Great location with easy access to major highways.Clean rooms at a reasonable price.will use again!
It was close to Mosport, in New Hamburg. Enjoyed our stay and will go back again next year.
Service from checkin to checkout was poor. TV did not work, no radio or alarm clock in room, continental breakfast was mostly non existent. Would never recommend staying here. We traveled over 1,000 miles and we're extremely disappointed in the service received.
Upon arrival…People everywhere, it was 245, and check in was not till 3. They stuck to that, so it caused unnecessary loitering, and drinking in the parking lot. First thing I could smell when I walked in was Pot…hmmmm…ok..whatever.
We had a two bedroom suite. For 130 it was disgusting. Each floor, the elevator opened to tile "institutional" floors. hallways,...

This room was billed as a '2 bedroom Suite'. It wasn't.
It was a 2-bedroom dorm-room. Literally.
I travel a lot, and this is possibly the worst place I've ever stayed.
When I arrived, I stood at the front desk, directly across from the Reception agent (who quite clearly saw me), & she did not even acknowledge my presence for...

Did stay long but room was clean and cheap. Why does it have to be longer?
I stayed here 8 years ago when I was a student and surprised to see that they have done squat to update it. Price is very attractive but not worth saving the 30-40 bucks to go for a big chain. I wouldn't stay here again. We found several bugs in our room (on the wall). Sheets were clean and towels were clean, but the carpet seemed it had not been vacuumed in years and stains all over.
The hotel lost my reservation renewal and the housekeeping didn't clean the room on several evenings out of 7 nights.
Place is not clean. Walls, sheets, pillow cases, tables, carpet, and chairs are all stained, BAD. Beds are very hard. This looks to be a old dorm that has been converted. Internet is good that's all that's good here. Highly suggest over looking this place as you will regret your stay.
An ok place to stay in a pinch! but price is off a regular hotel with nothing to offer....no ice dirty stained old furniture, disgusting dirty bathroom...old 1970s c@!p bathroom...bath tube did not drain when using shower...... more
It was good for what I needed and great pricing and the staff was very helpful
My utter shock and disapproval was only muted by the looks and responses of other guests, all of whom like me, had no idea that this is a dorm residence for students masquerading as a hotel. What do you expect when the entire facility is staffed by summer students? Mouldy oranges, mouldy pillows, smelly rooms and floors, cheap towels and dents and damage caused by those things which college... more
It was nice to have 2 bedrooms each with a TV in each room had a good sleep we will be staying at the hotel again
walked in the front door and was greeted by 'what's your name.'. no hello or welcome. front desk girl very abrupt and definitely not friendly. not even a smile. will definitely never stay there again..
Excellent room for sharing with another couple as there are two bedrooms. Clean and simple. Kitchenette would be great for eating a small meal or two. Great location as we took a sguttle from the college parking lot.
It was ok. The front desk girls were great, the cleaning staff did not speak English which made it difficult when we needed something. Other than that my stay was fine.
I had stayed at this location before for a youth convention and thought the experience was very nice. If you are the type of person who wants valet parking, Concierge and a fountain in the lobby, this location is not for you. If you are the type of person who wants a convenient location, friendly staff, bright, clean accomodations and comfortable rooms, I highly recommend Residence and... more
Changed room 3 times. First one there was someone already in the room that did not check out yet. Second room had no AC and third room was just acceptabe.
Upon my sister in law returning to England, a visit to St Jacobs was planned. As we were to be half way to Toronto, looked for somewhere that was reasonably prices and had appealing features. The residence suited os most comfortably.
It was ok The location was not good for us to far out of town No shopping Etc
My wife and I brought out 2 granddaughters to the Waterloo Airshow and did not want a 3 hour drive the day of the event. The accommodations are a typical college residence and well worth the price. The staff were very accommodating and the room was clean. We had to ask for more towels, but that was no problem. The... more
When we checked in our room didn't hAve toilet paper or tv. Called to get another room. Was a bit of a hassle to get another room. Carpets were very stained but otherwise rooms were fairly clean. TV was too small. Line to checkout was too long. Will not be returning again.
The rooms came with their own televisions, the bathroom was spacious. We were there for our son's convocation and the hotel provided a reasonably priced convenient stay.
Staff very accommodating, especially since we brought a little dog to stay (additional fee of $16 for cleaning). Breakfast was simple but enjoyable, required you to bring it back to your room to eat. Essentially a university dorm room. Only complaint was air conditioning was much too cold at night, the draw string to close the blinds was broken, and the washroom door would not close. Small... more
I booked the hotel the same night on internet it was great the front desk staff was very helpful I would stay there agian
Need to have luggage trolley available--not easy for families and those requiring assistance to trudge in to the hotel and up to your room without one.
I stayed there one night in May and it was great. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. TV is very small but the bed is comfortable.Breakfast was included but there was only coffee. Overall, it was great.
This was easily the best price in the area and after staying there I know why. Room felt like something out of the movie "Animal House" and while it was spacious, I was nervous about what I would find when I pulled the sheets back. Fortunately all was ok but I don't think I would stay there again. If you are a student on a budget this place is for you.
I guess I should have guessed from the low rate but I really wasn't prepared for the closed sections, poor food and lots of students.
For a one night stay it wasn't bad at all. Friendly staff. Beds weren't the best ! But for 80$ you couldn't really go wrong. I'll stay again.
The central air conditioner very noisy, it couldn't be fixed, and when we asked for another room, we were told all of them are the same... more
The staff is friendly, but overall I was highly disappointed when I arrived. I stayed as a student for 6 weeks while working on a research project at the campus, and the room was dirty upon arrival and many common spaces were under renovation. The rooms were not cleaned as often as expected or promised and I was overcharged at... more
Doing construction in hallway. No soap or shampoo in room. Floor was not vac. No hot water in morning. In morning desk clerk didn't seem to care. I stay 75 nites a year for the last seven years possible the worst "hotel" I've been it. Take it off you site!
I found the staff was kind and the room was suitable but unfortunately in the middle of the night at approximately 4:15, the fire alarm in my room woke me up. I soon found that the alarm in the hall had also been set off. Some other tenants were also in the hall and a security guard appeared, telling us to make our way outside. I am glad that the fire alarm system was working and that it was... more
We had used towels on the back of the bathroom door when we arrived. A fire alarm went off at 4:30am in which we had to evacuate and wait outside for almost half an hour. No one apologized for that inconvenience and the staff were not empathetic when we mentioned it during check out. Beside that experience, the staff were friendly and helpful. Not a location I will return to.
The staff (especially the housekeeping staff) were very friendly, kind and accommodating under the circumstances but a true hotel doesn't book a suite with a kitchen that doesn't have a single plate, bowl, fork, kettle etc. etc. There was no mention on their website that this was actually a college dorm that runs itself as a hotel during the summer. The website also said there was a... more
It is a 2 bedroom suite / dorm. The price is good especially when you want to travel with kids.
The price was right. Two double beds in separate rooms. Kitchen with fridge and microwave. No cutlery or dishes. It was comfortable and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly.
While the pictures might look decent, this hotel is anything but. Air conditioning was NOT operational in the middle of May, no amenities in the washroom, unhelpful staff, and messy rooms. Best do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
This is really not a hotel, but instead a dorm for students whom are attending college, or university in the area. The hotel was poorly decor'ed and very basic, with my room having no comfortable chairs, a small TV & the washroom having only a shower stall. The beds are hard the room decor barren, outside noise obvious and easily heard. The room temperature was 85-90 degrees F. when I checked... more
Went there in May. Free Internet and breakfast, located near a Tim Horton's, McDonald's and variety store. Served well by Grand River Transit and highways. Area around the hotel had a nice green hilly... more
The room was not clean. The beds were old and worn out. We wore our shoes in the hotel room and left as soon as the sun came up. By the time we made it to breakfast, most of the items were gone except for the dry cereal and juice.
We enjoyed our stay. I came back to K/W to visit with uni friends and visit old haunts. A college residence is the best way to bring back old memories. 2 bedrooms, a basic kitchen with fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable. Private bathroom/shower. The unit was clean. There was a light continental breakfast available, but we went to the nearby Tim Horton's. If you like beer, go the... more
If you're looking for a cheap, overnight stay, there place works. Be warned, it is a college dorm room covered to an apartment in the summer. Amenities are minimal, though there is a sink, mini-fridge, and [dirty] freezer. TINY TV on the wall. Breakfast was juice, cereal and bagels in a room with three tables. Parking lot was a bit... more
Staff was great. Had issue with beds in room so they offered another room which was adequate. Great place to stay on a lower budget.
Nice price, clean and good service......................................................... more
As a low-cost alternative it's fine but don't expect a lot. It seemed to be very clean but is quite spartan.
I had an experience at a residence earlier this summer which was nothing like this one - the room we had here was very large, bright, clean, freshly painted and very recently renovated. There was free wifi, a small table, good for 2-3 people, with 2 chairs; a mini fridge and an actual chest freezer in the room in addition to 2 double beds, 2 desks, and 2 tvs (a small one for each bed). We went... more
The student rooms/ suites are clean, comfortable, safe and have temp control. Nothing else needed!
Small tv in each room, for me, tv is not important, just an FYI for those who find this an important item during nights away from home.
The price was excellent with great service, basic but efficient continental breakfast. Close to 401, Can't go wrong!
Nice Hotel for the price, Very good staff. Continental breakfast was good with a lot of choice.
Wouldn't stay here again, we have stayed at nicer hotels for alot less money, pictures are very deceiving
i wish I were at kitchener/waterloo residential and conference center tonight. Stay beautiful, people friendly and helpful. and the sun was shining. Looking forward to another stay at your lovely facility.
I was very happy with my brief stay. The location was convenient to the 401 and accommodations were clean and tidy. Internet access had excellent service and staff were cheerful and accommodating.
We stayed at the Conestaga College Residence for two nights for the August long week-end. Got a really great deal for $67 and $55 plus taxes for the Saturday and Sunday night of the long week-end through hotels.com
Booked three rooms and were given exactly what we requested, all three rooms next to each other. We booked an open concept...

I really enjoyed staying at Conestoga College residence for 5 months.
All services are very good and helpful.
The housekeeping is very good and your room is always clean. the rooms have two separate sleeping quarters and a spacious bathroom.
I do recomend to stay in this residence where we can meet a lot of very nice people.
I booked the stay here for two days while on a mini vacation in the Kitchener area. My partner had told me about some universities and colleges renting out student accommodation in the summer time so I looked at this as an option. I was apprehensive about booking as it was student accommodation but ended up leaving with a positive... more
Spending summers staying with a room mate this place is perfect. Have rooms with two separate sleeping quarters, also full size fridge is a huge bonus for us. Very clean place, and pretty good location. Spacious bathroom, with only a shower though. Definitely would recommend for a short or especially long term stay.
My husband needed accommodations while in Cambridge for 6 weeks. We were directed to the Residence and Conference Centre by the people at Challenger.
From my first inquiry about a long term stay with Martha Wallace to checking into the facility, it was a happy, friendly experience. Having never been required to stay in a hotel for and extending period...

I am extremely pleased to write a review for the Residence Conference Centre in Kitchener. The hotel is located in extremely convenient location just off HW 401 exit 275. The building was clean, comfortable and very accessible from the 401! I was pleased there was a wireless connection. I'll return without a doubt! It's great for an extended stay. It's a very affordable.
Staying at the Residence with our dog for the first time. Staff is super friendly and helpful... Lots of green space for the dog and the room is bigger than a standard hotel room. We are paying for two nights the cost of one night at the other dog friendly place! I would stay here again with or without my... more

I stayed long-term at this place, and I have to say I was disappointed. The housekeeping is especially bad. They come once a week when you stay long term and are supposed to clean the whole room. Well, cleaning basically consists of new towels and bedding. In two months they cleaned the shower once (and not well.) It's hit or miss whether they change the garbage or not or even wipe down the... more
