First, service is bad. Never refill my water, plus didn't explain anything about their food. Seems like she doesn't care at all.
Second, food is below the average, and over priced. I had poutine with chicken and green pea. They didn't put enough gravy on the dish. And when I ask a bit more, they bring a small bowl of...

Went for lunch on a whim. Several friends had recommended the place and my husband was curious to try.
It was quiet but there was sidewalk construction going on. The service was on the slow side. Not so slow that we left but very slow. We ordered our drinks when we were seated, ordered our food soon after getting our...

By all means, try out the Cheese Factory, Edmonton, on 82nd Ave. I was there recently. The food, ambience, and service are tops. Likely there have been other similar reviews. The cheese is made right on the premises, and there is a deli section where you can purchase freshly made cheese strudel, and an assortment of cheeses and other items,... more
This restaruant is not fancy, it looks outdated, and the service isn't the best. Kind of a mom-pop feel...... BUT, the food is SO GOOD....Filling, delicious and it tastes like your best grandma's home cooking at Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Cevapi (Euro meatballs, with a warm pita bread, cream cheese and onions), Pita (meat, spinach or cheese filled "pies"), Snicle (veil)...

My friend and I decided to try this restaurant on an impulse after driving by. We were seated promptly and drinks were brought to us. This was our first visit so we needed a few minutes to review the menu. Big mistake - our waitress never came to the table again and attempts to flag down her or other staff... more
anytime i have ever gone here i left extremely satisfied. I usually come for the cevapi, large portion of course ;) the owner always greets his customers warmly, and the servers bring you the menu, and grab your drinks as soon as you come, which is nice as well :) I like how they have lots of Yugo- produced foods... more
I've eaten here three times now and have a great suggestion for anyone considering this restaurant :) Instead of going to the cheese factory, go to the 7-11 across the street and take a few of their free salt packets. Then eat those. You'll pretty much have the same meal, but at a fraction of the cost! Unless you have... more
Good selection and prices for what they serve. Cheese is excellent. Gravy is one of the best in Edmonton and it is with the real cheese from their factory. We like to order platter for 4. It is huge and you can try ao many different things. Try this place and I am sure you will be back. The only... more
My friend took me to the Cheese Factory for some poutine. I had their regular potine and my friend had the Italian - best poutine I have ever had hands down. I had medium size and it was a huge portion! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was fast and you can tell it's really fresh, they even make... more
I took a group of adults with disabilities here for a tour and a lunch deal and was so disappointed with the service I received. I was told the tour would take approximately an hour including the video they show. The individuals did not get a tour at all and infact ended up watching videos that we could have found... more
My wife and I stopped in here out of the blue on August 26th and were greeted by two cheerful younger waitresses. We picked our seat beside the "Cheese Factory" and were offered up menus and asked if we'd like anything to drink. I had an iced tea and my wife had a water. The table was nice and clean.... more
I got a burger and poutine and my wife got a spinach pastry. They were both decent and good value and the staff was friendly. However, this quirky slavic owned "french" restaurant was a little strange and I don't think we will go back.
My burger came with a choice of 3 toppings and condiments were considered toppings. The cheese...

Exellent place for good food and family . Management and all staff are awesome.
If you have never had great Eastern European food, then this is the place to start! Traditional food, in a (maybe too) traditional atmosphere. The poutine (which, i know, isn't necessarily eastern European) is FABulous because they make their own cheese curds. The chevape (sp?) and the kaimak (sp?) are soooooo good!! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants when i'm... more
We've eaten at this restaurant a few times over the years. The menu continues to expand and there is now a wide selection, mainly with an Eastern European or French Canadian flavor. Food is of excellent quality and prepared with great care. And, the menu is affordable. More and more folks are coming to this restaurant because it is a... more
You have no idea how many types of cheese cakes there are until you've been here. It is a piece of heaven on earth.
The only place to get a real poutine. But thats about all this place has.
