This was possibly one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. Farfelle along with their spinach salad. The waitress was magnificent- smiling, helpful, responsive, caring and prompt, but only when we wanted something. Not "bothersome". If I'm ever in Calgary again I will definitely eat here.
I went here today and was surprised by how adorable the patio is! It's closed off from 17th in its own enclosed area. You're surrounded by a very old-timey blue wood fence and there are vines hanging off of everything. It's really beautiful and looks like a secret garden hideaway. If you're on 17th I highly recommend coming and sitting on their private patio. The crowd is great too

Mushroom pizza is the best. Pineapple pizza was also good. Pear pizza was not great - was very bare when it came to toppings and
tasted like a dessert pizza. Today, the pizza crust wasn't great. It was very thick in some parts.
Wow wow wow. Service was amazing. Our server was Kelsey and she was exceptional. Very well versed on the menu extremely friendly and overall A++ for her attentiveness in a already packed restaurant. The food was timed perfectly as we ordered 3 apps and main meal. Dessert and expresso topped of the phenomenal meal. Kudos to all the staff at Cibo. We will be repeat customers here for sure.
This place was recommended by a friend, so we had high expectations. Very disappointed. We were told to ask for seating upstairs, because it was "quieter ". NOT. All the diners were yelling to each other to be heard over the din from other diners yelling. The noise was deafening.
The food was not great. My stuffed veal cutlet was dry, tough, greasy, and gave every sign of having been deep...

Love myself a good, authentic Italian restaurant, and this one was on point! Came here to catch up with a couple friends, so the ambiance and environment was pretty good for that (though the music did get a bit loud at times!).
Came here a little earlier than our reservation time, but the hostess was super nice and seated us right away. Went straight upstairs to a more open area and had nice...

What else could you ask for on 17th Ave?!
One of my favourite places, especially in the spring/summer when we can sit out on the patio. Service and food is great!
Great experience!! Food was 10/10 excellent and the half price pizza for happy hour is a must!! Host staff was pretty grumpy but once we got in and seated it was excellent!
My kid and I have eaten here a dozen or so times for lunch. Consistently good and their $15 lunch board is a great deal and comes with a homemade treat to take home in a brown paper bag.
They also have a great $5 cocktail special on certain days of the week. Also available is a kids menu.
I'm never disappointed when I come here for food or just drinks. It's a great and very lively atmosphere, no matter what time of day or night you arrive. It's always busy.
I try, at every restaurant to try something new and different, but with this place I have my "go to". I always order the Gnocchi for dinner and Tiramisu for dessert. Yes, boring to some but they do such a great job with...

Food was super!..... it was just my boyfriend and I, and they charged 4$ for water =.=
I absolutely love Cibo, it's excellent Italian food with a great price. Every time we go, it just gets better and better.
Frogs legs were great and the wine was good. They put us in a terrible spot at first but with a little prodding we were moved to a great table.
worst customer service.. food took more than hour to arrive.. food was cold.. our server was rude.. btw they also charged us for water.. never going back there again..
Been to Cibo a few times and really liked it for the 17th Ave scene. Was disappointed a few weeks ago that they changed their menu as we liked a lot of the appetizers and entrees that they had before
Pizzas are yummy with a good crust. Nice wine selection. Pastas are delicious with great homemade pasta
I've been to Cibo at least 10 times over the past year and it never disappoints. The restaurant is nice with a good atmosphere but can be a bit noisy. On weekends for dinner you definitely should get a reservation. Service is always friendly and quick!

I made a reservation online and was late and they held the table for me. The waitress was polite and friendly and explained what the resturant was all about. Not worth it, I had the ravioli, it had an entire bulb of garlic in it, and it was completed raw garlic as well. My partner had the chicken Alfredo, it was completely cold and tasteless. Could of had better at the Olive Garden
Great place and Awesome pizza. 3-5 weekdays $5 pizza well worth the visit! A bit pricy the rest of the week.
I find Cibo is a hit and miss especially with the service. While the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the location is great I find the menu especially the current Fall/Winter 2014 to be quite weak and poorly balanced. I am definitely disappointed. Currently there are many rich and overly heavy foods and I do not feel there is balance in the menu. They no longer have creative and tasty... more
Pretty huge noisy place. We had a fantastic waiter, don't remember his name. The food was okay..nothing to write home about..
I'll give you the good news first. The atmosphere was nice, and it was really beautifully decorated.
The food we did receive was delicious! To start we had the arancini, and polenta fries. LOVED the arancini, it was out of this world good! As for the polenta fries, they weren't really my thing. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi, it was a good serving size, and tasted great.

Came here again with my husband and another couple. We made a reservation for 9:30pm on Saturday and the place was packed! Always a good sign! My daughter and I stopped by after a day of shopping and ordered the pizza! All I can say is it was outstanding! Great atmosphere! Excellent service!
I have been to this restaurant 5+ times and it is always good. I have tried all of the pizzas and the pear with honey is my favorite. The Nutella dessert IS amazing.
I have been here a few times. I have had really great service each time by friendly and professional waitresses.
In my experience, the pizza is quite good. I have also tried a couple of pasta's; the spaghetti and meatballs was really good and the pappardelle with wild boar, olives and tomatoes was good too.
I should also add that they have really good happy hour deals on pizza and drinks, mon...

So, I've been to Cibo three times and it's gotten better every time I went.
My first time, I had the bruschetta, lamb meatballs, pear pizza and gelato - all delicious. It was November though and they seated us right beside a window, so it was a little cold for my taste.
My second time going was on a double date. We each had a past entree and were not disappointed. At first, the portions looked...

Very trendy place! Great vibes, servers are all very fun and friendly. Place is very modern yet rustic. The applies, pizza and dolces are amazing!!!!! A bit noisy but overall a fun place to meet up with friends.
I had the wild boar bacon pizza and it was delicous!! My friend had the gnocchi and it was average, nothing special! I would definitely go back for their 5$ pizza sometime! Service was good and food didn't take too long. Overall great place and really cool atmosphere :)
Food was good. Maybe I'm just not worldly enough, but I needed help deciphering the menu. I would highly recommend the wild boar bacon pizza. The gnocchi was good, not overly filling however, and I like to feel stuffed. White chocolate walnut cheesecake was rich and amazing, tiramisu wasn't to sweet but creamy and delicious. Service was helpful, but not overly engaging. Would come here again to... more
I could really love @cibocalgary but won't. The food is lovely enough but the service leaves something to be desired. It's a shame the staff didn't even make mention of a Happy Hour menu for their $5 Happy Hour pizza, otherwise I would go back. But they didn't, and I won't. Not worth the price.
Great food and great atmosphere, couldn't have asked for more.
I loved our server. It was my birthday and she was great. She was personable and funny. I liked that she joked around with us. It made the experience way better. The food was also amazing.
Had the mussel appetizer, wild boar pizza, and ravioli entree split with a friend. Interior decor very well put together - 2 floors, lots of seating! We sat on the patio though and had a very pleasant, friendly server. Food came promptly, very delicious. Overall solid choice for Italian on 17th ave. The only thing that took away from the 5 stars would just be the price - Its always about the... more

I am always blown away by the amazing wait staff at Cibo. They take amazingly good care of you and are genuinely happy to be working and sharing everything with you. As always, dinner was amazing, I completely recommend the risotto!
Restauarant was busy on a holiday Monday for dinner. Interior was very loud - I had trouble hearing my dining companions, and had to raise my voice for them to hear me. Service was OK - there were times when we were clearly ready for service (i.e. water glasses empty, plates ready to be cleared) and it was several minutes before the waiter returned to attend to us. The chicken I had was lovely,... more
Not the greatest place on 17th to go if you are hungry, serving size and menu extremely poor and over priced! Walk on down the avenue and find some place better
I was very pleased with my most recent visit to Cibo. I've been a number of times for dinner inside the restaurant, but this time went for a weekend brunch on the patio. The food was great and the patio is so nice. Hard to believe you're on 17th... It's nice and secluded with a nice garden feel.
Wonderful place to go to. My wife and I absolutely love the food, we will always come back.
Had a great night with my BFF - we had some great drinks and lots of yummy appetizers! Highly recommend.
I went there for some coworker's farewell dinner. When I arrived I didn't know where the table was, so I stood at the door waiting for a waiter/waitress to assist me. Terrible service. Table 8. Maybe the automatic gratuity prompted our server to think things such as clearing plates and offering coffee or dessert were unnecessary.
Very good value for the money. Relaxing and fun atmosphere. Excellent service.
My first visit here was during YYC Hot Chocolate Fest. They had one of the winning hot chocolates. I stopped in, sat at the bar and partook in their wine infused hot chocolate, a glass of wine and some of the Scodellina.

The chef, or chefs, need to cut back on the oil a bit. Though the oil quality was high, there was too much of it. The bottom of the bowl had a small pool of oil left over at the end of the meal. Because of this, I'd give Cibo... more

Love happy hour here! $5 for a pizza and $4 for a pint of Mill St! How can you possibly go wrong?
Cibo is one of our favourite go-to places for Italian dining. The food is fresh and tasty and not pretentious. Even our US based visitors agree that it was good food!
Had a great overall experience at Cibo on my wedding anniversary. The service was top notch which can sometimes be suspect in Calgary these days with so many restaurants trying to stay afloat. The food was great, pasta, pizza, antipasto and my favorite the halibut ceviche!
I have been to Cibo numerous times and the food is always good and the service friendly. Prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour :) Recommend to anyone looking for a casual but nice atmosphere and good food to share with friends.
We invited some friends out for dinner as we have been there before and really enjoyed it! The Pig Tails and Wild Boar Bacon Pizza were a big hit, our server was great she explained everything and didn't rush us in the least. The only complaint all of us had was the noise level we could barely hear each other but I am sure it being Stampede didn't help. Great Food! Please keep up the good work!
The first time I went to Cibo I had the chicken salad which was the best I had ever had. Since then I have been back twice and both times disappointed with the same salad. I was told they changed the recipe somewhat. Not sure why they messed with a good thing. Will not order that again. Had pasta and pizza both were good. Service was excellent. Bring back the old salad!!!
The food was great. My clients really loved the luncheon menu that allowed them to try small portions of different items on the menu.
Great location, parking available within short distance. Our waitress, Claire, took care of us throughout the evening - service was not a negative issue. Looks like they have made improvements based on the negative reviews. Food was great. Beer was great. Thanks... dm
A few friends and I went here Friday night and had a great time.

Perfect cocktail list and modern atmoshphere make this place a great patio spot too :)
Lucked out at the end of June with a sunny afternoon on the patio at Cibo for lunch with a friend. We shared a 3 piece Scodellina and ran out of accompanying bread crisps. There are very few places that cater to the niche of good food, good ambiance & kid-friendly too, but Cibo does. (It's also large-group friendly.) Great meal, great service and our 4-year-old guest liked it too. Definitely recommended.

The decor is nice, but it's a cavernous open space full of hard surfaces. Out for an intimate dinner, or looking to converse comfortably with friends? Not here. I've always had great experiences at cibo. In this case The food was great but the service was not. A few of us ordered appetizers which did not come before the meal. Server did not even give any recognition to this fact and just brushed it off.
Went for a belated Father's Day at Cibo the other night. I had been there a couple of times before, once for a work function and another time to enjoy their beautiful, secluded and flower-draped patio. It has a good reputation so we dropped by for lunch. We all had the lunch special which was a mixed plate. No quibbles there, well presented, good taste and adequate quantities. Cibo is a 17th Avenue hot spot in Calgary and on my fourth visit, I continue to be impressed. Service is terrific, with knowledgeable staff. The pizza is undoubtedly among the city's best. The sharing dishes go down well with my family. Will keep on coming back.
Been here twice, both times for a weekday lunch. On my first visit, I tried a thin crust pizza. On my second visit, I tried the lunch special, combining 3 small courses: pulled pork sandwich, wild boar salad, bruschetta with a white cheese. Really innovative menu - build your own combo small plate appetizers and unique pizzas plus more traditional Italian. Good wine list too. The staff all seem to be enjoying themselves and the service is very good. Not a quiet place and not a place to conduct business. A good place to meet people and have fun with your meal.
Been twice. Mains are pizza and pasta. Very nice. Decent service. Killer fenced patio. Would recommend.
Great atmosphere and amazing food. Love the scotellinis and pizza. Have yet to try a pasta dish! The eggplant puree is divine and my pizza favorites are the mozzerella and the pepperoni. I have tried the wild boar twice and it can be quite greasy.
This place has unreal pizza. I would highly recommend the wild boar bacon pizza. The staff is great and the place has a great atmosphere.
Had some appetizers, wine and pizza here. The food is great, especially the Scodellina and the calamari we had as appetizers. The pizza is Neapolitan style.
If I hadn't been drinking so much wine, I probably would have grown impatient with the service - our food took a long time to come out.
I'd like to come back here in the summer and try the patio.
The pizza and pasta are delicious! Id recommend the wild boar and bacon. The ravioli was excellent. It gets very busy on the weekend so its best to come earlier to beat the rush (6pm)
There was a table of 6 and we were just there for appetizers and beer. We ate a few different types of pizza which should be something everyone tries. The food was great and their beer selection was pretty good.
We were introduced to Cibo on a food tour in the spring of 2012, and it's continued to be my company's favourite restaurant ever since. We even had our Christmas party there this past winter.

For the 2nd time in just over two years, we booked the room at the back for a family dinner of 12. It set the tone for the rest of the night. I'd have to say that our waitress was OUTSTANDING by any standard contrary to some of the reports... more
Popped in here for dinner on a recent trip to Calgary. It's a bustling, loud space with lots of activity: certainly not a place you want to go for a quiet evening of conversation. Ultimately food is what matters, so we'll start there. We had an appetizer, a couple of pasta dishes and a pizza, all shared family style. The... more
By far the BEST pizza crust, which actually takes 3 days to prepare. I went with my two daughters after looking at wedding dresses etc.
Located on trendy 17th Avenue with lot's of parking close by. The restaurant is large with an upper floor area, patio in the summer, loud, casual and you can sit and watch the cooks prepare...

Can not comment on the entire menu as we shared a bottle of wine, some little tasting bowls and a couple of appetizers. The food was really good, and I am only sad that we did not have room to try the pizza as it looked great too. The service was incredibly warm and friendly. Loved that the place was... more
I have a friend who is Italian, and she came to dinner with me here at Cibo and even she loves it, so that has to say something about their food. It's hard to tell you what to order because so much is good, but here's some help:
1) appetizer: the polenta fries are amazing, worth an order to share...

3pm - 5pm happy hour $5 pizza's!
To be honest pizza in this country is nothing compared to Australia but it was pretty bloody good! And only $5 each! If you feel like an early tea I recommend a visit to Cibo for great food and good service!
Went to Cibo for lunch on a Saturday with a friend. It was noon and not that busy. Our server was polite and friendly however very slow. Our lunch ended up taking 2 hrs- which was ok for us as we were busy chatting and catching up.
The food was quite good. I had the sundried tomatoe, squash and onion...

I have to say that I write a lot of reviews and 90 per cent of them are very positive.Visited Cibo for a birthday party with 20 people in our group. Arrived at 6pm for our reservation and had to wait 20 minutes to get a table which was not a big deal. I had ordered drinks from the bar... more
Good patio, but very average food...not horrible, but entirely forgettable. Can think of many better places to drop $120 bucks for a couple of drinks, a couple of applies and two pasta entrees.
If you Google CIBO you'll go on a world tour. However, when in Calgary you must check out CIBO on 17th Avenue. Excellent service, outstanding food and a complete wine list. Food is delicious and served as it should be, hot Italian style with a reasonable price point.
The Wine list is complete although I required some assistance from the...

We had a 4:30 reservation and had our order of two pasta dishes and a pizza in by 4:45 (it took a while at first for someone to come to our table). The two pasta dishes came out shortly after. We have been to Cibo many times and know they after food and bring it out when it is ready... more
This place was packed on a summer night in Friday, and the open concept dining room was really loud, which didn't really allow for conversation. The food was good and the family style menu was varied. There was nothing all that memorable, either good or bad, about the food. The décor is warm and interesting. We saw people dressed in... more
Food was amazing we had lamb meatball appetizer, and pizza. Great atmosphere great service great location on right on 17th Ave.
Lovely pizza and selection of dishes for sharing. Great drinks selection and prompt service. Unfortunately our server was so quick in taking our order that my wife ordered wine before noticing which wines were on the happy hour list. It would have been nice if the server had pointed that out. Open kitchen makes for a nice atmosphere, would go... more
I had lunch today at Cibo. It was my first visit and can't wait to go back again. I took a friend there to celebrate her birthday and we were both impressed with the service, food, food presentation and overall look of the restaurant.
Very loud but a nice atmosphere, able to look down from balcony and watch food being served. It was busy when we got there for our reservations and it was a bit slow for drinks and food but not beyond what is expected I suppose. I had pasta which was pretty good but should have had the signature dish, pizza... more
Came here for a birthday and was not disappointed. This is hands down one of the best authentic Italian meals in the city. We shared an order of arancini and polenta fries to start, which was perfect for a little warm up (there were 4 of us) knowing we would likely be eating big mains. I had their version of... more
Give this a whirl,on busy 17th,one of the best. A bit pricey but best pasta dish I've had - asparagus and pea, wonderful. ( visited aug 13 )
Cibo is a great spot on a sunny day in Calgary. The deck is not sunny but no wind will bother you and the noise of cars will not be heard. If you just want a nice bar to have an amazing pizza try the wild boar flatbread it is incredible. If you like a nice restaraunt with cool attratcive... more
We went at Cibo last night, a couple of my friends and I. The food was really good but the service was terrible.
First, the waitress seemed really p@!%!d that it took like 15 mins for everybody to get to the restaurant. And even more p@!%!d that we needed more time to choose and order. We ordered appetizers and entrees....
