Nope, Vancouver Chinatown this is not but the food is as good as anywhere in PG and you can be in and out without the rituals of ordering, waiting, eating, waiting for the bill etc. I do like the Foo Yung and the spicy squid and fresh steamed prawns.
Not my favourite place to go. The staff borders on rude...They look at you with absolute blank stares...no greeting, just give me your money. The food is mediocre to say the least..not a great experience.
The food is, for the most part, bland and boring with nothing to set it apart from any other Chinese store other than the fact it has a buffet. Price is in the $15 range per-person. The best part of China Cup is their diverse range of desserts.
There may be a huge variety of dishes here but the food is disappointing and it always feels like you're at a feeding trough.
Unlike some buffets the food at this one is all individual in taste. The staff watch for children trying to self serve, and keep the food stirred so as not to have cold or crusty tops. The wait staff is polite and willing to seat you anywhere you prefer and are quick to refill drinks and clear used plates.
Okay, don't come here expecting the finest of Chinese cuisine like you'd get down in Vancouver. But if you have a really hungry family, and you want good quality and lots of it, this is the place. Dinner is around $14 and scaled down by age for children 12 and under. Lunch is around $12. My hunch is that it is the largest restaurant in Prince George in floor area so you never have to wait (except that sometimes at supper time the lines at the cash, which you pay on entry, can be pretty long). In the evening there's even self serve buffet roast beef that's a tad tough but makes up for that in flavour.
My son took me for dinner, we hadn't been in a long while, slid way downhill sorry to say.The buffet was too cold, everything tasted like last nights leftovers. Expensive mistake. We live up the Hart and will stay with Northern Palace from now on.
We have been customer of the China Cup for 10 years. Went there for dinner our last trip to PG. Their buffet tables were not at a proper heat (too cool), the floors and washrooms were filthy, the cooks were out of the kitchen in soiled whites standing by the till visiting and the food was god awful!
My girlfriend and I were on a date night, and decided we'd try to save some money by going here. Long story short: the service was poor in that no one came by to remove the dirty plates. But that was something we could have lived with. No, the deal-breaker for us ever going there again was the quality of... more
I'm guessing the reviews that suggest this place has good food are people who have not tasted authentic well done Chinese food. I am in the area working and thought I would try this train wreck because it was close. I ordered the mushroom and chicken chow mein, and spring rolls. Tolerable, but not fresh. It was as if some... more
loved the whole big buffet was just great.... kids love the selection and a parent always loves a happy fed kid!!
Not a bad deal for the money but a lot of the food tasted the same. Very busy place, If you have teenagers that like to eat then this is a good deal for you.
lotsa food for the price but some of the food is just bland, and overcooked. Overall an average restaurant
Every thing tastes the same no matter what you eat. There is too much batter on everything battered.
We eat in this restaurant each year every summer on our long drive to Northern BC. The food selection is excellent. There's Asian and Western selections and pretty much in abundance. The seating areas have ample spaces between tables. Washrooms are clean. Despite it being a buffet, there are still waitresses going around and you can ask them for help.... more
Great family restaraunt at reasonable price. All you can eat buffet, with chinese and western cuisine. Food usually turns over quickly, so it is always fresh.
I put this restaurant in my blacklist. The food looked too old and had a funny smell. I ate some of it and got a very bad indigestion that almost sent me to the hospital. I am not going back there ever.
Don't expect it to be overly clean... with such a large buffet style restaurant, it's crowded and not super clean.
for a Chinese buffet you can beat China cup. I really don't like buffets or chinese food but when theres a big group of indescisive people I always get stuck going here but the selection is great, their fast and pleasent and the coffee sin't too bad.
service is johnny on the spot which is haed for big buffets. food safe seems not to be an issue with new food being added to old food already out there. lots of choice.
When the word “buffet” is in the title, there’s really no choice on the matter. China Cup is an enormous establishment, the largest of its kind in town. With at least forty tables and 200+ seats, probably more, it surpasses China Sail by a comfortable margin, a shock even to me. Except that China Sail is a restaurant, while China... more
Good selection of food, drinks and desserts. Clean washroom. Difficult to park but if you've eaten too much it's good to park away from the restaurant to burn up all that fat.
The buffet price is OK with a senior's rate and also special prices for children depending on age. There is enough variety that everyone should find food to their liking and enjoy.
Real good-totaly satisfied! Iam a regular customer.
very large asian and north american cuisine, very reasonably priced...if you're really hungry and need to load up on a huge variety of food ...check this out
Too many battered foods, most taste the same. Pricy for a buffet and wouldn't return.
China Cup is just the place when you're starving- lots of Chinese and western dishes, with some sushi thrown in for good measure.
The sushi is fresh- and the hot and sour soup is pleasantly spicy. Won ton soup is also as good as most others. Spring rolls, chicken wings etc etc The Chinese dishes fill two double-sided islands, with...

when you order food you execpt good tast and you get what you pay for
the food is cold and the service was slow. for this price you can find way better buffets in prince george. new asia on tabor and 1st has a buffet for 7$ and it is way better.
I live in Prince George so I guess I am not on a trip per se when I sup with my family at the China Cup, a buffet restaurant at a downtown shopping centre in Prince George. But recent trips and buffet experiences in Calgary and Victoria have upped my assessment of our local buffet.
The China Cup has unquestionably...

I am suprised that anyone would give this resturant more than one star. I would give it zero if I could. The food is disgusting. However, in all fairness you do get a lot of food for your money. So, if you want to eat heaps of disgusting food then try china cup.
Volume eating at its finest, stay away for your waistlines sake!
You get what you pay for, more of a quantity rather than quality location.
good if you feel like pigging out I guess.....lol
Great place to go with kids, they have everything they like and its already ready!!
Classic buffet style food. Always very fresh and a nice selection of sushi and sashimi.
good chinese food - buffet only - a bit pricey but we go there quite often.
this is the ultimate buffet, for a good price, anything from california rolls to baked lasagna, and its quick.
China Cup Buffet offers these services: chinese, caterer, restaurant, chinese restaurant.
