Overall, this hotel was nice, and the staff were kind. However, one thing muddled the stay. The bathroom sink did not drain. When we left for the evening, we told the front desk so that they could request for maintenance to take a look. We returned approximately 4 hours later and the sink was in the same condition. After calling again, they sent a security guard who just unscrewed the metal... more
Good experience - friendly staff - in for one night not there long - very clean
Staff were informative and friendly. We enjoyed facilities eating in Atrium restaurant, exercise room, and had a very good sleep in clean bed and clean bathroom facilities. Nothing really to complain about.
My introduction to this hotel was the charming and professional young men I encountered at the front desk. It set the tone immediately. Subsequently, everyone I had occasion to interact with re-enforced this first impression, from housekeeping to management. Anytime I met a hotel employee, I was greeted and acknowledged with pleasant smiles and a cheery "Hello" or "Good Morning".The employees... more
Good overall for a break away, check in was a little slow, room was mixed up, but room service food was great
it was a nice hotel, was given an free upgrade, only problem I had was placed right next to ice machine and could hear it turning on every half and hour. the only other problem was children running through the hotel at late hours of the night, interrupting my sleep.
great hotel, staff friendly, hotel clean and comfortable, great value
Just needed the room for a nights sleep. It was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Clean, comfortable, good service, well equipped gym. TV had some issues with the digital reception on a couple channels.
I booked a hotel and paid well over $400. Upon arrival, I thought the hotel was not as nice as the price would indicate. So I asked about it, and the person at the desk told me that due to the show in town, the elevate their prices dramatically. This seems like "Gouging" to me!?!?I'm a loyal customer, and was not attending a show of any kind. This seemed like I was taken advantage of!!
We love so much about this hotel but the noise on our last trip was unbearable. Carts going on tile floors to the elevator in the middle of the night out side our door. Drunk guests pounding on doors and yelling from the third floor down to the desk. Security would do well to be more visble in stopping this... more
I would first like to say I have never stayed at this hotel, this review is solely based on the restaurant
We recently had brunch at your Delta Calgary South location on Sunday April 27th. I myself am a Calgarian born and raised and have been to this location for brunch several times and have always left full and impressed....

We just spent the weekend in Calgary, and stayed at the Delta hotel. We were traveling with my baby, who they accommodated very well. The room was recently renovated and was very clean, comfy, and modern. We stayed on the atrium side which was really nice, made use of the hot tub and had breakfast brunch both mornings. They even... more
A fair size group of us (80) had rooms this weekend for a family event. Most of us had at least one comment.
Male staff members asking women for their room numbers in pubic, maybe innocent, but certainly poor security training.
An undercooked omelet is returned burned black on round 2.
A complaint against a bar tender leads to refusal...

We chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to the lrt. Room was decent and clean. Hotel was quiet, front desk staff courteous and efficient. We ate in the pub and the food was good. The waitress heard us say we were running a little late and put a rush on our order. Altogether a positive experience.
The Delta Calgary South is well-located for a business traveller, like myself, visiting locations in Southern Calgary, thus minimizing the time spent sitting in traffic.
Knowing I was in the Atrium, not the tower, I drove directly to the atrium entrance and parked in their convenient outdoor lot with plenty of spaces available. On entering, I was greeted by a...

I spent 4 nights here in April when I was in Calgary on business. Check in was quick, we actually were able to get into the room 3 hours early which was great for us. The staff are all extremely friendly and always in great moods. The room was a decent size, two queen beds, desk, dresser, TV, small fridge,... more
The hotel sits on two separate blocks with a high level walkway between them. The Atrium has recently been refurbished, but unfortunately the Tower hasn't and the rooms are looking very shabby. If you have a dog you have to stay in the Tower.
There is no air conditioning available, just central heating that you don't have very much control...

We arrived, inquired about upgrades, were advised for a small fee, we could upgrade to a suite.

I stayed at the Delta Calgary South for a business meeting in April. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had excellent service.

I stayed at the Delta on short notice after coming to Calgary to watch a Flames game on a Friday night. I stayed in a Delta King room. The bed was extremely comfortable. Have stayed several times recently, and like all Delta properties staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms in the "Atrium" as opposed to the "Tower" are much nicer. I don't usually have time for breakfast when i'm travelling on business, but the couple of times I've tried it i was very impressed; its a cut above most hotel breakfasts.
Here is the scoop on this hotel. We have been staying at this hotel for 13 years when visiting relatives. There are 2 parts to the hotel- tower and atrium. We have never, until recently, stayed in the tower as we have our preference of rooms. We travel as a family and the kids obviously love pools. We generally book... more
Brief stay as in town for overnight business trip.
Staff was friendly and efficient.
Recently renovated room and bathroom were clean. Shower had great pressure.
Appreciated complimentary Starbucks coffee station near desk, was stocked by 6 AM so no need to head out in cold to find coffee before meeting.
I stayed here for a few days as I normally do on Calgary business trips. Maybe I'm just getting old but this time I found myself a bit worn from all the walking in this hotel. The room was a hike from the restaurant and I had to use both front desks for various reasons which was a real jaunt.... more
My family and I stayed here over New Years and thoroughly enjoyed it! We'd been given a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room in the Atrium building. They were quick to respond... more
Stayed at many other deltas and this hotel doesn't compare. Definitely needs to have some quality control in the cleaning department. Seat in a family suite that had been updated but only partially. Had dirty stained carpet and needed a paint job. Prob won't return for the price we paid unless some up keep and up dating is done
Great place to stay while in Calgary. Close to shopping. They are kid friendly and have great pools:) The rooms were clean and we enjoyed the food available in the hotel. Will definitely stay there again.
My co-worker and I were very excited for our weekend conference and a nice cozy room after our 3 1/2 hour snowy drive.

We stayed here because it was close to the Rocky View hospital. We needed a good nights sleep prior to surgery so chose the slightly pricier club room. It was perfect! The service at this hotel was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff who go the extra mile to ensure guest comfort. This hotel is great access to both the south of Calgary and Downtown. They provided me with some of the best service that I have received yet at a hotel and I travel frequently. The buffet breakfast is a MUST! They will definitely be my hotel of choice in Calgary into the future!
I work in Calgary and my company was having a two day forum out at Spruce Meadows. I title my review "good" business hotel because my overall rating would be good but there is nothing between the "average" and "very good" ratings. My family also booked Thanksgiving dinner in the Atrium Café and were very disappointed. We chose this hotel based on it's location and price. We were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to stay a little up-scale but not break our pocket book.

One night spent at the hotel in preparation for a meeting in the immediate area.
Pretty good overall and nothing significantly negative that I might now remember - that's a good sign. Staff at the restaurant in the Atrium section were particularly accommodating.
Rooms are very dated, mattresses seem to be 100 years old, and the controller for the A/C does not seem to respond to the settings (I could not turn the a/c off!, the fan kept going throughout the night). Internet connection was really bad, I could barely send and receive a few emails, not to mention not being able to... more

It may not be the hotel's fault but when they book wedding parties that party in the hallways between 2-5 a.m. in the morning and you call security 3 times to no avail, something should be done with their security policy. They should have called the policy and removed the partiers!
Delta is a large chain of 40+ hotels in many Canada cities and none in the United States. As such a large chain, they know how to operate and provide services as well as any Hilton or Marriott property. But they are affiliated with neither, which as a Marriott Platinum I find to be a bummer.
But once we get past that, it's a nice property. Nice location on MacLeod Trail and a short walk to the...

Company Christmas party was held last evening at this hotel - second year I have attended. Well, lets start with the parking - plentiful and well cleared from the last snow which is we are dressed up in our Sunday-best. “Great place to stay, central to where we wanted to be, easily accessible.”
This review is solely on the Delta's Easter brunch.
Good brunch, lots of options ... like most buffets, not the highest quality, but definitely satisfying for an early afternoon of copious feasting.
The staff is actually very friendly and very accommodating. I thought of giving the place 4 stars based on their performance, but I think primary importance in the rating is the food itself.
The Delta South is very well suited for a business traveller and families. The hotel has two pools and well equipped work out center. Very nice restaurant in the atrium.
This is my new home in Calgary.
- Very clean
- Super-friendly staff
- Easy drive south on McLeod Trail from the city
- Nice little gym
- Really good breakfast buffet in the atrium
- Big Gusher waterslide - opens at 9am - lots of fun
- Boomtown Pub is attached and has great food, beer and atmosphere
Note - WiFi is free if you are a Delta Privilege member. I am not sure of the price otherwise.
the weather at Calgary was extremely cold (-31c/-24F) but the hotel's enclosed courtyard with a pool, a cafe and a collection of plants brought a tropical feel to the wintry gloom. The rooms in the courtyard had balconies that faced the open atrium with it's beautiful views.the service was wonderful and friendly.
“ The room exceeded our expectations, the staff was the best we have encountered anywhere. The facilities were very nice, good clean pools and hot tubs. ”
From check-in to check-out the staff was more than accommodating, the room was super clean, excellent food in the Atrium restaurant......overall, we were pleased to have stayed there.
