Overlooking Vancouver Harbor in Lonsdale Quay, near the SeaBus terminal, the restaurant was extremely busy with only 3 servers on a public holiday (BC Day). Outdoor seating was full but there were still views of the water from inside. We had fish and chips, and cioppino served with garlic bread. I did order the baguette but the waitress was so... more
Terrible Service!!!
We've been to this restaurant before and loved it...they are very understaffed and the waitress we had treated us like we were a pain in the *%$#. All rush rush and heavy sighs and eye-rolls....it wasn't just us either, heard her at the tables next to us as well...while I sympathize with a server who is being given...

Server was very friendly and food was excellent. Reminded me of an old style British pub. The burgers were very good and I really enjoyed the specially drinks. Loved it!
We had dinner here during the week, as we were staying nearby. The location is terrific, above the heart of Lonsdale Quay. We sat outside where we had a view of the water, and it was a pleasant evening.
The food was just Ok - nothing really outstanding, but not terrible, either. The service was pretty slow, also, even though...

Great food at affordable prices. We ordered a combination of appy's and were delighted to find they were enough to make a nice mid-day meal. The West Coast Salad was delicious with a nice mix of seafood, avocados and greens. The mushroom caps were cheesy and delicious. We had the grilled prawns as well and the meal was topped off... more
The location was good if staying at the hotel, we were 4 for dinner and 2 out of 4 had good meals . The "special" pot roast was tough. The seafood pie was ok, not much seafood in it. The chicken portabella was excellent and the fish and chips were great .
This used to be a reasonable place to eat at Lonsdale Quay.
I took a visitor from England there recently and it was really horrible. The attitude of our server was surly, sarcastic, arrogant and frankly an embarrassment...not the 1st time for this one particular individual who we mostly try to avoid anyway. There is competition galore on Lower Lonsdale...

Service good food OK restroom clean tables a little too close together.
Prices reasonable. I would eat there again.
Restaurant serving English style food. Service was Great, Location was Great. Price was average and the atmosphere was just right. My husband had the prime rib which was the special and I had their chicken pot pie. We would definately come back again.
It always worries me when a pub/bar has an English name, as the English pub idea only really works in England. I had my first pint of Boddingtons in 12 years which was cold, something which Boddingtons is not supposed to be. We then had food...
My wife's chicken curry was bland tasting and the vegetables were under-cooked, my meatloaf...

We would like to thank Luisa and the staff for making our Mum's 90th Birthday party a huge success. All 40 guests remarked about the incredible service, food and enjoyable time they had at the restaurant. Despite guests moving from table to table, and sometimes getting in the way, the staff was courteous, professional and made sure everyone had fun.... more
I like fairly plain, simple food and Cheshire Cheese offers that as well as more exotic things on their menu. I always eat here when I visit north Vancouver and I wouldn't miss the smoked salmon eggs benny for brunch on a Sunday for all the tea in China. Speaking of tea, they serve English breakfast tea in a pot... more
My husband and I stopped here for dinner. We elected to sit inside rather than on the outside deck full sized windows gave us the view without the chilly breeze. The wait staff was very helpful and cheerful. Service was fast and efficient. Restaurant was clean and seating very comfortable. I had the shrimp and crab quiche with salad that... more
Lunch out on a beautiful sunny day in Vancouver was not enhanced by this restaurant. Service was slow. Water had to asked for. My seafood quiche was quite acceptable, but the accompanying salad was nothing more than a cup of lettuce leaves! Literally...only lettuce! My friend had the salmon main course. It was poorly presented and overall very bland. We... more
This is a good inexpensive restaurant at Lonsdale Quay, North Vancouver. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor on a patio overlooking Vancouver Harbour. Food a large variety of casual and main course meals with a whole section of British favourites, steak and kidney pie, toad in the hole, chicken pie etc as well as really good hallibet and chips(fries). Also good appies,... more
Nice place to come for an everyday, good home cooking! The prime rib special was just amazing! The view is great! And they have an affordable menu, and a well priced kids menu! We ate here almost everyday of our stay!
French onion soup did not disappoint and steak and kidney pie was delicious! view wasn't exactly picturesque but it was interesting watching stuff going on in the dry docks! service was pretty average to poor. forgotten orders and a not very friendly waitress!
Ate here a couple of times and really enjoyed it! The shepards pie is great and the sandwiches are great value!!
First time to Cheshire Cheese in North Van. A combination of dishes were ordered. The Chicken and Seafood curry was mild and not spicy. The fish and chips offered a choice of Cod or Halibut.
The Halibut was a very nice piece of fish. Service started out a bit 'cool', however, quickly warmed up and the service was very good.
No cheese plate on the menu? Really boring choices, uninspired preparation and so-so selection of wine and cocktails. Outdated decor and no real view makes this one to skip in favor of better choices nearby.
Located in the Lonsdale Quay, this pub style restaurant offers above average food for its type. I had the seafood curry and it was better than many so called Indian restaurants I've tried. Beer selection is OK but could use more micro brews on tap.
Good location for the Lonsdale Quay Hotel. The restaurant is nothing special but it is just fine for a meal within the building.
This restaurant is one of my favorites. The outside deck in summer is a beautiful waterfront place to enjoy good food and wine. Recently enjoyed a large family gathering here with excellent service and great menu. Highly recommend. I especially like their chicken pot pie. Scrumptious!
Took the SeaBus to North Van for a Sunday outing and stopped in for lunch. Food and beer were fine but the place is poorly managed. We are unlikely to go back.
When we first arrived we were told it would be 20 minute wait and that we could wander and return which we did. Returned in about 15 minutes...

Went there for lunch by myself. It was nice of the server not to make me wait on drinks and food.
Had the fried oysters and fries. Very tasty. Would certainly recommend.
The view on a warm summer day on the deck is outstanding, but we go year round. The food is consistently good, as is the service. We have taken a lot of company from out of town and they are always pleased with the food and thrilled by the location. We visited this restaurant when we didn't live in BC,... more
We love their made from scratch offerings. In the summer months we like to sit on their patio and enjoy the view of the harbour. The prices are not over blown like at so many eateries around here.
Enjoyed my first visit to the Cheshire Cheese Inn. I had toad in the hole which was served with a green salad. The dinner and beverage were good....... except I was a little disapointed with the salad. It was just lettuce and house dressing. Could have been more interesting but all in all was an enjoyable evening.
Brit pub-food with nice terrace. Don't be fooled, this is not a pub, the interior resembles more a Gelato joint than a Brit outfit, but it's well worth it for a good meal.
Service was a bit slow, it took a while to get a beverage, but food was of good quality and pricing was very reasonable.
Always outstandingly good food, good selection and service. Lunch times are crazy with the local business people pouring through the door and many seniors coming for their lunch dates. Tip; get there a little before 12.
We got the seabus over to eat here a number of times during our weeks stay in Vancouver. Its on the second floor and to the side of Lonsdale Quay and overlooks a small marina. It is a lovely spot to sit out in the sun and the food service, drinks and value were all very good.
My hubby and I ate dinner here after a long day of kayaking and truly enjoyed our meal. The food is English pub and the server was friendly and made goo suggestions. I had a raspberry and a peach Bellini- they were excellent. Hubby had a Wychwood Hobgoblin dark ale and he enjoyed it as well. The halibut was flaky... more
My wife and I were first time visitors to Vancouver and were staying at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel. Great place to eat, grat service, very nice servers, food is great. It is a very popular place to eat,so look at the scenery, enjoy. It is worth the wait if you have to.The price is very reasonable.
We ate here a couple of times during the day and nearly came over on the SeaBus one evening as well and it really matches the description of a British style pub restaurant. The food options were good and varied and the beer selections on draft were first class.
The service was friendly and efficient and we were surprised that...

We love the service and the food. Kilkenny and Guiness on Tap! Great food, great waitresses who are attentive, they put up with old f@!%s and young children. Smiles all round.
The food here was great - it felt like a cross between my Mum's home cooking and hearty pub grub. The 3-beer taster selection was a nice menu option to accompany the food.
It's above the market at Lonsdale Quay next to the ferry port in North Vancouver, so is a perfect stop-off for lunch on the way to, or...

The Cheshire Cheese is a restaurant but does a pretty good job feeling like a British pub (I'm an ex-Brit). Good pub food and fair ale
Food and location was great! Actually went there both nights for dinner. Once with family and once with friends. Fun times, both nights!
I've been to the Cheshire Cheese probably half a dozen times with my partner, so I feel comfortable saying that this place is very consistent in its fare.
I very much enjoy the atmosphere of the Cheshire Cheese. I've never been to England, but my partner grew up there, and he has told me that Lonsdale Quay on a drizzly...

My wife had the "Toad in the hole" (British sausage in fried Yorkshire Pudding). Very good. I had fish and chips with the local sampler of beers. 3 six ounce glasses of beer. The interior of this restaurant is modeled after an upscale British pub. It is on the 2nd floor of the Lonsdale Quay and the outdoor patio dining features great views of Vancouver's skyline. They serve traditional British fare - fish and chips, bangers & mash (sausages and mashed potatoes), shepherd's pie, toad in the hole (sausages baked in pastry) and steak and kidney pie. They also feature... more
