This Italian restaurant has delicious pizza! The food tastes like it came right from an oven in Italy!
The wood fired pizza is good. The decor is nice and the staff was friendly. On a friday night which wasn't that busy, they had 9 or 10 people working, which I found a bit strange, and the place is a bit small so extra people weren't needed in the building...The pizza was a touch expensive, but it was yummy so I didn't mind much. I would go back again, they also do delivery!!!
Capitol is one of those old school restaurants in Little Italy that somehow manages to stay in business year after year. Offering nothing particularly noteworthy on its menu (or ambiance), it nevertheless wins points for its prime location on the southwest corner of College and Clinton.
I visited the Capital resteraunt with my best freind for her birthday and we were met by the owner with a smile and a jovial manner. She escorted us to a table and gave us menues. I was so delighted by their excellent service and food. I can't wait to visit again and enjoy their delicious mussels. A place not... more
Another great outing in little Italy with friends. Great food and service. Great tasting italian food, portions are plenty. Must try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely dreadful food and service. Deserves no more of my time to write a longer review of just how terrible it is. AVOID at all costs!
I had the worst experience here. I went there to watch an Italy world cup, and experienced the worst service & food. As an Italian, it's a disgrace that this place is an italian restaurant. It was a bit busy because of the game, but that is not an excuse for the service staff to be so rude. The older... more
worst food, worst service, biggest waste of time. I read reviews all the time but have never taken the time to write one, but was inspired to help keep people away from this dump of a place.
My friends and I wanted to get some good after the soccer game and knew the place would be busy. When we say down we were outside and asked if we could sit inside because there were 4-5 tables available and freezing, we were told they weren't seating people inside! It took 20 minutes for our order to be taken...... more
The food was absolutely horrible. Looked good but food was far from enjoyable. The pasta was undercooked and needed seasoning. When we complained the owner told us that no else complained after 24 years! A starter plate was removed as a guest was eating because the main was ready!!! The clam dish had 3 (yes 3) clams. The veal could... more
Should have read the TA reviews before dining at this 'hole'. As it is, went with family, saw lot of people there and figured it couldn't be that bad. Wow. Wow. WOW.
Long story short, the "new" waitress forgot to place our order. Which begs the question, how long do you wait for your food before it becomes apparent that...

My family and I were guests at a celebration party. The following is a chronological list of what we endured in thisDUMP of a place they call a restaurant.
!. No air conditioning, despite repeated attempts to engage the owner/manager
2. Rolled paper covering the white linen table cloth, which was extremely filthy and stained
3. Penne pasta probably cooked...

Consistently good food & friendly owners & staff.
Mussels delicious
Penne Rosea sauce with salmon awesome
Pizza perfect
Sangria the best!
An Italian restaurant that does not have Tortellini in their menu. A Russian waitress who does not know English very well and does not know Italian food. We had to repeat our orders many times as she had difficulty understanding us. The insalate and main course came together and we had to remind her that we would like to have... more
I went another time and this restaurant it's amazing!!! Go there for sure!! 5 stars!! I went mano Times in The last 10 years and The food always is fresh and The service it's fast and cute!!!
I am from the East Coast and was in Toronto visiting family Canada Day weekend. On the Monday my daughter and my cousin and I spent the day downtown Toronto. We decided to have dinner out and decided on Italian. We headed to Little Italy and walked into the Capitol Restaurant on the corner of College and Clifton. We were... more
Went there last Saturday. Our app took an hour to get to us, and was full of oil. The lady manager/owner is a totally tyrant. My date and I proceeded to listen to her scream at, and verbally abuse her staff while we were trying to eat our dinner. I would never eat there again. Not only was the food... more
My pizza was pretty tasteless and arrived cold They were very nice and made me another right away It's an ok place but they could really use an update
Absolutely horrible ! 0/5 ! Waitress sour, told us lasagna was salty, half of wine list unavailable, had to ask for bread after an hour of waiting. Finally after 2 hrs gave up on our salad and entree, paid for wine and left. Everyone else complaining too. Don't waste your time here !!!
I went to the Capitol Restaurant in Little Italy with my children and parents for what was supposed to be a nice family dinner and our experience could not have been worse. The manager/owner (older blonde lady) told us to sit at a table which still had a dirty tablecloth and used dishes from the previous customers but since we... more
I wanted to take advantage of eating out on a patio this week so we strolled along College looking for a restaurant with a nice location, not too long of a wait and a decent menu. We walked up to the patio at Capitol and noticed that it was half filled and diners were happily chatting and enjoying their food.... more
After one too many bad experiences at Cafe Dominico (accross the street- see review) I decided to check this place out based on the 2 reviews here. It was delicious! I ordered the veal and they happily allowed me to substitute the salad/potatoes for pasta instead. The quality of my and my friend's meal was very good. Pasta tasted homemade. The portions were generous. It is a little more... more
This is my favorite restaurant in Little Italy. The patio is warm and inviting and the inside decor is very nice. I LOVE the mussels!!! I usually will have a pasta, but I will try whatever seems to appeal to my taste buds. This is a "must visit" whenever I am in town and I can't wait to eat here again in the near future.
I've always thought there was something special about Capitol. My girlfriends and I have been going there for almost 10 years and we will continue to do so for many years to come True, it's not the busiest place on College and the ambiance is not as cozy or unique as, say Kalendar, but the food is delicious and the owners are some of the nicest people I've met. I always get the gnocchi con... more
We heard about this place thru our friends. On this short little business trip, we had the chance to check it out - a good choice!Bottomless cups of coffee (IV would be better) and portions are very healthy. Their homemade pizza is just that - home made and hearty! We shared the full portion of the sausage pizza - more than enough for 2. We arrived at 9pm and were tabled right away. Timing was... more
because everyone is in the restaurant across the street!I don't know about the food at the other restaurant but I know they weren't having much fun looking at us because the Capitol was rather empty. The problem: the food was 'meh' and lacked any kind of ingenuity, although it wasn't outright bad. The waitress would disappear for long lengths of time though and probably missed a tip from me more... more
rudest waitress ever there...had the same expirience twice, the first time I swore I would not go back again but the pizza was great and the outside patio was attractive...the waitress was surly and the food took forever...when I asked to speak to the (female) manager, she was probably the rudest and least customer service oriented responsible person I had ever met. Second time, same, great... more
Oh boy memories not too good, food is good thou
Described as being as cozy as "the kitchen of a Tuscan Nonna," Capitol Trattoria is fittingly located in the city's famous Little Italy, with a beautiful patio looking onto scenic College Street. Enjoy authentic homemade Italian cuisine, such as crisp pizzas, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
