This is a really nice place to spend a fun evening. The music is good and the ambiance is great. The serving staff is attentive and helpful and the menu is full of lip smacking food!

We went here a week or two ago for dinner. It was pretty busy, so we had to wait about 5-10 minutes for a table for two.
Once seated, we were greeted almost immediately by our friendly server who took our drink orders -- beer, of course. :)
For food, we started with an order of onion rings and they were delicious, hot, and crispy... and the onion didn't pull out completely when you took a...

Had the Canuck burger with fries, and my favourite Raspberry Wheat. The burger was just okay, I ran out of burger before running out of bun. The fries were hot and crisp and the beer was cheap and delicious.
$8.50 for a French onion soup that is sub par, I find it weird when pubs and restaurants in the market are charging $7.
Friday for lunch I stopped by the Clock Tower Brew Pub ( 422 MacKay Street, Ottawa ) with a coworker. I had been... more
I live within walking distance of this pub, but I vow never to return for a meal.
I don't believe being a watering hole is an excuse for serving bad food. I came in with a friend for shelter from the rain and a late lunch. We ordered coffee and our respective meals.
The fish tacos were absolutely tasteless, I mean taste-minus-taste (anything mahi mahi should not be bland). The chicken tikka...

The special brews are nothing to write home about.
The service can be VERY slow, even when it's not busy.
I once walked in on a slow night and was rushed through my order by staff who wanted to close early.
The menu (standard pub fare) is minimal, weakly executed and overpriced. I have eaten here a number of times, for the sake of convenience only. The nachos are boring and half-hearted at...

we live in the neighbourhood and visit pretty regularly. they have awesome burgers made of "ethical" beef (locally sourced, hormone and antibiotic free) which is hard to find in restaurants! not to mention their Bytown brown is one of my favourite beers!
Very little that would have me coming back. New renovations have resulted in new booths - money back is needed on them as an average person's feet can't even touch the ground. A smoky atmosphere, combined with a long (~50 minutes) wait for average food made this a place I won't be coming back to soon. The klotsch beer that I ordered was also one of the worst beers I've ever had - absolutely... more
I love pulled pork, so you can imagine I've tried my fair share. This is by far the best I've had. It comes with coleslaw on a toasty bun and tasty salad. I also like their pumpkin ale. And by looking at my friend's dishes, the portions are plentiful, yummy fries, and hearty looking meals.
Decent pints and very friendly service. Cannot comment on the food.... more
stopped in for a quick bite - had a sandwich and salad, tasty, fresh - would definately try again.
I love clocktower but avoid this one like the plague! Out of all of them this has the worst servers and never have the special items on the day they are offered. As a usual clocktower fan and avid patron, I am sad they share the name. Shame on you for not living up to your reputation
Just left from the Pub for lunch and must say once again disappointed. The oinion rings, overcooked and greasy. The pub chips though well cooked were very much overseasoned. French onion soup, at that price, did not measure up at all and the chowder soup was also disappointing.
This restaurant very pedestrian pub food at very high prices. They provide an offering of home made beers, which sound intriguing, but are often flat when served.
Great atmosphere and service. Great brew and wine lists. Fantastic micro brews. A pretty large menu however I'm not a big fan of the food. It sits quite heavy however is tastey.
As we travelled along Mackay St., we came across the Clock Tower Brew Pub whose sidewalk table umbrellas entice us... more
Nice collection of home brewed beers but they regularly run out of beers. The food is ok. Im on the line on this one, but ill stick to "like it" for now.
I've been to both the Bank Street Glebe location (many times) and also the New Edinburgh location. The menu is standard pub fare. Nothing particularly outstanding or inspiring, but it was located across the street from where I lived so it was a convenient last-minute meeting place. For those who are into beer, I am told the selection is surprisingly disappointing for a pub that claims to be... more
Really fab place to be seen [what a scene] and I think the waitstaff know it... The decor was different with large graphic text promoting the available brew. The menu creative.
I was traveling with a group so definitely got to order and sample a bunch of small plates. Some better than others...what I remember most was the total lack of service. No greeting, waitress yells out the...

This is an Ottawa pub of course, so you already brace yourself for that particular mediocrity, the culinary equivalent of the Nickelback blaring from the speakers, the faux-Celtic decor, the carpeting that smells like hockey bag ... the usual elements that only make the averageness of Chez Lucien or the Manx seem like shining beacons of Michelin three star dining. But this? This was fare that... more
Not impressed. Ate here once for lunch and the food was ok but service was awful.
Gave it another try when we had friends in town wanting to try local brew. Most of the brews were just ok. The food was not very good except the fish and chips. I was also charged extra for something that was presented as an option at ordering without informing me it would cost extra.
Will not go back.
We live in the neighbourhood, keep going back, keep getting disappointed. The atmosphere is a wonderful balance of "pub" and "casual dining", and the short wine list is better than the average pub.
Excellent mussels with garlic cream sauce. Great selections of local brews. Big screen HDTV and warm atmosphere.
Sometimes good brewpub beer, rarely good food.
The Clocktower Brew Pub is a great little spot to hang out in Ottawa offering a really nice menu alongside the showpiece micro-brews which they are known for.
The MacKay Street location also has a great patio that's perfectly situated for people watching but as the colder months approach you'll be happy to eat in where the interior has been made cosy with the stone walls and cool accents like...
