One of the less pretentious restaurants in town, and for good reason- it's not that good. I went for fish and chips expecting greatness and although the halibut was cooked perfectly the rest of the meal was disappointing. For the best value choose their halibut nuggets. The clam chowder is only so-so; the chips are possibly McCain's frozen and the Caesar salad, drowned in dressing with hard... more
My husband and I have eaten here twice during our visit to PR. We had the lingcod fish and chips and one time I had a seafood Caesar salad. The fish and chips were fresh and wonderful but the salad, though pricey (about 24 CAD) was my favorite. It had shrimp, crab and smoked salmon - all local and really fresh.
The restaurant is nice but not fancy. It adjoins the seafood store so you can look...

Had some real clam chowder and steamed clams in creole sauce with a side of homemade garlic bread to start! It was truly a treat!!! For the main course we had the seafood platter and the long CIS & chips special. These were very good as well, hand battered and cooked to perfection.
Next time in Prince Rupert I would swing by again!
Get the clams!! Just do it. Tomatoes Creole sauce! The chowder is great. If you do not eat here you will be missing out!
This is a great little fish and chips Gem in the artisan area of Prince Rupert. Nice size pies of fish, perfect batter and yummy apple slaw homemade. Service is friendly and fast.
Will return!
After doing the interior of BC & Yukon we got to try some sea food
They also had takeout for fresh seafood to cook on your own.
Smoked fish available .Good Seafood, excellent clam chowder and ,fish.
Excellent food. Considerate service (when we had to wait rather long for a table, we were given a free glass of wine). Seafood is processed on the premises and seafood to go is reasonably priced and can be shipped.
Thought the fish chowder was really tasty then followed by seafood combo which was super. Also managed an apple and cranberry pie which was fabulous. Service very good and liked the local atmosphere. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
Went for a light lunch.. Ha Ha. Of course seafood is uppermost on the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed a satisfying meal.. Did not come away hungry. Also, while there I had my salmon catch, vacuum packed, frozen, and ready for shipment to USA. Convenient.
I would give Dolly's a 3 if it were in a larger city, but a 4 for a smaller place like Prince Rupert.
I was expecting an opportunity for a healthy and tasty dinner that I hoped would fill me up. When I looked at the menu, it seemed as though fish is primarily prepared by frying in some manner....

This was recommended to us by our hotel. We had the seafood combo and halibut burger. The burger was very tasty and cooked just right for me. Their tarter sauce was a nice and didn't overpower the food. The halibut bites are what my grandson wanted to try and we could have gotten another plate for him he liked them... more
The staff at this restaurant was very well trained and very friendly. What disappointing me was the menu. I was expecting a lot less deep fried food and a lot more fresh options. Dolly's has access to the best seafood in BC and it would be great to feature it without covering in batter and deep frying it. I had... more
Excellent fresh fish dinners everyday. Nice friendly staff. Reasonably priced and large portions. Go to the attached fish market and try the candied salmon. Wicked good! Brought some home to Ontario!
Had the seafood platter with tempura prawns, halibut, and scallops. Food was quick. Service was awesome. Can't wait to come back :)
the service was good, the staff very friendly and nice. place very clean and the food was good. I ordered the sea food platter shrimp scallops halibut. the shrimp were tiny the scallops were so small I could hardly find them....the halibut was ok. the food was good though
Best place in prince Rupert especially if you are halibut fish! Their cheese cake is also awesome. Don't miss it on your tour
The food is nothing special. We walked in our first day and had to fight for a table, we reserved the second night and we're forgotten about so we were stuffed at a small table for 4 (we were 5). So we booked again for the third night, hoping they would get it right, once again they forgot us and... more
This place only serves the freshest local produce. My only gripe is that it was all covered in batter and deep fried even the shrimps and the scallops! That was a shame but my Hake was wonderfully succulent and delicious. Not a bad price too. Shuts early however so wont take orders after 9.00pm and we got the feeling they... more
great place for fresh seafood, the fish and chips are great ,shrimp cocktail was excellent ,plus the atmosphere was a local flavour which I liked
We've eaten at Dolly's while in town in the past, so definitely wanted to go there while in town this time. They've expanded their seating area quite a bit since our last time here. Sad to say, the food didn't live up to our memories. My husband ordered his halibut without any breading, and the portion was too small to be satisfying. I had their gluten-free breaded halibut with cheese and... more
The fish and chips were excellent and my waitress was ok too but the decor needs a spruce up. Also the kids working in the retail market were so loud- swearing and gossiping, and random people would come in off the street and go behind the counter kiss the girl and leave. It was very distracting and horribly unprofessional. It... more
I grew up on the Great Lakes, love fresh water fish and rarely order salt water fish (not enough flavor). To my surprise Dolly's fish on the chips platter had as much flavor as Walleye from Lake Michigan. The thick generous portions were snow white and flaky, good sign they hadn't been out of the water long. Another surprise was... more
We had lunch at this fabulous little cafe, all the fish is fresh, you are assured of a great welcome,it was so good we went back for supper again the food was great.fresh halibut for us both.
You cannot beat this place
We recently tried out this great little restaurant in the Cow Bay area and found the portions more than generous, the seafood extremely fresh and the service very friendly. We had the Seafood Platter and the batter was light and tasty. Our new favorite seafood place in Prince Rupert!!!
Best value night is Wednesday when they offer 2 for 1 cod, chips and salad. Delicious and very reasonable price! You can't visit the coast and not go to Dolly's for fish and chips.
Staff were kind, well informed and very helpful. Service was great.
If you are visiting Prince Rupert then don't miss eating at Dolly's
Best white clam chowder soup anywhere, sometimes its fish chowder, it changes but all good. Halibut fish and chips excellent.
My Wife and I went to Dolly's on Wednesday for their "2 for the price of one Fish and Chips (salad too)" deal and had a wonderful dinner. Along with the dinner and drinks, we also split the "Deep Fried Ice Cream" for desert, and the total bill came to $31 including a 20% Tip. Dolly's is not a really... more
The only place to go to for fresh delicious seafood in Prince Rupert. Love the Gluten Free batter option.
These people know there seafood! They are friendly and knowledgeable about sea food, and it is fresh. I would eat hear again.
Not many places you can dine at in today's society where you don't have to worry about everything being artificial. It's all homemade and tasted so delicious. Went there for 3 lunches while in Rupert for workshops and got seafood the day I left. Food was fresh, service was great and the place was constantly busy. Everyone should check it... more

Had heard a lot about this, I even used to know the original owner, and finally tried it on Jan 12, 2014. Absolutely nothing was good, it was not exceptionally busy so no excuses there. They couldn't say, the kitchen was slammed, we couldn't help it.
Ordered 'seafood sampler' appetizer. just 5 pieces of over done deep-fried breaded stuff. 1...

So tasty!!! Visiting from Calgary where seafood is highly lacking, We were spoiled at Dolly's Fish Market. We visited for lunch twice during our stay in Prince Rupert. We had Fish and Chips one day, and Clam Chowder the next. Both meals were incredibly good! My boyfriend also tried the Oyster burger, which he loved!
Such a cute place. It...

Dolly's was one of my favourite places to eat in Rupert but since the renovations, it has not been the same. The portions have gone down and the prices up. This is going against what made them unique in the first place (a cheap place with great eats). I can go to the Crest if I want to pay $14... more
We went to Dolly's over Christmas and were delighted with their new renovations (even though it meant the place was packed!) - and even more delighted that their standards have not been lowered. I had excellent fish and chips while hubby had a seafood pasta dish. Happy they're back!
I know seafood, it's always fresh, tasty and at a decent price. The only criticism was a a tendency to fill up especially at lunch. Problem solved they have just completed a expansion. I'm eating dinner there tommorow.
Love love love it here! The food is delicious, fresh, and fairly priced! The service is a bit slow and not super friendly but the food it totally worth it!!
The food was excellent, very good fish and chips. The service was great, the restaurant is a little small. But the quality and service make up for that. This is the best place in town for sea food
There are not enough meals in a week to enjoy everything Dolly's has on the menu. We were there twice for dinner and the meals we ate and the ones we saw close by were fresh, tasty-looking, and a good size for the price paid. The service was excellent, the fish was right off the boat, the number of dishes... more
34 of us senior Citizens from Burns lake took a 3 night train trip to Rupert. Think just about everyone of us ate at Dolly's and it was wonderful! Everyone commented on the great food! The warm apple cranberry crisp with ice cream for dessert was wonderful! Reminded me of my Grandma's homemade mincemeat! Would recommend this place for sure!
The food was so good in the restaurant we went 3 times in 3 days in port. Lemon pepper snapper burger and smoked black cod chowder were my husbands favourites. Everything I had was amazing as well. You don't go here for the upscale lunch, it is a pack em in, eat and go kind of place but the food... more

Yummy fish & chips. Great seafood chowder. Good local character. I would go here often if I lived in Prince Rupert!
Being gluten-free, it's nice to see that they offer GLUTEN-FREE batter that is actually a lighter consistency and crispier - at NO EXTRA CHARGE- the cook and the staff told me that's how they prefer it. Another gluten-free choice on the menu is their halibut cordon blues. Absolutely phenomenal! You've got crab, shrimp, herbed butter, and cheese all inside a juicy piece of halibut and it is... more

Not only will I never eat here again I'm calling the health department. After watching an extremely unlean woman cooking shoving food down her throat then cooking some more I wanted to puke. My husband and I recently visited Prince Rupert and it was my first time in that lovely spot. We asked around for the best places to feast on seafood. I have to have FnC once a year and am glad I chose Dolly's.

Fresh fish, you can buy, you can serve it there . I mostly enjoyed the chowder and the seafood. Light deep-fried. Amazing
Cafe-like eating area, with a huge blackboard menu. Fish was excellent, serves were enormous. Everyone friendly. Many many locals eating there, not just us tourists. Also is a fish shop, and they freeze your catch too.
A fun and funky fish eatery. Great food. A very cosy restaurant and seats in this small place are at a premium during lunch and supper hours.
We ate here on a recommendation from a local, and they were spot on! The restaurant has a very welcoming and homey feel. We both had the fish and chips, and clam chowder to start. Our only regret is not having more time to come again!
I found it at long last. Thought Mr Fish in Vancouver was pretty good but Dolly's is way better. Place crowded and rightfully so. Had the Halibut and it was obviously fresh, the batter perfect and the thin cut non-British chips perfect.
Others around me had a variety of items from the chowder to stuffed fish and crabs. All reported...

Fresh and perfectly cooked, hands down it was the best battered Halibut I've ever had. Must-go when visiting Prince Rupert.
This place wasn't too busy when we arrived. It's small but intimate. Seafood is fresh and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. But best of all is the clam chowder. Chock full of seafood, it's too die for! Followed by their fresh fish and chips, it's a meal that can't be beat. And at very good price. Pity it's so... more
Fantanstic fish and chips here but the desserts are limited and the fruit pie we had was pretty awful. Definitely recommend it for the fish dishes though - wide selection, local, fresh, simply cooked and well presented.
As befits the 'Halibut Capital of the World', my husband's fish was exquisite – totally fresh and lightly cooked. My lime and chilli prawns were similarly amazing.
We ate here on two of the three nights we were in Prince Rupert; the second time we had to wait awhile, but the staff are well-organised and do their best with the...

This is a fish market and restaurant. The small restaurant is crowded with tables, occupied on the 2 occasions when we were there by many fishermen and boaters. I'm sure they know good seafood. Cream chowder

Don't forget to get some smoked salmon for the road.
Fantastic value for the money.
First of all, let's just say that I've been in many different places in my life and I've had fresh fish and fresh sea food from a few different countries. All of which were pretty amazing, especially when they have locally fished it. There is nothing better than to go buy your fish and sea food early morning in a small market by the ocean in Bataan, Philippines. By the quay in Seattle. Or by... more
If you want to indulge with fish & chips, this is the place to go! It's a hole in the wall type of place that's a little hard to find but if you're in Prince Rupert and plan on having fish & chips, you won't be disappointed. The service was incredible too. Just a group of nice girls who are charming and genuine. Nothing fancy here but well worth the visit.
Oh I really really like seafood and this was absolutely delish. Fish and chips with FRESH LOCAL halibut, Caesar salad and some fries. Life is good.
I really wanted to buy some salmon candy, but I didn't get a chance to go back :(
I wanted to try this place because of all the reviews I had read about it. My phone's yelp app had a very difficult time finding it and Prince Rupert for that matter but in the end I was able to connect and check in at Dolly's.
Immediately as you walk into the cafe you initially see the fresh fish counter. Walk a little further and you see the cafe side with perhaps 8 tables. Lucky for us we...
