Cherry Tree is on a hillside across from Elk Lake Park, just off of Hwy 17. Easy access and not really much road noise. It is a sparely-furnished place, but very clean. Nice bed and pillows. Good heaters in bedroom and bath, frig and coffee maker. Yes, the bathroom is small and the shower stall is really small, but they do what they need to do. The room itself is not tiny so we were able to... more
Bed was not the comfortable. Outdated. Parking is not good. Cold and rainy outside so a bathtub would have been nice.
We took the lowest priced room. this was equipped, with a queen-size bed, a small refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a coffee maker and a comfortable arm chair, but was very small. Wi-fi is free, but be aware that there is no telephone in the room. The bathroom was small, but perfectly functional and fairly new, although the shower stall was rather small. All in all, this is a moderately... more
I stayed only 4 hours because we were only passing by. For that reason the hotel is just OK. I did not have time to see more of it. The shower is the smallest that I have ever seen and I am not a big person. The bed was enough for a short night. The problem was the person in the room beside ours was snoring and could listen it very well.
We chose this place to stay based entirely on price and location. Worked out great. Nice to be able to park car right close to unit. Great fridge/freezer.
The Cherry Tree Inn motel is very dog friendly. When the staff saw me walking my dog three of them came over and asked about him and petted him. They obviously love dogs! The location offers nearby trails for dog walking, both the on leash Lochside bike/walking path which runs for several miles beside the highway, and a quiet gravel road that runs off of the Lochside path. It's a very short... more
It was great. The staff was very helpful. They were able to get my mom extra pillows.
This was such an awesome place to stay. I was very surprised at how cute, comfortable and clean our room was. It was like having a studio for the weekend.
Very convient location, nice hotel rooms are small and bed was hard, but service was great.
This hotel served our purposes well. Very clean room, including the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the bedding appeared to be fairly new. The hotel is fairly close to a highway, but the noise was minimal. The staff were efficient and helpful. This was a good, basic hotel only 10-15 minutes away from downtown Victoria.
Overall my wife and I were very pleased with our choice of the Cherry Tree Inn. It was a quiet, decent priced, clean little unit. For people who have issues understanding accents I would advise against staying here, but for my wife and I it was not an issue as we have no trouble understanding accented English. The staff was knowledgeable about the area, friendly, and very business like. My one... more
I would have liked a microwave and the cord to the coffee maker did not reach the plug. Fortunately I always bring an extension cord. They have done a very nice job with a small space.
Best thing: wifi routers in each room. No sitting in corners trying to get a signal. The rooms are clean. It's clearly a family operation. We unexpectedly didn't arrive until midnight and there was someone cheerful there to greet us. We decided to stay an extra day and the were accommodating and moved our luggage for us.
friendly, good location, good price
A short distance north of Victoria, the hotel is extremely clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel sits fairly close to the main highway, so noise from morning traffic may be an issue at times. Temperatures were in the low- to mid-80's the week we were there and there are no air conditioners, which is about... more
Arrived at the inn which was on the outskirts of Victoria, about a 10 minute drive to downtown. We were led to our room by a very friendly gentleman. Layout of inn is a bunch of separate, small buildings, like duplexes. Upon entering, we took notice of the modern and unique decor, which was a nice change from other motels... more
My husband and I spent one night at the Cherry Tree Inn. The room was very, very small! The shower was TINY!! But, the room was impressively clean!! The room at Cherry Tree was very very clean. The staff was also very friendly and responsive when we needed help. The room definitely had a much better "vibe" than most motels. Attractive floors, bedspreads and nicely painted walls made the room comfortable to be in. We were here to visit the University of Victoria so the location was perfect.... more
The inn is convenient being between the ferry at Sidney and Victoria. We had a single room with twin beds. Very modest. We spent two nights in room A2 with 2 queen beds and kitchenette. It seems room is newly renovated. And its really spacious, and clean. Bathroom is nice and clean. 15 mins away to Victoria city. Kitchen is bit small but well equipped. Even for a family with four its a good size. Highly recommended.
Une très bonne impression.
Had to stay in Victoria when my son had a medical procedure.Rooms are spacious and impeccably clean. Nothing was too much trouble for owners and was fortunate enough to be able to extend our stay. Will use again.
It was an enjoyable stay and nice room. I don't care for hardwood floors but we survived. I cannot walk without some type of shoe that has my Dr. Made Supports and they don't work well with the slippers in the room. Also it was hot which made us miss Air Conditioning during the day but cool enough at night that we did not need it. Owner was nice and cordial and I believe we would stay again.
The hotel has been renovated, but it is a really amateur job.Mismatched tiles, plugs in strange places, inconvenient switches. The air conditioning was a portable unit with a hose out the window, which kept falling out.The room smells a bit musty. The guy in the office was not too personable; he really did not make us feel welcome. That said, it was inexpensive, clean, and close to the highway.
Small room but clean and appears to have been newly renovated - perfect for two people who weren't spending much time in their room anyway. Close to all amenities like the Buchard Gardens, ferry terminal, Victoria and parks. Easy to get to. Some road noise.
Not what I expected. Hotel.com gave a much better description of the hotel than what was actually reserved for us. We booked with the understanding that the room would have a hot tub and a balcony, but the hotel owner said that description was not placed there by them. Our room was very small with a stall shower that one person could hardly fit in. There was no balcony, no phone nor air... more
It was perfect for us - about 15 minutes from downtown and just off the highway towards Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal. Very pleasant family running the motel. Clean rooms and well worth the money. Would stay there again.
It was a good price and they are individual buildings with a few units, bus stop fairly close by. No full tub in single unit was my only negative as the shower was cramped. TV and wifi a plus.
We found it very convenient. The wedding was 10 min. away, airport was also 10 min.
Great price, friendly service and Newly renovated room. I was very pleased with everything. Highly recomend it.
Great location. Perfect for family vacation (mini-suite). Fully equipped kitchen will save cost of room just in saving on meals for family. Close to Beaver Lake, Elk Lake & Cordova Bay for beaches.
For the reasonable price, it was just fine. Managerial staff is great and very helpful and friendly.
Our Initial Reaction while locating this place was like that of a bunch of 'High Schoolers' trying to find a 'Cabin in the Woods'(even at 40s). It's in a quiet place and we loved it, Not for you if you fancy Metro areas. Shops,Restaurants and other facilities are a good drive away. In all I can say it was a comfy place to live, it's got a good feeling , like you are home away from home.... more
I was so pleased with this little hotel. It was so well priced for what I got and My son and I fit in the one queen bed nicely. It really helped me accommodate my tight budget which was such a relief. It was super clean and just perfect for a one night or two stay especially in a budget bind.
Clean and cozy rooms with a location that is off the beaten track. Close to a beautiful 10K loop at Elk Lake for runners or walkers.
My boyfriend and I loved this hotel! Staff was very nice and the room was very clean. We would definitely stay here again. The only con was the price. The room was small and the bathroom especially small. The price just didn't match up. But overall we enjoyed this hotel very much! (:
The room was very clean. Checking in was quick, helpful and friendly. Walked us to the room and explained a few operating things to us. Lots of dishes, cooking pots and utensils. We did forget to bring coffee as no amenities are supplied. It's like going to a summer cottage and you have to bring everything, next time we'll know. It's on a steep hill so if you need anything or extras...towels,... more
I was not sure what we would encounter but I was very please with how clean the room was. The staff and management were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend it. t was very quiet when we were there.
Manager very friendly. Newly renovated room. .very clean and nicely maintained grounds will return
Stayed here during a swim meet. Located about 3 min from pool. Very clean. Excellent Wi/Fi. quiet, and private. Kitchen is quite small in kitchenette units, but totally "do-able." We brought as crock pot, which was a real bonus. I'd stay here again, for sure. For under $100 in Victoria? Absolutely! Junior suites probably a little roomier, but, more expensive of course. Still very reasonable,... more
I booked at the end of May for single accommodation for 1 night, looking at the Cherry Tree Inn website. The room was NOTHING as it was portrayed on their website! I ended up having to pay for one night's accommodation ($74.75) because that was their "policy" and going elsewhere.
Very cute cottage, quick walk to lots of grocery stores and restaurants.
Last year we stayed at the Cherry Tree Inn in a single room which was comfortable, but small. For our 2014 visit, we booked a "Junior suite" which proved to be excellent! A bedroom with a queen bed, plus a living/dining area with two queen beds, bathroom with tub/shower, fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, mini-grill, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster... more
While there's nothing elegant about the Inn, it is an accessible location for families less interested in spending hours lounging in the hotel room, but touring and visiting attractions in the Greater Victoria area. Our family is too large for most hotels, and we're not too interested in reserving two rooms. The Cherry Tree Inn provided a suite with three queen beds in two rooms, good wireless... more
I thought I would be pulling up to a standard hotel but instead it was a mini version of little town homes. It was close to the major road 17 but it wasn't really up to my expectation. I rented a junior suite and its a 3 beds with only 1 bathroom. Plz note: there is no AC only heat and a fan to turn on at night. They do have a little kitchen area provided with pots, pans and plates and etc... more

Easy to find and for the budget minded. The room was clean and well maintained -- but very small. Good for a quick overnight - too small for anything else.
Did stay only for a single night before morning flight from Victoria International. The motel/hotel was nice and everything worked perfectly. The price was good as well. I would not hesitate to stay for a couple more nights.
Very comfortable, clean room, well kept lawns & easy access to main roads.
Great stay for the most part. The shower will drive you crazy if you are taller than 5'5" as the shower head is too long and in the way to stand up properly. No bath just a small shower. No air conditioning or fan for a hot day. Other than that the place was comfortable and clean and not run down.
This is my second visit to this motel. It is very clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable. Managers were pleasant and courteous. Close to Butterfly Gardens and Butchart Gardens and Victoria. Will stay here again when I go back to the area.
We stayed here last year and again this year. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The rates are modest and overall exceeded our expectations. The host is very helpful. We hope to return on our next visit to Sanaach/Victoria!
I stayed here April 1, 2014. Two alternates I looked at were booked, so I went for a site inspection. My room was simple, but clean. I stayed 3 nights in March, 2014. I chose the hotel for it's proximity to Uvic. The room was larger than I expected with two queen beds, 3 large windows and nice hardwood flooring. Stayed here for 2 nights and was really impressed with the place especially for the price. Clean, queen size beds, nice bathroom, and because of the great location I will definitely return the next time I miss the ferry.
Staffed with cheery, genuine people to greet you and see you off. Conveniently right off the highway and a comfortable relief after a 14 hour move. It would have been nice to have a hair dryer provided. Other than that Owner was extremely nice and helpful. Good value to stay for the price. Over all I m happy with what it was.
The Cherry Tree Inn is a very clean, comfortable and recently updated motel. We were very hesitant as we don't usually stay in anything less than a 3 star (preferably 4 or 5). Door was difficult to lock (from the outside when leaving the room); spiders and moths in the room upon arrival; there was a fridge in the room but it was switched off and so smelly you wouldn't want to put any food or drink close to it
The owner we dealt with was pleasant. Our two rooms were not available so a suite was substituted that included three bedrooms for the five of us which was actually better for us. We would certainly consider a return visit next time in the Victoria area.
You cannot find another place with this low price. If you're looking for a resort type of place, this is not for you. It serves our purpose well because it's only a short 1 night stay.
