Like other reviewers have mentioned, the smell is terrible. It's like the place flooded years ago, and was never fully dried out.
I think the only thing that would get rid of this smell, would be to rip out the interior back to the concrete, and replace everything.

Perfect overnight stay & close to the airport

The Crowne Plaza is a basic hotel, but that said it works on many levels. It's close to the airport and for the price point you are getting a clean room that is well maintained with hotel staff that are friendly and efficient. The restaurant comes recommended and I can see why. I very much enjoyed my meal. The wine list has something for every taste and the prices were decent.

The room was loud due to old AC units, bed was hard but room was clean. Upon check out I noticed that I had been charged for breakfast that I had included in the room price. I also received a $45 parking ticket from their lot even though I paid 14 a day to park. Musty A/C, uncomfortable bed

A/C smelt musty so they upgraded us. Still musty smell but not as bad. Bed was very uncomfortable and squeaky. To me the reason I stay at a hotel is to sleep. I don't understand why the bed isn't top priority......instead of granite!!! Sure granite is nice but if my back hurts in the am. I could care less about decor.

It was mostly very good. The staff were friendly and attentive and the service was very good. Clean, well-maintained, good quality fittings etc. Shuttle bus to airport every 30 minutes. Very helpful driver who wasn't afraid to load and unload large cases. Only criticism--the breakfast croissants were tiny and poor quality. Please look into that, folks. Stay at Crowne Plaza was mediocre

The hotel staff provided adequate service. The hotel was quiet and not busy during my overnight stay between Sat Aug 23-Sun Aug 24. The hotel rooms were very clean, but I woke up with my back strained from the mattress being uncomfortable. My queen-bed room looked different from what photos appear to be on the internet, this hotel is closer to 3-stars than 3.5-stars.

The only thing I didn't like about this experience was when a bus load came from the airport. Good hotel by the airport. Price was just around $100. Staff is responsive. There is a bar and restaurant inside. Shuttle to and from the airport was pretty responsive and timely. The Park Plaza at Toronto Airport has been refurbished and renamed the Crowne Plaza. Not a good base for downtown Toronto - that is a good 40 min bus and metro ride away but its only a 10 minute walk from our conference centre. The first room we checked into the comforter was stained and the sheets had hair in them. Went downstairs and asked for a new room. told the clerk the problem and he asked if we wanted a new room. Room was small and we couldn't sleep because the lady in the next room to us was very loud. When I booked the room I was supposed to get free breakfast vouchers but had to go ask for them at the desk. The buffet breakfast was cold.

I reached Toronto early in the morning and asked if they could check me in early. They gave me a room at 10 in the morning.

I like hotel rooms with an openable window to allow fresh air. I stay in the Crowne Plaze whenever I can as it is one of very few Toronto airport hotels with this feature.

The rooms smell sandpaper sheets and towels rooms are dry you'll wake up with a sore throat

this place is horrible. from the hard as a rock beds, to the sand paper sheets and the cramped rooms. refrigerators are on a first come first serve basis and the staff wont accommodate if they don't feel like it. the shuttle to and from the airport is horrible also.

The hotel had a very pleasant envirnoment with a relaxing surrounding. My room was clean and my needs tended by the staff. There is a daily parking fee of $14 and change. The hotel allow you to make free local telephone call for the first 10 minutes.

Handy for overnight connections

Hotel was nice and close to the airport. Room was clean and comfortable. I found this Crowne plaza better than most of those I visited in US. The only drawback was the very noisy air conditioning system and the long wait for the complimentary shuttle bus. I would recommend this hotel for anyone having a long connection in YYZ.

Parking is EXTRA

This was a nice hotel. The room was clean. The staff was friendly. I was not aware of the $14 per night fee for parking. The pool was on the small side. There was live entertainment in the hotel restaurant and several other places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.

Too noisy for words

It was very difficult to sleep since it sounded as if the planes were going to land in my room.

Weekend in hell

the room,the king size bed I prepaid did not materialize. The hotel forced me to accept a smaller room with a queen size bed. "Take it or leave it" I was told at the reception desk. I did not receive any credit for the downgrade. The same thing happened to my friends [...] and her husband, worse the hotel charge them extra to give them a king size bed;based on my recommendation[...]

This did a grand opening or re-opening (im not too sure if it existed before) with new owners late 2009.
My work did our Christmas party here that year so my review will be mostly based on that. The food was awesome, the service was good, and the bar... well that needed a lot of work on. Pouring juice out of a can ruined the rest of the "we are a fancy place" feel.

I think the bed would have slept better if the pillows did not flattened excessively when you lay your head on them. Well appointed with friendly staff

Small room very nicely decorated. Convenient to airport. Hotel compensated for planes overhead and a lack of blackout curtains with complimentary earplugs and eye mask. Staff was friendly.

Room was missing drapes (only shears)& with a large light outside window, sleeping was difficult. They did provide eye covers & ear plugs. Hotel was very busy & noisy but room was very nice.
