I spend too much time at this place, great staff, great location and a newly renovated lounge with live music.
Great place to hang out out with friends! Mixed crowd, great staff, the nachos are awesome. My only complaint, there was a light summer rain for a short period and the Manager sent the staff to take down the umbrellas at the tables!! Apparently they're not made for rain! Note to management: Umbrellas made for rain and sun on a... more
The only advantage of this bar is if you want to get slow broiled on a hot day. The food is inedible although I was told by other patrons later nobody goes there to eat. Friendly service but they need chilled glasses for beer in their open environment. One of those inexplicable city icons.
This used to be a beer hall, so keep that in mind. The patio is great on a nice day, with lots of shade if desired. Service was attentive, parking is easy, lots of great people watching, and lots of beer choices. What surprised me was how good the food was. I had a salad (at a former beer hall!)... more
Absolutely horrible ! I went with two friends and sat for 15 mins before I was even asked for a drink ! Took 10 mins to get it and at got another round of drinks ... The waitress took a while to get another round for us , and after all that !!!!!! The waitress added a ten dollar tip... more
Barney's is the best patio in London. In the summer this is a great meeting place to see your friends. By mid evening, the bar transforms from an older crown to the younger generation. The food here is pretty good also. I will always be a patron of this establishment.
This is a great place to hang out after work and have a few beers. It's also great to watch all the weird downtown people walk by haha.
Love the patio, the sangria and other cocktails, and their food is actually really good! It is a great way to relax on the patio and run into people you know if you are from the area. if your not, its a great way to talk to people to get the inside scoop on what is happening in London, It... more
It's a regular place for London (frat-boys-sorority-girls from Western with corresponding outfit and chats), which I could tolerate before hanging out with friends and not paying attention to the crowd, until last time they told me I can't get in with my laptop backpack. Patio pub with a poshy restaurant attitude - not for me.
EDIT - JUNE 2011: I'm told they're currently brewing a pale ale, so it looks like they're switching things up every now and then with a rotating brew. Great to see this slight improvement, but my rating remains for the time being.

Another reviewer rightly noted that this place doesn't really deserve the attention of BAs, but due to some recent improvements and the fact that it's...

So, the Ceeps has recently received a pretty bad rap, and only partially for good reason. Consider the following - yes, it has a pretty meager tap/bottle selection. Yes, it pales in comparison to the St. Gambrinus pub down the street (which, I might add, has the finest selection in southwestern Ontario).
However, there is a certain virtue that this humble brewpub exemplifies. It is a haven for...

A huge establishment with a large patio, suitable or grups of university students to hang out. The place has potential to add several taps. It belongs on the site because it is a brewpub, the only one I may point out in London Ontario. Currently the one tap they have on is a passable cream ale. It is a notch up from their lager. Instead of brewing, which they are capacity limited, they could... more
This bar doesn't really belong on as site like beeradvocate. This is pretty much a university bar that gets really packed on weekends. The patio is always busy in the summer mainly due to its location in downtown london. For a good nightclub/bar to go to I really like this place, but I'm 22 and in school.
THis is not a beer lover's bar or a beer destination by any means. During the day it has...

Not bad! Barneys pita rocks
You don't really go there for the food. You go there for the patio. Yet if you want to eat, you gotta go with the Fat Guy Platter.
BE WARNED: This is not a place for beer geeks to flock! But it is a brewpub, and they do make one beer, called Ceeps lager/Mustang Ale. The rest of the beer is macro stuff. Theres only a few taps, and the rest is in bottles. Service is always pretty good, and the food is typical deep fried stuff, burgers, fries, etc. Its full of old retirees in the day, drinking ceeps lager, cause it is only... more
Back in my uni days ceeps was our go-to bar. Good music, hot girls, decent beer and best of all pretty cheep. It used to have this whole dingy drinking hole/dive atmosphere (which was dirty & great) but was renovated a few years back to have that whole well-lit trendy blub (bar/club) atmosphere. A decent amount of seating, with a small dancefloor and stage and a few pool tables. Always busy for... more
This is the old Canadian Pacific Railway hotel/pub. It was refered to as the CPR, CP, then finally the CEEPS.
They brew a lager and an ale, but as far as I know, they only do one at a time. It's typical North American/Canadian mainstream brew... watered down, without much flavour. Damn cheep though!
The Ceeps is a real meat-market, with fraternity-types and the girls that follow them....
