More satisfied than I thought I would be. Rented 3 rooms for family getaway. Very helpful staff, Keys were ready when we arrived even though we changed our reservation two days prior to arrival.. Room very clean and comfortable. Dog walk area convenient.
Cannot go anywhere at rush hour, property is old and run down, room was poorly light, entrance/exit was inconvenient with the sliding door since locking mechanisms are not functional from outside. Not likely to stay here again.
Both lights in the room did not work which left 3/4s of the room too dark including the desk area. There was no hot water on Sat or Sun---no rate reduction was given for this! The beds were stiff and hard. I would never go back or recommend this place!
Older hotel, bit yje room was clean and comfortable for one over night stay. Bathroom shower was small.
-Very old -Carpets lifts when doors open/close -Constant smell of smoke -Walls so thin can hear everything from other rooms Just aweful stay.
Quick stay only to set up Queens University student
Although the rooms were clean and the staff accommodating, the environment was that of a cheap seaside resort. The exterior of the building was not well kempt and worryingly the door of my the main floor room was not secure. It was not until the morning after my first night that I realized the lock had been reset inexpertly and as a result did not latch. As a single woman this was a very... more
Every door in the place does not open or close properly
Last min week end trip to Kingston. We weren't expecting much with a hotel, and book something in our budget. Pleased and would do it again!
Hotel is older and worn. Lobby was fresh and bright but rooms in need of upgrades. If the price were lower it would be reasonable but too expensive for the overall quality.
very good, easy access to hwy 401, lots of conveniences close by. clean. Good food available at Dennys. Lots of parking. over all a very enjoyable time. I found it difficult for plugging in the computer and phone. A good power bar would help in an accessible place. One lamp had no bulb so lighting was dim. With the snooze sign posted outside the door a cleaning staff interrupted my niece who... more
Very clean, beds & pillows were very comfortable. We were happy with the location of our room and access to our vehicle.
I travel across Canada and some in the US whom ever owns this place has a different concept of renovated compared to what I have. The outside looks terrible possibly due to taxes and the inside was redone some but the rooms smell the furniture must have been bought at a 1950S used furniture store ect ect. If you compare to some other that I stay at you sure cannot expect people to pay the same... more
Stayed in room 147. Booked a king bed but one side of the mattress was truly broken and sagged so much it was like sleeping in a hammock. To top it all, the pillow was lumpy. Never again!!
Spent one night and it was awesome.
I now know why there is no picture of the exterior of the hotel. We almost left to get another room but there none avalaible. Would not go back.
Staff @ reception who we met upon arrival better work outside hospitality sector.
Outdated building and old furniture, but bed mattresses were extremely comfortable! Good for a short stay and the Denny's attached is open late with great service and food.
At almost $180 it's a joke . Room was clean but it's a $75 hotel
I understand Kingston is a historical place, but this hotel feels very dated. I felt like I was walking backward in time.
Overpriced, very noisy air conditioning, small bathrooms, overall not great
In bad need of overhaul refreshing! However a good mattress for overnight sleep and runaway on the next morning!
We were very disappointed in this hotel....we arrived to find the room dirty and not clean, there was pee on the bathroom floor, the manager came to clean the bathroom which we appreciated but she did not have a mop she just had a rag and a spray bottle of cleaner. After she was finished the pee spots were still on the floor.....our room was filled with mosquitoes....we spent a great deal of... more
Check in and check out were very smooth. I was able to park in front of my room andbrign my luggage in directly.
Was good in general, but the cigaret smell was aweful. Will not go again because of that.
Our stay for a family reunion was very enjoyable. The Hotel is close to restaurants and has a Denny's on site.
The first thing I noticed is that desk was very duty under the glass, could do with taken the glass off and cleaning underneath it. Also there was a blue stain on the shower/bath. Also when I got back to the hotel room after being out for the day, after the first and second night. I found that my room was not serviced at all, it was left the same way that I left it. even though I was the... more
The front lobby of the hotel was clean and bright, but that is where it ended. The guest services staff were rude and aloof. The hallways were dingy and dark. It was very outdated. The rooms themselves weren't bad, not overly luxurious but they were comfortable. The bathroom was gross, and the ice bucket bag was used, then folded again. There was soapy residue on the counter and our towels had... more
The room was not fancy, but had free wifi and was very clean. Iron and ironing board were very convenient, as was the mini fridge that allowed me to have my own drinks in the room. Price is reasonable.
It was pleasant and i was very satisfied with the service and the friendliness of the staff, i will definitely stay there again
Was in a lurch as we were in the city for my son's basketball tournament. Didn't have a room booked and got this last minute. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, as the style was more of a motel style than a hotel. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean, but it had a run down sort of feel to it. If you're looking for a place to crash for a couple days then this will definitely... more
We were there for one night. It was perfect for that. It's a little expensive for the quality and condition of the rooms. I think we were lucky to have gotten a recently renovated room. I wouldn't stay there for an extended holiday but over night is perfect.
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room appeared dated and worn, its needs updating. The walls are thin, so don't be surprised if you can hear your neighbors conversations. The beds are quite confortable which is a definite asset.
We were looking for a cost efficient place to stay before we crossed the border the next morning. This place offered two queen beds in a rather large room for the best price of the group. It wasn't anything fancy but we weren't looking for anything better than a quick spot to sleep before the next morning. The reception was pleasant and the room was satisfactory. Clean room, enough channels on... more
Stayed in the building furthest from main lobby! The doors were dirty, the floors were not vacuumed, the door to room had to be pushed firmly to open. There were holes in the carpet, the desk chair had seen better days, and the heating system was causing curtain to rise from the forced air. Had a room that adjoined to another door so sound travelled easily, which was the biggest reason I... more
I think they should tear it down. We had slamming doors all night. A poor dog was left in the room across the hall to cry and scratch at the door while owners went out. People partying way into the night so hardly any sleep. The halls just about choked us with whatever disinfectant they are using and carpet looked at least twenty years old. Don't get me started on the stains in the toilet.... more
I was satisfied, as I could not get any rooms around the area at the last minute. I found the lighting very dim in the room, ( I am a senior )and have a hard time to see if no lighting, is provided. The first thing I noticed, and wondered about, as I arrived, was the cleanness, of the hotel,( it) was the entrance from the outside door, that made me wonder, the window, was very dirty, and the... more
Conference centre? No way. Rooms are mediocre and door doesn't close properly. Not too sure if the heater works or not, a bit noisy but not really warm unless you sit a metre away. Seem as a bother to the staff to check-in or even asking a question. At that rate, I would think it might include a breakfast. Staying there with kids but had to ask Denny's coupons for kids, I would think they... more
Hotel staff were great, but it seems that people stand in the sliding door of their non-smoking room and smoke, so while the whole corridor was non-smoking, it smelled of smoke and my room had a vaguely smokey smell. I complained, and I think they had someone air out my room, as it was freezing later. However, the heater worked well to bring it back up to normal, the fridge, microwave,... more
It is a Days Inn - a no frills hotel for a good price and my ratings are based on this. If you want luxurious services for your trip, then you are looking at the wrong hotel. If you need somewhere to stay for a night (or a couple of nights) near the 401, then you will get a hot shower, a friendly smile at check in, a clean bed and a discount to the food served at Denny's.
Older hotel but clean enough. Perfect for a 2 night stay. Some improvements are under way, Flat screen TV's and adjustable beds
The hallways were not clean. The paint on the walls were nicked. The colours of both the rooms and hallway were very dark and gloomy. The room supplied just the bare basics,...not even facial tissue, The beds were hard and worn-out. The carpets were worn and not very clean.
very basic not as nice as pictures show bathrooms cramped
Easy to find - staff friendly and helpful - good value for money
My husband and I had our wedding reception and also stayed overnight at the Days Inn in June 2008. I was treated with kindness and respect the whole time. All the staff was wonderful to us. All my expectations were met and then some. It was a beautiful reception and all my guests enjoyed themselves. The food was amazing. I recommend the Days Inn for a wedding reception. The hotel rooms are... more
Yes. Friendly staff. Clean and nice room.
The bed was a little too soft- kept rolling towards the middle. There was a peewee hockey tournament filling the place but we arrived after bedtime for most. Heating system was noisy but it did the job. Watch out for cold tiles in the bathroom area. Coffee machine, hair dryer and free internet were much appreciated! Staff was efficient and helpful. The price was right.
Upon arrival to our room, the door wouldn't fully open, the vanity in the bathroom was very small, my wife had no place to put her make-up on counter top and the patio doors and windows were filthy and I found the room on the small side. However, the room was very clean and the king size bed was very comfortable and also found the Denny's Restaurant which is attached to the main lobby very... more
Good size rooms. Clean and comfortable. Good hotel if you only want a place to sleep and move on. Dannys does offer a large range of reasonably priced breakfast.
far away from downtown, spacious rooms, good value for money, cheap and OK.
Great price, I paid $74/night, including all taxes. Room clean, bed good, close to work.I got this great rate by booking 3 nights and paying at time of booking. Very happy.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helped with our early check in. Rooms in the older "Motel" looking section are dated and need updating to match the elegant look of the main entrance interior. Unable to comment on newer separate building on site.Room security is a question when locks that are to secure a ground floor patio door are not even screwed down.Very heavy citrus scent greeted us when... more
This hotel was right off the highway making it easy to find. Lots of places to eat right close by. The Denny's attached to the hotel make it easy just to order food. It's too far away to walk downtown however it would be less then a 10 minute drive. Overall, nice place. Reasonably priced and clean.
People were very polite and nice. We were let into our room e.arly. The rooms were a little tired looking and the bed could have been more comfortable and the linens were old fashioned. I did swim in the pool and I liked the location near good shopping outlets
Stayed Saturday night only, most rooms overlook the carpark which was busy with people coming, going. There must have been a party going on as lots of people were stood around smoking & chatting until the early hours. Room itself was ok but air-con didn't work & bathroom was dated. overall, cheap & basic. If we stayed in Kingston again we would look for a different hotel.
