Great food, great venue

We enjoyed great blues guitar while we sipped wine and ate small plates. For small plate offerings, the servings were huge so order sparingly! The Thai curry mussels were some of the best we've ever had. Soft plump mussels and a delicious piquant sauce. Fries are great. Lamb lollipops melt in your mouth delicious.

Three or four times now it's exceeded expectations

Excellent food, great music
July 27, 2013We attended a music fundraiser at this restaurant. Even though they were sold-out and very busy, the wait staff was attentive. The food was excellent with an inventive menu. The drinks selection was also inventive. We thoroughly enjoyed this venue for great food and music. If you are touring in Halifax, stop in. You will not be disappointed.

Great venue for live music

It is one of the few true listening venues in Halifax and the staff are great at ensuring others around you keep quiet once the music starts. Before I said I likely won't be back

Great Restaurant
December 31, 2012The Carleton is a part of the Music Bar & Grill. You will not get better service and also situated on the corner of the entertainment district in Halifax. During the summer, sitting outside there are many sites to observe and enjoy.

Pleasantly surprised

Great atmosphere... and the food,well

Great venue to experience music

Average food and service but excellent live music and good beer

The decor is rather dark and dull in the whole restaurant with only dim lighting.Service is slow and not really very enthusiastic. I ordered a hamburger that was slightly charred.

Waste of money

Average to good bistro food with slow service
