Decent coffee shop with a great view of the street below. Prices are fair, atmosphere is fun. A lot of students here.
Just a few blocks walk from the Public Gardens. Nice coffee and baked goods. They also offer breakfast and lunch items. Lots of clean seating and friendly staff. Good location to grab a coffee before exploring the South end of Halifax.
As a Dalhousie student I love going to Coburg to do some reading or to work on group projects. The coffee is great and I am especially fond of their soups - but everything I've tried has been very good! Lots of delicious options for vegetarians/vegans as well. I've always had good service and even though it can be very... more
Attractive coffee house near the Dalhousie University area. Good coffee and yummies, upbeat music but still relaxed and comfortable.
This is a great place to just chill and have a coffee. They serve food but have not had the food just the coffee and biscuits. Love the atmosphere and the people who run it
I spend a lot of time at Dalhousie University so I've got to know the Coburg very well over the years. I like it. It's got free wi-fi, lots of tables (although at peak times it's rammed full of students), lots of outlets for recharging things, etc.
The food is excellent -- not cheap, but very good. Love their baked...

We had a good visit here, though it was very loud. Many students were hanging out, using the free wi-fi. Coffee and sandwiches were good and the atmosphere nice. All in all, a nice place, though not for the hard of hearing.
I spent the last 4 years studying in Halifax and never once entered Coburg Coffee. No reason in particular why I didn't.. I just simply didn't. I wish I had. I stopped in for lunch a visit to Halifax and was very pleased with it. I was rushed so didn't have much time to look over the menu but at... more
On the fringe of Dalhousie University, this is a gem. Lots of space. Free Wifi, great coffee and food. Fabulous staff.
Have had coffee at the Coburg many times over the years with my wife, friends and visitors. Very much a student coffee house with Dalhousie Univeristy a few blocks away. Has great coffee and muffins. Can be crowded with students during the university year (Sept to May) but you can generally find a place to sit. Good sandwiches and soups... more
The menu is convenient for the demographic in the area it's located in but it's quite pricey and the food isn't always worth it
I'm actually sitting in this establishment as I write this as I have about an hour to kill every week between work and an evening course. Pretty much the only reason I come here is despite it's faults, it is local, and I'd rather support local businesses as opposed to chains.
The food here is good, quite nice actually, and...

I started going to Coburg as a university student, and it continues to be one of my favourite coffee destinations. I like the atmosphere, the service is fast and friendly, and of course the coffee is great (fair trade and organic). Over the years, they've expanded their menu to include sweets, soups and sandwiches, and everything is fresh and delicious. The soup & sandwich combo is a great deal... more
I like the Coburg coffee shop for a few reasons.
They are close to my apartment and they sell fair trade coffee at reasonable prices.
The sandiches aren't too bad either.
They aren't looking to rip people offwith stupid Starbucks type prices. Worth checking out
Good for meetings as long as you don't need to plug-in your laptop. They have only a limited number of power plugs. But they do have good soups and sandwiches for lunch, and their coffee is good too.
Nice atmosphere and good food, but a bit pricey for what you get.
Good coffee, relaxed atmosphere.
