The location was good and the staff was friendly. The room was spacious and efficient. The bed and pillows were super comfortable.
\n\n
Breakfast was sparse.
breakfast was good
\n\n
dirt in bath tub
didn't get enough towels
forgot Kleenex
property is run down
parking garage dirty
thin cheap towels
room was old run down
lots of noise
It was good value for the price. Staff were accommodating and responded well to any questions and requests. It was nice to have a restaurant/pub on the same property.
\n\n
Nothing in particular
The room was confortableThe breakfast was included but very basic
good breakfast
\n\n
There were hairs on the bathroom floor and in the bathtub. Not as clean as previous trip.
The size of the room and the facilities. The coffee maker. The bathroom accessories. The breakfast was great, and we loved the waffle maker. Good choice of breakfast food and drink available to meet customer needs. The onsite pub offers good value for money. Check-in and checking out was very efficient. The staff are awesome. So helpful with places to visit and things to do. The two... more
A/C did not work. The solution bring us a fan?? nope... didn't work.. very uncomfortable. Took an hr plus to get extra towels because there was 3 of us.... there was one 2 towels in the room. Key cards stopped working repeatedly
The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The desk staff was very
helpful answering questions, making suggestions, and giving directions.
This was our first visit to Victoria. The breakfast was terrific.
Comfortable and convenient to all of Victoria. Superior free breakfast. Very helpful staff.
Appreciated the location, and it was comfortable.
\n\n
The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned very well from the previous
guests, although I didn't make a fuss about the hairs on the floor
it wasn't my favorite part of the stay. The airconditioning in the
breakfast room left the food cold in short order.
Zimmer ok - leicht ringhörig - Frühstücksraum ok - gute Auswahl
\n\n
Frühstück leider auf Plastik-Tellern - in Kanada so üblich
Posizione non troppo lontana dal centro e prezzo abbastanza buono rispetto alla media di Victoria. Buona colazione e staff disponibile
\n\n
Internet non funzionava bene
the attached pub "Redd's" had good food and the bartender Paul was friendly, professional and accommodating. all the staff at front desk were great also.
\n\n
the air conditioner was noisy and the wifi connection wasn't that great.
The room and facilities within
\n\n
The distance from the harbour
Location & pub
\n\n
Air conditioner was very loud when it kicked in.
Location, parking
\n\n
Breakfast dinning room design badly lay-out for busy morning
The Staff were fantastic...from the Front Desk to Housekeeping. The room was spotless and well looked after. I will stay there again as this visit prompted me to join the points program.
Friendly staff, sound-proof rooms.
\n\n
AC was a bit too loud; I could hear the low frequency hum from the neighboring suites.
The window shades didn't close, so some light leaked from the street into the room at night.
The breakfast was great. The room was very nice, although dated.
\n\n
I understand that the hotel is being renovated and I would like to ensure that they put light-blocking curtains in the windows. The shears that are there presently let in the light from the surrounding buildings and the street lamps.
The staff was very friendly and rooms very pretty good. Breakfast
options were plenty and it was all free. My wife forgot her iPhone at
the hotel and the hotel staff mailed it to our home in the us. Five
stars to them for being so helpful.
Clean, comfortable.
\n\n
Entry to hotel parking unclear. We got lost twice before finding. No
signs to identify hotel entrance (it's part of a strip mall.) We
were put in the tower which is not accessible other than via the outdoor
strip mall. They claimed indoor access was possible but advised against
it. When we tried it was impossible and we got lost again.
We enjoyed going out on a zodiac and seeing orcas.
\n\n
We would have preferred to be closer to the marina.
Location next to shopping centre
\n\n
Very basic, nothing special about the facility.
Being acknowledged by helpful friendly staff. Clean, comfortable bed and surroundings at an affordable price!
Huge bed. Very clean, spacious, nice furniture, good location
\n\n
Because my wife is in a wheelchair and we didn't ask for an
accessible room we would like to see a grab bar on the wall in front of
the toilet, even if the room isn't for disabilities; but otherwise
everything else was perfect
felt like a herd of cattle at breakfast. too many "rules" written out and wasn't a well presented breakfast bar.
Quiet room, breakfast included.
Front desk staff friendly. No charge for parking. Easy to find.
Nice entrance / foyer, felt more upmarket than other hotels we had stayed in for similar money.
\n\n
The way the airconditioning turned on and off.
The room was very clean and renovated, and the breakfast very good.
Nice room with big comfortable bed.
\n\n
A little far from the city center.
The bed was comfortable, breakfast was good.
\n\n
Noisy In-unit heater/cooler.
Breakfast was included
\n\n
I made reservations for 2 rooms several months ago. When we checked in,
we were put in separate buildings. The facility is outdated, and for the
price, newer properties are available.
Gutes Hotel mit direkter Lage an einem Einkaufszentrum. Dennoch sehr ruhig gelegen. Gerne wieder!
The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Internet access was very good. The location is easy to access and central to many destinations in the city.
\n\n
The selection of fresh fruit for the breakfast buffet was somewhat limited.
Friendly staff, nice bed, awesome breakfast, quiet
\n\n
negligible things
The breakfast was fantastic, not just juice and toast. Home made
waffles, fresh breads and very well taken care of.
They even took an additional 10% off the room price with ferry ticket stub.
It is clean and comfort. The service is exellent. The gentlemen at the Internet service was so kind and patient to help me connect my iPhone to internet.
\n\n
Nothing.
The buffet breakfast is a huge bonus! Two adults and two small children
we probably saved ourselves $30.00 to eat somewhere else:)
\n\n
Nothing in particular to dislike.
Very nice accomodations with helpful staff.
Clean & Comfortable
\n\n
I thought it was closer to the downtown area. Not within easy walking distance
navette gratuite depuis l'aéroport
rapport qualité-prix
\n\n
le petit déjeuner est compris dans le prix de la chambre, mais il ne vaut pas très cher !
“Overall, good stay, exceeded my expectations. Closet space is a little small and tend to be easily cluttered.”
“It was very average. Clean & staff was friendly.
”
“The restaurant had extremely slow service and odd food choices on the menu there was a coin operated laundry facility with one washer and one dryer, in the parking garage under the hotel.”
“There was gunge around the sink faucets, the hair dryer was dirty and there were a number of stains on the carpet. what a let down. I reported the problem to the desk the 1st thing in the morning. when I returned to my room that afternoon it still wasn't handled. I asked housekeeping and they said they'd talk to the desk. That evening it still wasn't handled. The next morning I talked to... more
“Not recommended for close proximity to Victoria Harbor. Rooms were ok but really needed a lot of upgrading. We would not return there. Very disappointed with this place.”
“Not clean and very old. Carpet stain and old mattress with old sheets.”
“For a quick overnight or two this is an adequate hotel, noting a scenic area or with a lot of Old Victoria atmosphere. I would not choose to be at this hotel over others around the inner harbor, but yet it suited what we needed for our particular stay, which was more for business purposes.”
“Freeway hotel type atmosphere with staff who didn't have time to even make eye contact or stop talking to each other to answer a question.”
“It is a one star at best and is not in the downtown area? The rooms are small and you hear all of your neighbors too well, no insulation in the walls. The lighting and plumbing in the bathroom were poor. There was a wedding held in a conference room and guests were up until 2 am making terrible noise near our room. Staff would not do anything but ask them to be quiet and then no follow through... more
“This was a ok hotel. It had c@!%!y carpets in the hallway, and the tap in the bathroom needed repairing (would turn on taps for warm water but then the cold would slowly shut off on it's own, and with eyes closed, washing face, would get burned with hot water)! The toilet also ran on and on. There was no pool, and the hot tub was only to be used by adults, which you had to go all the way down... more
“The hotel is pretty expensive, considering the same amount of money spent on a hotel in Vancouver can purchase a much nicer place. However, the Holiday Inn was clean and was an adequate place to stay, but fairly far from Downtown, so using a car or bus is necessary.”
“Overall a good place for comfortable lodgings in a relatively convenient location.”
“The location of the hotel was over a mile from any Victoria attractions. The room only had one queen bed, and was barely big enough for that. This was not on par with what I would consider a 3 star hotel. It should be noted that the front desk staff was very friendly, as well as the staff in the hotel restaurant.”
“We arrived late and the night staff seemed inconvenienced with our arrival. He was not friendly or helpful. The room was fine. The bath tub wouldn't drain but we were leaving the next morning so we couldnt really complain to have it fixed.”
“The location was good. Room was large enough for a stay of two days restaurant was excellent.”
“The hotel is well located in a good area of Victoria. The hotel is situated less than a.5 minute walk of the Mayfair Mall in Victoria. The Mayfair Mall is the largest mall in the city. The hotel does not have a pool, but has a hot tub restricted to patrons over the age of 18. There is a restaurant in the hotel and if you are traveling with kids and stay at this hotel your kids eat for free.... more
“It is hardly a 2 star. Carpet was stained, trim missing off the walls, unfriendly desk clerks, and no swimming pool for the kids. I would not stay here again.”
“This was in no way a 3 star, we were very highly disappointed when we arrived.”
“Would not recommend, hotel was dirty and in a state of disrepair. We went to the pub for a drink but walked right out as it was dead and there were a few old drunks in there.”
“While not centrally located (10-12 minute drive to centre) but located to BC Ferry service, this property exceeded expectations. A faulty AC unit was resolved with an efficient room change to more suitable accommodations without question. Friendly and congenial staff at the front desk and eating establishments made for a relaxing atmosphere. Lobby/rooms and exterior all clean and well... more
“The beds were comfortable, but small double beds. For the price, I could have had a room closer to downtown activities.”
“The hotel is under renovations. The room we had faced the top of the roof where workmen were all day. They were painting on top of room The rug had stains on it. There was a cost to use in house computer 3.00 dollar per 15 minutes. The room number was on the floor with broken plaster and wallpaper in disrepair.”
“Overall, okay. Blinds were see-through, so people can see through the windows at any time. We placed a bed sheet over the window to mitigate transparency. Leaky A/C was a downer when it soaked my leather bag. Staff was friendly, but I would look for a different hotel.”
“The hotel was comfortable and rooms were clean. The staff seemed friendly enough. The common areas and restaurants/pub were plain and boring. This is a great place to spend a night if you are planning only sleep there. There is not much of an experience to be had. But what do you really expect from Holiday Inn?”
“Pretty much what I expected for a Holiday Inn. It was nice, but fairly cookie-cutter. Nothing special, but clean and generally well maintained. The staff was great and went out of their way to help with anything we needed.”
“It's a 2! It has basic amenities, but that's about all. There is nothing close by, so don't stay here if you won't have a car. It's worth it to pay a little more to be close by downtown.”
“The hotel is about 30 blocks from Downtown the rooms need updating the food in the restaurant is overly priced overall I would give this hotel a low 2 star rating and I have stayed in some holiday inn hotels all over Canada and this is the worst my family visiting from Scotland and England were also disappointed.”
“The room had an overall musty odor that affected my allergies.”
“There are better hotels that cost less than this hotel closer to the Harbour. This hotel room was bad enough that we checked out within the hour. The room and location were bad enough that we went to another hotel close to the inner Harbour.”
“Hotel itself is nice. That is incorrect by anyone's standards. That was very disappointing.”
“A little further away from downtown Victoria than I was expecting - stated as 1km - more like 2 - but no prob finding parking in Victoria so don't let that stop you - would be a challenge without a car - food close by and shopping.”
“We were planning to be downtown and were not able to walk to the city center as hoped. Also, this was not a 3 stat hotel at all. I would never consider a Holiday Inn located outside the city to be 3 star. Our room was overpriced and in a bad location.”
“Very friendly staff and adequate parking facility. The overall appeal of the hotel wasnt that great though. It seems there is a lot of maintenance going on and that could partially be the reason but I think there is something that I was left wanting if I was to think of 3-star hotels.”
“I found this hotel just adequate to provide overnight lodging. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. The neighbors on each side could be heard through the thin walls and the traffic noise was relentless.”
“My wife was very upset and consequently we had a very unpleasant stay. The room was clean which was fortunate, but next time we will rather pay a little more at another hotel to get a better room.”
“This hotel was not Downtown Victoria; it was a short drive away next door to a mall. The rooms are spacious and clean. My husband thought the bar was really nice. Breakfast was OK in the restaurant.”
“The hotel was very professional. The Desk Manager Xavier went above the call of duty. I would highly recommend this hotel to my employer for any future business travel that may occur in the future. The room was very comfortable and the food was very good.”
“The hotel was fine if you didn't care about the location. We wanted to be right in town so it did not meet our expectations.”
“Very comfortable, clean and modern. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very nice pub/lounge/sports bar good food. Would stay again if couldn't find something closer to downtown area.”
“Overall, the hotel experience was good. The room was clean and well-kept. Staff was friendly. While I think I paid a fair value for the hotel that matched our request, it wasn't as good a deal as I had imagined.”
“The hotel is far away from city centre; you need a car and the room was not clean upon arrival. A really dirt towel was left hanging behind the door and the floor was not properly vacuum even after we complained 3 times.”
“I had thought the hotel will be closer to the inner harbor, bit it was not. It was not close to shopping or night life.”
