There are times when all-you-can-eat sushi hits the spot just fine. But when all you crave for is the best, freshest sushi in town, Mikasa doesn't disappoint. This restaurant is perfect for a special evening among friends or a romantic evening with a loved one.
We started our meal with the fabulous Sumashi soup. HUGE pieces of fresh salmon, scallops...

Hi, I wanted to take my better half out for sushi for a while now, unfortunately for me, I am now intolerant to shell fish (found out last summer on vacation in Halifax, Maine, and Boston - great timing); but we decided to risk it. The service was perfect, the volcano salad was fantastic, the calamari was maybe the best... plus
Few weeks ago I was looking for a restaurant to bring my wife for our 20th wedding anniversary and at the same time I received a promotion from Mikasa, now I have been going to Mikasa for many years but it was mainly for business purpose so I decided to try it out for that special occasion. All I can... plus
As I have travelled, eaten in wonderful establishments and know good food and service...I have never been so disappointed...NO DISGUSTED with a meal like this! Being a customer for eat-in and take out at Mikasa for years, I decided to place a phone order for pick up...knowing that the food was excellent and service the same. I picked up my... plus
It's one of the best sushi bar. I tried so many sushi bars and this one you HAVE to try ... When it busy they may be delay with your order, but the quality of the food is GOOD.
We needed a late night snack so I went for takeout, got there just before closing-the sushi chefs were tired and joked they couldn't do it, then said "yes". I sat there for 10 minutes watching them...Teir faces looked tired-they looked like they had been standing at the sushi bar making 100's of the same things all day, but their... plus
We went to a high scale Japanese restaurant, but it was more than we wanted. They recommend Mikasa. We are so glad they did. While still white linen table clothes, it was a little more relaxed. Everything we ate was so delicious and artfully prepared, we were ohhhing and ahhhing the whole evening.
Their sushi menu is very unique. I...

Good service and excellent food,
We particularly enjoyed the innovative and unique sushi and rolls that this restaurant offers.
The first time I went, I was really impressed with the sushi made by Chef Steven. Delicious fish, great composition, he even threw in some extras. Second time, Steven was not there and I was disappointed. I took the Choice of the chef as I often do, I liked the nigiri, but was disappointed in having a chicken (!) roll.... plus
if you like sushi, and come from an area where sushi is one of the prime foods, don't go here. very disappointed. sushi was average. atmosphere was stuffy. but our waiter was super nice and the saki was good.
Great Sushi, Great Service, Beautiful Presentation and Ambiance.
Staff is Friendly and Very Helpful If You Have Any Questions Regarding What To Order.
Great sushi restaurant with both tasty and exquisitely presented sushi. Been here about 4 times and never had a bad meal - always left very content.
Absolutely delicious! The specials were the best. Not only wonderful to eat but just beautiful to look at. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. The only complaint was that the menus were a bit confusing so we needed to ask a lot of questions. We have the hang of it for next time though.
This is our favorite sushis place, as we know the owner, we always get the best plate on the menu..
Service is excellent and they serve the best Lichee Martinis.. in town!!
Can't wait to go back...this is a message for my boyfriend!!!
Very good food and service excellent .the speciality especially are the best . Every week I'm there for lunch . The salmon tartar is my favourite !!!!!'
Sushi restaurants, by their very nature, are really difficult to review. Because you are eating raw food, it is harder for the chef to hide behind sauces and tons of garlic or salt. It sometimes comes down to the time of the day, or the day of the week. While I enjoy most sushi, consistency is not always there. FRESH... plus
Best sushi in mtl! Bit pricey & sometimes long but worth it!!!
This is possibly the best place in Montreal for sushi, but the wait is long sometimes and it is very pricey. If you want quality you have to pay the price. Nice staff though.
food was ok at best there are many better sushi in Montreal
Sushi pizza was definitely the highlight. At fist glance it does not appear to be something that a sashimi/sushi lover would gravitate towards, but it often seems to define a good izakawa type Japanese restauirant. The ring of fire specialty roll was very good, the Volcano salad had grilled calamari on top, generous potion, further topped with a delicious roe,... plus
Having been more times than i can count, its only fair that i take the time to review this sushi restaurant. The food is great, especially the printannier rolls made of rice paper, the dragon eye is also a favorite. Always pretty full, better to reserve ahead ; )
Creative dishes, exciting rolls and combinations. Good service and a fun, exotic atmosphere. Great quality and a great find. Convenient to downtown, right on Peel street in Center-ville, though we hear their other locations are just as good. Open late night (we walked in after 9 pm and there were 3 other parties seated) and decent pricing for sushi.
The sushi here was phenomenal. Service was slow, but not rude at all. I would DEFINITELY go back again and again!
My favorite sushi restaurant. It is excellent! A must while in Montreal.
It was delicious this is probably the best sushi you will ever taste and the personel is so polite and effective Two big thumbs up 5 star fos sure
Sushis are excellent but the service isn't... plus
Excellent sushi, very fresh...melts in your mouth
amazing sushi. a little expensive tho.
This is my favourite! Beautiful, elegant atmosphere. Wonderful friendly service. The colors of the ingredients in the maki pop off the plate. Very appetizing! Make sure to order the speciality - tuna or salmon spring rolls (rice paper wraps) infused with strawberries, mangoes, avocadoes etc. TO DIE FOR. GO! Run! GO! The best!
Too good!!!!! A discovery of sushi art... Possibility of private room for groups.
Good sashimi, makis, tempuras, and free parking!
This is my favorite sushi restaurant in Montreal. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent food, and very nice environment & service!
A recent lunch visit was not very good. Otherwise, the dinner's I've had there were excellent.
Amazing sushi restaurant. Food is soo fresh, taste like just came off the vine/sea/tree.... It is a little expensive, but it is an amazing experiance in the Japanese culture! Decor is suberp! Reservations are recommended, Mikasa offers Lunch And Supper.
