Food was 3-3.5 but the service bumped them up to a 4 :)
I booked a table for 4 online - I do recommend making reservations since the restaurant is pretty small.
I called later to confirm if it would be OK for me to bring a cake since we were celebrating my mom's birthday - was told no problem. I ended up deciding not to bring the cake (relevant later in review).
2 of us ordered margherita...

This is the best Italian restaurant in Mississauga hands down! I have been going here regularly since its opening. I have been to Italy a number of times, and this is the most authentic Italian cuisine you will ever find. The owner Mario is originally from Florence, where he used to run his restaurant business. He is a nice guy. The food is amazing quality. Service is great too! It will make... more
As a group of 10, we came for a birthday celebration on a Monday. It was busy and packed at one point. The restaurant is not that big and is at a corner of small plaza. Our table was at the back which was great as we were a fairly large group for the size of the restaurant. As we arrived, we were greeted promptly and we got water pretty quickly.
The menu has good variety, just enough and not...

We ate here tonight and it was more than perfect! High quality food, shouting with taste and well-priced. The owner, Mario, was on the premises to insure everything was tutto posto! The wood over pizza was full of taste and the bottom was perfect; cruncy but not hard. The linguine e vongole clams were literally a clam in each forkful. The pasta was elegantly lightly bathed in a suburb oilo... more
This place is small, but on point. Bring anyone who knows real Italian food here with confidence. Their pizzas are authentic. Everything is authentic. Just make sure you reserve in advance as it's very small.
I love the food at Casalinga! Authentic Italian. I usually get the Quattro stagione pizza and mezze plate to share. Both are fantastic. Good wine selection as well.
The only complaint I would have is that it is quite loud and service is inconsistent - sometimes I feel like I've been well attended to, other times I feel like I'm being ignored.
Casalinga is a fantastic restaurant - my first choice in Mississauga for a nice dinner out. Went last week to celebrate a birthday and was not disappointed - my bf and I each had an amazing pasta (his gluten free), salads, and a crème brulee that was perfect. The service at Casalinga is always excellent and they go out of their way to treat you like family and make your experience special. The... more
Another one of those special finds - small restaurant in a small mall but what food !!!! Real Italian and great tasting everything. Not a lot of room so make a reservation - you will want to try everything on the menu - sit back and close your eyes and you could be in the village restaurant in your favourite Italian village.
This is the most authentic Italian food that I have found outside of Italy. Every meal that I have had here makes me feel like I'm sitting in a restaurant in Florence, Italy! The best Calamari Fritti I have ever eaten. The Caprese salad is amazing. The Pollo Piccata is to die for. Even a simple pizza is outstanding. The... more
Using tripadvisor we were looking for a good Italian restaurant. When we trying to find the spot, we couldn't believe we have driven past it so many times. The food and service make up for the location. True authentic Italian and great prices.
My favorite place to eat. Food quality is amazing, great specials, everyone. I have ever introduced to this tiny little gem had raved about it! Small reservations recommended!
I have been here countless times and have never been disappointed. I've been here on dates, as a family and socially for drinks, amazing food, amazing service! I recommend the Caesar salad and the Mussels.
We arrived at 18:30 without reservations. The owner said "no problem" and sat us immediately even though the restaurant was near full! The service was excellent with only two servers including the owner. The food which included two dishes of pasta were perfect el dante. We were not familiar with the area or the restaurant as we were from abroad... more
So I took my finance here to celebrate his promotion at work. The ladies at a spa I used to work at raved about this place so I figured lets give it a try.
We started out with the mussels for us to share- DELISH! I am a sucker for mussels....anddd dipping the bread in the sauce after (which they...

A 3 star puréed rappini soup that needed ice cubes to be added to avoid scalding my mouth to begin and then a Margherita Pizza worthy of a 3.5 star rating. My wife had a sausage crostini appetizer that was fine as well (maybe a 3.5) followed by salad, sans dressing, that was very much a disappointment.
In finishing I have add that we arrived early enough to miss the supposed normal rush which...

There are people here talking about poor service and waiting. I have been there 4 times and never had these issues. The place is really small, about 50 people or less. AND it gets busy! I usually go for first seating on weekends. Reservations are recommended. And as with anything if you book for second or third seating you may... more
This restaurant is the real deal - real Italian food. The waiter was incredibly nice. I ordered the bruschetta to start. I am not the biggest fan of tomatoes but this bruschetta was so incredibly good. The ingredients tasted fresh. The balsamic vinaigrette was aged and complemented everything on the dish. I then had an item from the specials menu - the butter and sage ravioli. The pasta melted... more
I chose Casalinga for my husband's birthday dinner because of the good reviews. The service was horribly slow. The food was okay.
It took the staff half an hour to get us our drinks. Another hour for our appetizers. Another hour for the entree. When we asked about the entree, the staff told us that the chef was plating the...

I have been many times, since my introduction to Casalinga last summer. They never disappointment. Excellent, delicious food every time; great service as well. Reservations highly recommended!
Fried calamari amongst the best I have had. Excellent pizza. Penne ragu well made and tasty. Veal pizzaiola was moist and tender. Great wine list. Excellent service. My only criticism, you have to cook pasta in briny water. Definite repeat.
We have ate here many times and introduce friends & family to the restaurant who have become a regulars as a result. Yes, it's tiny making it for us more intimate. Our personal experience is they always try their best to accommodate you even when you don't have reservations.
I love that they will adjust the sauce in the dishes...

What a pleasant surprise. Tucked away at Southdown and Lakeshore, I liked everything about this place. The service was friendly, fast and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and fresh. I never order calimari (too rubbery) Not here, was fantastic. Not overpriced and the fact that it was busy early on a Wednesday summer night indicates how popular this place is.... more
This a very authentic Italian restaurant in the neighbourhood but you have to organized. Very little chance of getting in without reservations. A very small restaurant with exceptional food and mediocre service.
A busy local spot with great food and service. Call ahead, it fills up quickly. The menu has some great favourites and there are always some tasty specials. Solid Italian wine list, fairly priced. They have an excellent pizza oven as well.
This is by far the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. After returning from a trip to Italy with my husband we stumbled upon this place and I can honestly say the food and menu is as good as what you get in Italy. The calamari is to die for and we've tried a few of the pizza's... more
Tried the pizza and calzone, as well as the grigliata di pesce and a lovely soup (orzo with speck). All good and served quickly but with limited follow-up by the waitress. Possibly one of the best Italian restaurants in Oakville.
While we had a reservation - we still had to wait about 30 minutes for a table - not a great start, but the food made up for it!
We all enjoyed our mains, and the calamari appetizer was quite good. Excellent wine selection - labels you don't find at the LCBO
Service was excellent - very attentive and pleasant....

a lovely attention to the customer and simply good food, with often changing menus and great special. A bit small locale, suggesting the need for reservations, but a very casual atmosphere and the feeling you are part of a small group of repeat clients. The food has been consistently good in our visits, no matter if a simple pizza or... more
The service is always top notch and they take reservations. The restaurant is not very big so make sure you call ahead to make sure you get a seat as they get extremely busy for dinner. I am going back (again!) to Italy and France with friends in May to hike the Amalfi Coast and cycle in Provence. I thought it would be good arrange a dinner with friends at Casalinga as a "prelude" to our trip to Europe.
I didn't want to drive to Toronto as traffic is always bad, so I did some googling...

We have now visited this restaurant many times and each time it has been an outstanding experience. I happen to like anchovies on my Caesar Salad but most restaurants no longer include the whole anchovy, just small pieces cut into the dressing (if at all). When I asked if they came on their Caesar they said no, but that they... more
Had the pleasure of dining at Casalinga just before my wife and I left for a tour of Tuscany. I thought I'd be left with an impression of "North Americanized" Italian cuisine in time to be rescued by true Tuscan delights. I was wrong. Casalinga standards held up quite nicely to many of our Tuscan dining experiences. The staff was... more
food is very good, size of orders perfect.
staff very friendy

This place is a bit hard to find and small. The service was down right rude and admittedly some of it was our fault. 4 people out a expected party of 10 didn't show up and the waiter didn't hesitate to show his anger over this issue as he claimed he had turned away business due to the no shows .... hard to tell if this was true as I saw at least 3 empty tables but the place is busy as it is a... more
It is hard to find really good authentic, reasonably priced Italian food in GTA, but look no further because Casalinga has just that. This place opened up almost 2 years ago and the food has indeed been very consistent. My personal favorite is the calamari appetizer, the "casalinga pasta", funghi (mushroom) pizza is phenomenal, as well as the cheescake and... more
Good menu variety and reasonable wine list. Service was good, but occassionally lacking. Food was very tasty, pizza was flat-bread like. A good change for this area of Mississauga
Many months ago a small unassuming Italian restaurant opened close to where we live, we decided to give it a try and that was the start of a new love affair. We have been to this restaurant once a month for the past 4 months. It is always very good. A reservation would be a good idea because it is rather small inside. Casalinga, is a rather small restaurant, so a reservation is strongly recommended. We had the Anti pasta to start it was quite nice and fresh. A nice way to start the meal. Service was good even though they were quite busy, (Saturday night). We both had the veal marsala, tender with a nice sauce to accompany the dish. It was... more
