This hotel was built in the early 1980'2 and it shows. It is tired and the furniture is very dated. After waiting in line for 20 minutes to check in at 1:00pm while a lone girl checked in the line-up. There was no one else to be seen (no concierge either). I had a difficult time unlocking the door to my room (they still use the huge 1980's brass keys). A chamber maid came by and said "they stick a lot" and offered to show me "the trick" to make it work.
After a day of meetings, I came back and found my door ajar. Nothing was missing, but for some reason my room door was open.
I received a coupon for a free breakfast when I checked in, which I redeemed, yet $14.95 was on my bill at check out. It was removed when I pointed it out. Speaking of check out, the desk clerk was droning on and on to me about about how bad the economy was and how bad the political climate was in Ottawa. What an up lifting goodbye!
Other points that annoyed me: a faulty lamp switch that had to be "jiggled" to stay on and no facial tissue in the empty box. This week, I've stayed at the Delta Centreville and Omni Hotels in Montreal and the Lakeview Inn in Summerside, PEI. The Delta Prince Edward doesn't rate anywhere near any of these properties (though they charge similar to the downtown Montreal rates and the Lakeview is $50 cheaper per night).
I can only recommend that you stay somewhere other than the Delta Prince Edward. I don't know how they can justify their rates to themselves.
Adjoining the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre and positioned next to Peake's Wharf, this high-rise hotel occupies an ideal spot from which to explore the waterfront and historic downtown on foot. Rooms have the typical comforts you'd expect from the Delta brand, and many have harbor views. Hotel facilities include a large indoor pool, fitness club, and day spa, as well as in-house dining... more
A 10-story hotel overlooking the harbor, the Prince Edward is stocked with business-travel amenities like coffeemakers, hair dryers, very helpful customer service, and cordless phones (in about half the rooms). The very best "deluxe" rooms are furnished in reproduction Georgian-style furniture, and have two-person Jacuzzis; others have more standard oak and beige laminate furnishings. Higher... more
The hotel is located with very good views. It is very conveniece to visit any places in the island. Car pool is also served and price is reasonable.
Our reservation was for a room with a king size bed. The only room available when we arrived was one with two double beds which cost $50.00 less that what we paid. nice and central, room was clean and bright. bed especially comfy. like being able to walk to confed centre and good restaurants. plan to stay there again.
My stay at the Delta far exceeded my expectations! The room was one of the finest I've ever stayed in anywhere! The hotel location was close to many great places to eat (Mearchant Man, Olde Dublin Pub, The Gahan House) just to name a few... The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room overlooked a cove and cruise ships could be seen in harbour for 2 or 3 days. Sitting we appeared to be on one of them, that is we could no longer see the waterfront. On arrival we had not been given a room accessible to handicaps but the hotel was prepared to make the accommodation even providing an appropriate chair for the shower because their little folded down variety had no bar to... more
Stayed here for the Fall Flavours Festival. Close to Culinary Institute and downtown area and shopping. Booked child sitting services and were very pleased with her services (my daughter just loved her).
Came to Charlottetown for the Shania Twain concert which was great ....Hotel staff was amazing. Recieved a renovated room ,which was very nice , very fast Wi-fi ..... all in all a good stay. Parking could have been cheaper especially when parking is free on the weekends in Charlottetown ( so I was told )
Close to downtown, rooms were clean and updated in the last few months.
Clean, helpful staff,up to date room. Only negative things to say was $50.00 charge on my credit card plus parking when I checked out. I emailed the hotel and received an answer the same day telling me the $50.00 charge is standard for check in and it would be refunded within days and it was. Hotel and parking is expensive but I would stay there again.
close to downtown, restaurants and shops and chose hotel as it was close to the Shania Twain venue, walking distance. Service was great and the new renovations were very modern and clean.
Overall, a decent stay however the booking got mixed up as I reserved a king size bed and only received a queen.
Stayed August 21st. staff knocked at door at 8;30 to tell us check-out at 10:00. I have fibromyalgia and was having a bad flare up. needed to stay in bed until the last minute. never been in a hotel (of this caliber) where staff disturbs you to tell you check out time. felt like they were rushing us out. Last time we stay at your hotel. Cecile Robichaud
facilities need repair. we had to change room shortly after checking in as the carpet was wet due to leaking pipes. staff at front desk could be friendlier and more helpful
When I booked this hotel through expedia.ca I was informed that expedia.ca had requested a room with handicapped accessibility. We did not have a room with accessibility to the bathroom facilities. The week-end was extremely difficult especially trying to bath a handicapped individual. Using the bathtub and toilet facilities was almost impossible.
EXPENSIVE, I felt to charge two different rates for two nights in a row was, ridiculous... and to be charged for parking on top of that was very unfair as I am a senior. The talk at the race track was that The Delta was known for abusing guests when there were special occasions in the area. I will never consider recommending the Delta to any of my senior friends who like to take in Old Home... more

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was spacious with a day bed near the window and a view of the Charlottetown harbor. Comfortable room, good indoor swimming pool, close to everything and on the waterfront. Parking was extra but a not unreasonable $17 per day. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was close to everything. The staff was always helpful and the rooms were great. I will stay here again.
As soon as we walked into our room there were workers on a scaffolding right outside our window. We had a great view but the next two days we had to keep our window curtain closed and put up with construction noise . We complained to the hotel desk that they should have known what room they were giving us and forewarned us about it . We wondered if they give 'not so desirable' rooms to expedia... more
The air conditioning unit blows right in your face when you are lying in bed. Perhaps it should be redirected. It would be nice if the daily paper was delivered to one's room . As As I was looking for one the staff offered one and the comment was made that if left on the office desk, it would be taken by other than the customers.
The first night at 330 a.m. I phoned the desk as the people in the next room were loudly conversing. The second day the cleaning staff did not wash the glasses nor change the dirty bedspread cover and each morning were quite loud. Third day no shampoo or conditioner was left in the room. The last day there was a 'Run for color" on the street and the hotel was blocked so our exit from the... more
The Prince Edward was a great place to ride out post tropical storm at the start of our PEI vacation.
Hotel is in the heart of the small provincial capital, and although a little overpriced was worth it for us. Staff was a very helpful and the housekeeping was first-rate.
Spent 4 days in PEI and had an awsome time. The hotel was the icing on the cake as the staff were very polite, curious and ready to answer any questions. The facilities were clean, well maintained and easy to access for people with disabilities. The food at the hotel restaurant was great and fresh. I would recomend this place for anyone wanting to visit or do buisness there.
Hotel was nice, easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Right on the harbour, so scenic location. Rooms are fine, ate at the outdoor patio restaurant - good but very limited menu. Would stay here again.
The parking garage is a disaster. You should number sections and spaces.
Staying for a week for a conference. Brand new rooms and meeting rooms. The environment is modern and welcoming. Beds are comfortable, rooms are very clean and large. So impressed with the facilities and staff at this hotel. Stayed in a ocean view room and loved it.
Arrived off a flight at 1 am. Drilling started at 7 am. The desk was unaware of the early start. The rooms are clean and comphy, the staff friendly and knowlegable about the area. It's in a fantastic location, walking distance to some good restaurants and attractions. Had a really good breakfast in the restaurant. Everything you would expect from a Delta hotel.
I recently stayed here for one night. This hotel has just undergone renovation and all of the rooms are like new; very clean and very spacious. The hotel location is also excellent as it is right in the middle of downtown. The price was reasonable. When I return to Charlottetown this hotel will be my first choice.
I stayed her for five nights in early April, for the ECMA conference based in the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, very comfy, and well equipped for business travellers with the smart desks, wired into the TV. Every member of staff was excellent to deal with, from the maids to the bar and reception staff.
However, despite earlier...

My overall experience was excellent. It was my first trip to PEI and the stay at the Delta hotel was excellent. It was very clean and the staff were friendly.
New rooms are nice - I would say fairly standard, but the pool and fitness centre are great. The staff are island nice. (Which means very nice) and the surrounding area is just fantastic. Great restaurants great shops and great harbour front for walks.
Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Indoor parking. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. Bar & restaurant on site.
Third stay here and from what I can tell the renovations coming along. The front lobby has a larger bar and a smaller restaurant than the previous footprint. There are so many places to eat within walking distance that the restaurant seemed way to big anyway.
Was in a harbour view room that was very clean and comfortable.

Although the Delta was centrally located, I would choose another hotel next time. It wasn't that the staff aren't great, its just that the rooms are so tired. I know that they are in the midst of a refresh, but it is moving slowly.

I can't say enough about the staff working at this hotel. We checked in on New Years Eve - probably the busiest day of the year given that a major NYE event was happening at the hotel. We chose the Delta Prince Edward in Charlotte, Prince Edward Island as our center for finding our way around the island. Considering the price I was charged for the room, I found the decor tired looking and not entirely up to standard for the price. I stayed for a week at the hotel, the staff was super friendly. There was a gym and swimming pool. There was also a mini fridge so that I could put light snacks to keep them cool. The bed was so comfy with four huge plush pillows, I had a good night sleep each night.
In for a short trip in the fall. It looks a little outdated on the outside. Lobby is small; surprisingly, the front desk is quite small for a hotel. Rooms were okay.
