We stopped at Don Cherry's for lunch on our way home from camping at Killbear. Small portions of food for the price but it was tasty. We were with three of our young grandkids (ages under 7) and they were treated extra special! Lots of attention and activities to keep them busy which we were grateful for.
It had a very attractive patio and it was a sunny day which made the lunch very enjoyable. The meals were mainly pub fare but very nicely presented and good value.
In this summer this place becomes something of a local hangout for the staff at nearby summer camp's, and can be a lot of fun.
Food and service are just ok, I definitely recommend the Chicken Wings
Good place to go to with friends to watch some sports. Food was a little pricey. I recommend the chicken tortellini alfredo (meal) and SPINACH dip (appetizer). My boyfriend got the wrap and wasn't very impressed. Service is a little slow, so don't go there hungry. Friendly staff, just slower service.
We dived into Don's during a lunchtime rainstorm. I had the grilled bacon, cheese and tomato sandwich. Wheat bread was perfectly done, cheese was fully melted. Pea meal bacon was a bonus. Companion had the BLT, they though it was very good. We both got side salads as a change from fries. Tomatoes, onions, carrots and peppers in the salad;... more
My hamburger was overdone, the fries and gravy were good. Service was friendly but a little slow.
Would I go back? Probably not. It was not bad but there are better options in town.
I had the shrimp fajitas and OMG....the shrimp was flavored perfectly and the size of them was huge....if you like the homemade guacamole ask for two sides of it...trust me mmmmmm......I also had the most enchanting sticky toffee cake, I swear I am coming back just for this delicious dessert....the service was amazing.....this place has a good team working for... more
Large portions of food in the bar, quick service and friendly service couldn't ask for anything more.
I like this place because you guessed it I like Don Cherry and as a kid on my way up north this place was a major destination in the 90's.
I have tried this restaurant a few times and it doesn't get better. Tried take out and there was barely a pound of wings in the polystyrene container when I got home. Tried eating in and the food was cold when it got to my table. Granted it was a busy evening in the summer.
Ok, a lot of naysayers here. Here's the deal. This restaraunt, managed by an always smiling Angie (if I owned a bar, I would hire her as my manager...PRONTO!), is a 8 of 10 in my books. The food is average, the decor is average, as an overall sports bar, 5 out of 10. BUT....what makes a good hangout? I... more
The only good thing I can say was the lady who served me at the bar was very friendly & attentive. Over than that, the place needs a serious cleaning. The whole place reeks of grease. Bathrooms need serious attention. My Cobb salad was a mound of Romaine with a scattering of bits and sauce that tasted like mayo out... more
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!
Seat yourself style, and despite being seen by the waiter, we waiting 20 minutes without menus or drinks, for him to come over, then we finally left with not so much as an apology. We tried it again on another night out. The drinks sat empty for most of the meal, and although the food was good, when...

Yes there are big screen tv's for sports, but that's about it. It's dirty, the decor is old and shabby and the food is very poor quite often. If you are looking for good quality food at a reasonable price with friendly people try Wellingtons, Memories of Muskoka, Trappers Choice or Boston Pizza.
A large group of us went a couple of weeks ago and the food was downright terrible. didn't matter what it was, most people were disappointed. Now, the people I spoke with did not have the chicken wings and perhaps that would be fine...hard to mess those up...but the prices charged for sup-par food, is ridiculous. Service was not great,... more
Tonight ( December 28th) my parents, brother in law and my younger sister and I all went out to don Cherry's for my sisters 19th birthday. We arrived at don Cherry's at 1 am and planned on celebrating my sisters first drink with her and then going home. We were greeted by two bouncers at the door. We told them... more
Great wings. Great service. Some of my friend complained of being sick after eating here. Not me I was fine. Bad selection of beer on tap. Basic Molson lineup. The staff here can be distracted by regulars, and at time they can be understaffed. The food selection is good and the prices are average. The atmosphere is dated and Don... more
The only reason I have it a 2, for atmosphere is because the place has never been very busy on any of the occasions that I have been here.
The food is great. The service is excellent. Especially Belinda.
7 of us for lunch the day after a family wedding. Loads of food nice surroundings and small town staff that were between truck stop and charming. I mean this as a compliment. Homey not TO snotty. Refreshing. I recommend it.
I've eaten there on 3 occasions when in Parry Sound. The service is good, friendly, fast.Food is hot and well presented and tasty.
I went to the bar upstairs at Don Cherry's on September 28th, 2013. It was an okay time until I went to leave and the shaggy haired bouncer called me a "dog on a leash" .... Is this really how the owners of Don Cherry's want their staff to act towards paying customers? Not only did I pay $5 cover... more
try the wings their great .Not fancy but great outside deck .Be sure to shake hands with the bear, he's friendly
This is exactly what one wants in a sports bar. The food is decent for its type and there was nothing to dislike
They must have new cooks as the food is burnt and not like it used to be. We have been coming here for years and this year it has been disgusting.
Don Cherry's menu had great value, plenty of options and is tasty!. The cheese sticks were great. They use Havarti cheese wrapped in a filo pastry, and lightly deep fry them. There are the best cheese sticks have ever had. I had the prime rib for dinner, the meat was tender and the portions are huge. It came with garlic... more
How does one lose an order? Waited close to an hour to hear about it and no apologies. What a huge disappointment.
The only reason we chose to eat here in the first place was because Parry Sound has very few dining options. When we arrived our party was completely ignored so we walked through the dark bar and pulled some tables together to seat ourselves. After waiting a good 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order she... more
Could not believe how rude the servers had to wait 2 hours for food we were all done our food and my still didnt have his meal. was huffed at when we asked for anything and expecially when we asked for the bill. will never go back again
I eat here once a twice a year, and the food is consistently great, especially for a chain restaurant. I'd recommend the wings or the prime rib special, if you're extra hungry. Service seems to be consistently top-notch, doesn't seem to matter who it is. They always have the biggest games on the litany of televisions, and I hear they've... more
This place needs a renovation. That said, the service is good and the beer is cold. A good spot to go for a beer and just hang out.
I expected a sports bar - casual food and ambience. Food was just ok, service was good and our server was very friendly. Place is dated and dark and dirty. I wouldn't say don't eat here - but I wouldn't go again. And what is with a town this small - with tons of outdoor space - and no place... more
Willie was performing at the Mecca of Hockey in Parry Sound the Bobby Orr Centre. Don Cherry's was within walking distance. We had great Pub Grub . The service was a little slow however the food was worth the wait. Our server Shelby was very busy and had to be asked for water refills and finally brought a pitcher.
Over-priced, slow service, average food...did I mention it was incredibly over-priced? If you're looking for breakfast or lunch then go across the street... more
We were here a year and half ago and the food was really good, surprisingly good. We went back yesterday and the food was terrible. Maybe they have a new cook or owner? My wings were overcooked so they were very dry and hard. Our fried havarti sticks were almost cold. My friend's fish was rock hard. The server was... more
Walk in backwards bent over with your wallet open! This place reeks of desperation. Desperation to win money from the races, desperation to make as much money they can from over-priced domestic beer and sub-par food. I guess because there's only one other bar around they can get away with it. A dump!
As far as a sports bar goes its great. The waiting staff is high powered and running around all the time. The wings are personally my favorite thing there everything else can be a bit greasy but its a sports bar! Plenty of tvs and games on.
If you want a burger that's better than McD's, go here. But they are not worth $14. Seriously, in this town? The added serving of fries is tiny, to say the least. The wings are fantastic. But unless you r there on the 2 4 1 Tuesdays, again too expensive for this town. You can get better prices and better... more
My husband and I have eaten here many times over the past 7 years as we have a cottage north of Parry Sound and when we come into town mid week we like to have wings. The service and the wings have always been great - no complaints about them. What isn't great is the lack of cleanliness of this... more
Not sure about the reviews I just read, but have been here for 3 nites in a row for the food. I travel alot and food is the reward at the end of the day, and this is a great reward. Try the beef dip - this is roast beef, not some cheap cut of meat. The chicken bits with... more
The service was very poor, staff was more interested in visiting with friends and what was going on outside in the "smoking section" which really needs a good clean up
Although this is one of our favourite places to go to as a pub, they need to work on standardizing their recipes or something. You never know what you're going to get from one week to the next. Some weeks the food might be quite good, but when you order the same item a few weeks later, it is not... more
Friendly, helpful service and good bar food. The manager advised us on what to choose and his advice was excellent!
If I was Don Cherry I would be embaressed. not because of those God aweful suits he wears, but because he attached his name to a place like this.
After a long day on the water, we came into town and went to what amounted to the only "bar" in the town. Needless to say, the alcohol was served promptly,...

My husband, myself and my children were on the look out for somewhere to eat. We seen a sign on the side of the hwy and decided to try it out. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a rum and coke. We got a beer and a coke. We also ordered bruchetta as an appetizer and our main course. We got our main course but never got our appetizer. Sailed into Parry Sound with my father, brother, brother inlaw and 2 nephews. Went to Cherrys to watch the Olympics as a group one night, and went back the next day for some food and drinks. UNFORTINATELY we ran into angie the bartender/ manager. She refused to serve my 23 year old nephew because he did not have his passport... more
This is just a waste of time , all food is way over priced and service is horrible , never go back again
Great friendly service and food, all the games you can watch and a small club upstairs full of music and people having a good time.
Terrible food, terrible service....We got chicken wings, that came out cold, and it took over an hour to get. We had to go up to the bar to ask for drinks because our server was never around.
We stayed in Parry Sound for several days at the hotel connected to the Don Cherry’s and ate several meals there during our stay. I had never eaten at a Don Cherry’s before, but I get what I expected; actually, it exceeded my expectations.
Both my partner and I enjoyed the meals we had while there. We had a late...
