Okay - I grew up in Sarnia and worked downtown as a teenager but never knew this place existed. Shame. I went there this week for a business meeting breakfast not knowing what to expect. Great service & value

Can't beat a $5 breakfast that fills the void! Generous portions with great service. Full service restaurant but with the best breakfast around town!

Good food, nice staff, reasonable prices

The food portions are wonderful and all the food is fresh and homemade!!!Love that all the specials come with a little sweet treat for dessert!!This place is busy for a reason..!!! worth the visit, it is a basic diner with good everything but MUST have the homemade gravy and homemade rice pudding (just not together.LOL)

Slow

The food is great and I must say I have never been disappointed in anything in any dish I have eaten here. However if you value your time you will go somewhere else. It has never been anything but deadly slow. The last time was unbearable, lots so places are busy but they still serve food in a timely fashion.

My breakfast go-to

As a fellow restauranteur, I can recommend THE CROMWELL as a go-to breakfast joint. My place doesn't open until 11am so I often gobble up the calories at THE CROMWELL. Great greasy breakfast served with attitude and a coffee cup that never runs dry.

Handy little diner (but no wifi

I liked this place; down to earth, no pretensions, straightforward helpful staff. The range of food is reasonable if pretty straightforward too, but if you want a quick bite for not too much cash, and you like medium paced table service, whats to lose?! (Apart from a wifi signal!)

A great place for Greek or Canadian cuisine. Great value. Tasty, fresh food, served in an unpretentious atmosphere. Completely reliable.

Plentiful Portions

We happened upon the Cromwell Grill when the #1 trip advisor pick for Sarnia didn't open before 5:00. Staff was very friendly. We had some home-made pea soup to start. Service was terrible slow and unaware of their jobs. Eggs were excellent and the bacon plentiful. Unfortunately with the poorly done hash and lack of service I done see a return anytime soon.

Good breakfast place

Diner type restaurant, good prices, good food...always busy! Service abit slow when busy, but that would be expected, I guess.

Still the same, EXCELLENT

I went there with friends last week and the food was excellent. We had a variety for breakfast, bacon and eggs, omelette, also they have home fries which you have to order because they take a bite to prepare, but worth the wait.

great breakfast

there is nothing fancy about the Cromwell but they make up for lack of decor in the excellent breakfast they make. Service is quick and the food was great. One of the few places in town that still does breakfast right.

Service was great, hair in my food

We go to the cromwell every Thursday before the hockey games and the server we always get,Krystal is very nice but twice now, i have gotten hair in my food. YUK!

meals aren't filling enough for the price you pay. My favorite meal is the hot beef sandwich! it is to die for! it has an old diner feel and the staff has worked together for a long time. its a very close nit family feel there and i liked that. just a tad pricey is all

A sad day

This once stalwart Sarnia locale has drooped. Went here today for a late lunch/early dinner when the place down the street closed ten minutes early. First, prices were double what I remember. Good selection of all breakfast staples. opens at 0700, but they unlocked a few minutes early for me. I'll go back.

Like an old fashioned diner

Just plain good, home style cooking. Roast beef, veal, turkey, ham, +++ more. It's all good? This is a family run establishment that has been in operation for as long as I can remember, and you don't stay in business for that long unless you " bring em back".

Good Breakfast Spot

If you want a good breakfast I would recommend going to Cromwell Grill. Its within walking distance of the Harbourfront motel where we stayed. The motel had a continental breakfast, which we used one day, but went here instead on the second day for a full breakfast.

I have been to Cromwell Grill a few times in my life. The last time I went I was totally turned off and I will never return again. Consistently good food, good prices, and good service. Average quality food and portions, but it makes for a reliable restaurant choice. Best Clubhouse Around

The clubhouse sandwich at this place is the best I've ever had! The rest of their menu looks great, but I always have to go with the clubhouse! Fresh turkey, well toasted, good covering of mayo...mmmm, good! Great for breakfast too! My family loves this place! We would recommend it to anyone!

One of the best breakfasts in a retro little diner

If I owned a little restaurant this would be it, small a slight retro vibe but not overdone good service and the food is always good. You can tell Gus the owner pays a little extra to source better then average ingredients. Two thumbs up to this little place.

If you are looking for comfort food, come here. This is a small diner but the food is always ample and delicious.

greek diner at it's best

this funky little spot still serves up the best greek food and breakfast eats around. The coffee cup overflows and if you are lucky Sam and Gus will come out of the kitchen for a visit. The decor is hip but still resembles its old diner self. Check out the chicken souvlaki and greek salad. None better anywhere else.
