Far-reaching views from the upper-floor suites are a plus at this good-value, centrally located, independent hotel. Most units are one-bedroom suites with full balconies and up-to-date earth-tone color schemes; the upper-floor two-bedroom suites are huge and have private decks. Lower-floor standard rooms are small and plain but clean and well priced. The lobby is looking a little dated, but the... more
We had a wonderful time, every one very friendly. went Christmas shopping which was great everything close by.
Chateau Victoria is a wonderful hotel at a reasonable price. It is centrally located, close to restaurants, pubs, shopping, tourist attractions, the visitor center, and close access to Victoria tour buses. Breakfast at the Vista 18 restaurant is a must, so incredibly delicious (and different) and the view from the 19th floor restaurant is spectacular. Our one bedroom suite was spacious and... more
No problems, friendly staff, helpful. Lounge downstairs was very nice, bar staff were friendly and made good drinks.
The room was clean and comfortable. Very up to date decor. Amazing views. Had some issues with ordering a movie, but as soon as we contacted the help desk, they sent someone up to assist us and the problem was quickly resolved.
Helpful staff Good breakfast In restaurant with amazing view
Ok. Nothing really special. Room could use updating
Beds were uber comfy. The gin list at Clives was incredible along with the service. Didn't try the pool, too bad, it looked great.
We had the best time ever at this hotel. It was in downtown Victoria. It was a great, beautiful, and comfortable hotel with great and polite staff.
We are three friends celebrating a "significant" birthday - had requested a 1-bed suite with 2 beds in the bedroom, upon arrival were told we'd been given a free upgrade to a 2-bed suite. The suite was clean and spacious! Staff are courteous and knowledgeable. I'll be back, and so will my friends!
We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Chateau Victoria and we certainly would return there. The suite was very comfortable and clean. Also the location was quiet and we didn't hear the sound of traffic. We found the staff very helpful and the dining room on the top was great and the view is terrific. We will recommend this place to our friends.
You cannot say too much about this wonderful staff. They made us feel so special that the entire trip was pleasant. They even went so far as to make arrangements for some of the activities that we wanted to attend. Loved the place.
no robes were available .... how to use pool or sauna ?
Thank god I don't have sleep in these awful beds again. Talk about needing an update.
Did not like hidden parking fees to much chatter in front of and in lobby kept waking us up
For a visiting relative I chose the Chateau Victoria and we were so happy with the choice. From front desk staff, to the beautiful room, the location that can't be beat (just over a block to the Inner Harbour), and the wonderful Vista 18 where we met for breakfasts - the whole experience was top-notch. Recommended highly.
Very comfortable and very quiet. Food was good at Vista 18
Great location, near parliament buildings, Empress Hotel, &harbour , shopping. Wonderful pool& whirlpool all amenities working. Panoramic view at the rooftop restaurant you can see the whole city. Great service & food. Price was right. Would recommend!
Very nice staff always saying good morning or good day when they see you coming in. Even wishing a pleasant day from room cleaning staff you meet in hallways or elevators.
We checked into the Chateau Victoria on a Friday night. The lobby of this hotel has been renovated is absolutely spectacular. The desk got our room type wrong (they had us in a standard room with a king bed instead of a king suite). They corrected the problem and put us in a queen suite that overlooked the parking lot.... more
This hotel is right downtown within walking distance to attractions and many restaurants. The hotel has a nice restaurant on the 18th floor serving good meals with a nice view. I have stayed here before and I like the upgrade to the double glazed windows which reduces the street noise. I always stay in a suite which provides good value.
this hotel has been around for many years, but it constantly maintains high standards that all can accept. prices are what you would expect in a downtown hotel in a major tourist destination. However considering the other downtown alternatives and the location of this property, its a good deal. Staff are very helpful and relaxed, parking and internet are included... more
We stayed at Chateau Victoria for a week in early March and were very happy with our accommodation. We had booked a suite with a kitchen months previously and were happy to find we were overlooking the Empress Hotel and could see the water and mountains in the distance. We received a very warm welcome and our room was ready... more
We selected this hotel online for its proximity to Victoria's restaurants and attractions, and as it has an indoor pool for our kids who love swimming. We chose a one bedroom suite in the hope that we could get our 3 and 5 year old off to sleep and still have space to ourselves for the rest of the evening.... more
We visited Victoria years ago and came back for a visit with friends. This hotel is beautiful and within walking distance of all of the central city. The lobby bar is top notch. Rooms were very clean and inviting and we ate in the hotel restaurant which has one of the top chefs in the country. The elevated half-round booths... more
Granted, we booked last minute. This hotel was recommended by a clerk at a gas station just outside of Sydney so we thought that we'd check it out. We were in town for a buddy's brother's two WHL playoff games. I thought it was a bit pricey (not knowing until after that we needed to state WHL discount to get... more
Good hotel. The suites are perfect for families with kids. Room service was fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. Newly updated decor is a plus. Would recommend this to anyone. The free parking is nice too!
Fifteenth floor, so the room had a lovely view over the city and harbour, but it was a bit dated and in need of a few minor maintenance issues being dealt with. Air conditioning was very noisy during the night. All the staff were very helpful and willing to please. Breakfast was well worth the money - huge so no... more
We spent one night in this hotel on the Easter Weekend, our rooms were fine although nothing to write home about.. The lobby is lovely and the view from the restaurant is lovely. The staff at the desk were extremely unfriendly, the hostess at breakfast, the same! Must not be a happy place to work!
We chose this hotel though a package connected to the ferries for its proximity to all things walkable in the downtown core. . We had a great first impression as you drive into the hotel and it continued to meet our expectations throughout our stay. We were told however that we had a pullout couch, which we did not but... more
I recently stayed at the Hotel with a friend and our two son's. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable to other hotels in the area. We arrived at Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites at approximately 11am, expecting to store our bags and check in later. To our surprise we were welcomed warmly and travelled up to our upper floor corner suite within minutes.
The room was decorated in an old fashioned style but was absolutely immaculate. There was a small kitchenette area, large lounge room...

Gorgeous lobby & just renovated hallways....it just keeps getting better!
I booked a room over the phone for a romantic weekend getaway. I booked a King Suite and requested a high floor. On arrival, I found that I was on the lowest floor for that room and when I inquired about my request I was told the hotel was fully booked. When I got to the room, it was not... more
I have been staying at the Chateau Victoria for years, typically when I am in Victoria on business. The customer service is bar none excellent, consistently! Lovely location, better than helpful staff - they definitely go the extra mile. We were treated really well, even though we just walked in looking for a room.
Clean and comfortable rooms, and even better suites! Great amenities: especially the delicious food in the restaurant with the new chef and the mixologists working at Clives- oh la la! As said...

Not going to lie, I'm still basking in the glow after having slept in one of the best hotel beds ever. I have used this hotel several times and almost always been very satisfied. Floors 2 to 4 are all standard rooms, which are fine for business travel, but what I really enjoyed was the one-bedroom suites on the higher floors. They have balconies, spacious living room and well-stocked kitchenette, including a fridgeand TVs in both rooms. All the rooms have been clean and comfortable with nice... more
They have available leisure suites at around C$200 per night in high season (plus taxes of around $35.00) which are ideal for people traveling with children although the main bedroom is very restricted due to the fact that the bed takes up much of the room. An acceptable hotel especially if you have a room with a view on floors 11 upwards but in many ways looks somewhat run down especially in... more
Spacious, clean and comfortable. Our suite was called a "King French." King-sized bed; French doors separate the bedroom from the rest of the suite. Nice balcony.
Work space fit my needs well. WiFi was free, but pretty spotty - fine for browsing, but not reliable enough for a webcam meeting (wasn't a problem because I made a hotspot with my...

Great rooms, friendly, welcoming, great staff! From Marla and Kristyna at the front desk to the bar staff in Clives, it's wonderful to feel so welcome! They even remembered me when I went back a 2nd time. I've been back again since and I highly recommend the hotel. Great location, Lovely linens and nice rooms. It's just a great place!
Very comfortable bed: I slept well. Quality linens: their towels are nice, soft and a good thickness. I like towels that are absorbent and not starchy.
The staff was very friendly, especially the full time housekeeper that was assigned to my room.
The furniture is a bit old. The mattress and TV are definitely much newer - which is more...

We stayed at Chateau Victoria as part of a BC Ferries vacation package option. The hotel is almost finished new renovations. Staff at front desk are extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Walking distance to lots of activities and restaraunts. Great location
Stayed for 2 nights on business. Room was spotless, absolutely impeccable, extremely comfortable.
It's evident that this hotel is well maintained and that every staff member cares about what they are doing.
Was on a corporate rate, so my room was on a lower floor and had a view of the parking lot, which was not a cause for concern...

We have stayed at the Chateau Victoria many times and it's always been a great experience. We visit Victoria several times each year. We have stayed at the Chateau Victoria before. Excellent staff and location. Recently they updated the lobby and it looks great. We stayed in December and really enjoyed the hot spiced cider available in the lobby after a long walk in the beautiful city. We will return again soon
We stayed two nights at Chateau Victoria, the first week in January. Although a less crowed time of year to visit Victoria, many restaurants are closed for renovations (or probably just a good rest). This is our second stay at the Chateau Victoria. A " heads up" before i start the review. Its NOT a modern, art deco-ish hotel. Its furnished circa 1980-ish decor. We booked this hotel for a Christmas getaway, after researching other properties in the area. Prior to my arrival, I had called the hotel to ask a few questions and Bryce was more than willing to provide answers and other helpful information. He was very pleasant and professional.

We booked this hotel as part of a BC Ferries package, therefore, the price was very reasonable. We got a great price for a 2 bedroom suite with a gigantic balcony. It would be nice... more

I have to admit a bit of a bias when it comes to anything Victoria, B.C. We stayed because of the price, well under what other near by hotels were going for. The front desk and lobby is modern but the hallways and elevator seem old.
