cheapest hotel in the area. I was in Toronto for a half marathon race and I just needed a place to stay for one night. I would say that overall this was a mediocre place. There were no sheets on the bed or hand towels in the bathroom. I think some small things would make this stay much better

If you are looking for an inexpensive stay. I highly recommend this establishment. Updated, clean, good continental breakfast. The room was a bit warm with no way of regulating the heat that I could see. Air conditioner only worked on fan unless again I was doing something wrong.
We travel from NY each year for the pride event, Just a 2 night stay, my friends picked this hotel and I will never let them live it down. We had requested rooms next to each other and they put us at different locations of the hotel. THE AC DID NOT WORK - I reported it every morning to the... more

The issues are:the room has no option to open the window; all walls MUST be painted; some electrical staff (wall outlets) must be fixed (there is a hole in the wall!), carpet to be replaced; washroom doesn't have a power outlet; the bed looks not fresh-we run to Wallmart and bought new bed to put on the top of existing; also we bought new towels and Fantastic to clean the bathroom; breakfast is... more
I can't even find words to describe my stay at the hotel. I checked in around midnight Friday night. The guy at the front desk was so impersonal and not at all courteous. I must say that this is the worst service I have ever received and I'm not exaggerating. He gave me the keys for room 25 which was dirty, the sheets for the bed hadn't been changed and there was a black bin bag with rubbish in... more
small room, tv that didn't work very well, bathroom was not very clean, good location and cheap for downtown toronto
The reception staff were very helpful. The room was ok but could do with decorating.Location was good - only a short walk from the main streets
no water glasses or drinking cups provided in the room. Either bring your own cup or glass or bottled water. Though they provide a bar of soap and towel, their are no washcloths.
They had no idea we were coming. The reservation had not made it to them. They weren't sure if we had paid or not. The staff were nice enough to take our word on it. Very limited parking, 4 -5 spots. Was given a spot to park in and got a parking ticket. The staff member did say he would take care of the ticket as it was their property. I will check with the Toronto by-law later this week to see... more
propreté et qualité du petit déjeuner à revoir.Bon emplacement en centre ville, quartier calme
lack of information in the hotel. space constraints and morning breakfast was not standard.
this hotel is converted from a old house and sevices mostly to students wşth a very tight budget. I've seen many dorm rooms. I've stayed in a single room. The location is not central and you walk a lot. Or you pay for a taxi and that brings the total cost same as a centrally located hotel. There are no subway stations close. the room needed urgent paint and there was a heavy moisture smell... more
First off, there was nothing in their profile to indicate they were doing major renovations during our stay. The tv in my room did not work, the bathroom doors, as well as the room doors, did not close properly. There was no contintental breakfast to speak of. Their idea of a refrigerator and microwave was in the community room. The only internet connection they had was also in this room,... more
It was neither bad nor good. The room was clean, however, you have to request room service daily. The staff was friendly. The bed was uncomfortable, but I would stay there again.
* This is not a hotel, how can you rate it ** ? * There was no parking ! The receptionist asked me to park my car about 10 minute walk, then next morning i got a warning from the parking lot. * room properties are very ugly and poor, no phone, no shampoo What a nightmare !!!!!! (There're still some things: TV, comprehensive breakfast, computer room with internet.)
My husband and I decided to stay here on our recent trip to Toronto. Based on what I had read on sidestep and the "inns" website, it looked clean, reasonable, and what we were looking for. When we got there, we had to shovel our own parking place (and pay $10 for it) and checked into our room. It was ok. The room came with two towels and a little bar of soap. The TV did not work, there was no... more
