Great place. Well located. The only problem is finding parking space.
Very nice hotel in a great part of the city. Lots of good restaurants across the street and around the corner (Trib Steakhouse, Catch, etc). Also, very close to lots of shopping.
staff was attentive, great location to everything, room was fabulous
Excellent rooms, perfect location for business and wonderful staff. I've enjoyed their breakfast and dinner. Efficient service, clean room, decorated nicely and good internet connection. I would go back for sure.
Let me start by saying that this was my third annual "Mother's Day Escape Weekend" stay at the Marriott. The first two trip were fabulous! Location, room, service, breakfast...top notch...but that all came to an end this trip. I booked, what I thought was a smoking hot deal with an AAA/CAA rate which said included breakfast for two.
Upon arrival...

My husband and I stayed here in March 2014. The location was great in terms of being able to walk everywhere downtown. The room was comfortable, but average. This location has an indoor pool which was great for our grandson. We found parking to be very expensive and it was easier to use the valet parking because the lot is... more
I really like Marriott hotels. They are always high quality rooms, with very nice furnishings, sheets and towels. This hotel is no exception, and is ideally located so walking to almost everywhere for me was an option. The staff is very friendly as well. I will be back.
I haven't stayed at this location in Calgary for years...last time I was here it was called the Skyline.
This is a very good business hotel. Very clean, service is efficient, wifi is free and works, beds are comfortable. Location could be closer to the heart of the business district, but still walking distance.
My room was starting to look...

The staff was wonderful and charming, always with a smile when greeting you. I enjoyed the room service for both dinner and breakfast. I don't feel as though the portions were very plentiful or filling. The beds were amazingly comfortable though, especially the pillows! I enjoyed the moveable desk and the desk chair in the room, both were effective for... more
I am currently staying at this Marriott for a combination of business and pleasure. I am a Platinum rewards member. Have to say that this facility is located nicely for business, shopping and dining. The staff were excellent during check in, making one feel welcomed, they were friendly knowledgable and genuine. The room is very clean, comfortable and well appointed.... more
Marriot's usually set a high standard, with a high price to match.
This particular location seems to have unusually low prices, possibly as a result of what appears to be only a recent refurbishment.
It was a fantastic stay from start to finish. Great service from free chocolates in the lobby after a quick, smooth check-in process, to bright, large,...

Good rooms, clean and well furnished. The staff is somewhat helpful, very helpful if you exclude the front desk and reservation staff. The valet parking is terribly expensive. Just park across the street and use the pedestrian skyway. The lobby bar is very good with nice staff and decent prices. I rarely eat in downtown hotels because there are so... more
Service was very good at the hotel which is nice. The rooms themselves are badly in need of a refresh. Breakfast buffet is not as attractive as the one next door at the Hyatt (but the fresh cooked offerings are good).
There are a few options next to each other. This one is fine if you can get a good...

This was a mother-daughter getaway weekend, and this Marriott's price, location and staff made it possible!
It's an older hotel in the core of Calgary. The city has grown - but this property was not left behind.
Everthing was absolutely top notch. The "tone" was estsblished at check-in with the concierge, Krista. We were welcomed, our needs were anticipated and...

We arrived without reservation at the Marriott. We asked for the rate for 2 nights. The clerk said 349$ plus taxes. I specified SO you are saying 175$ per night. She said yes. We were billed 349$per night plus taxe. And it was already taken from our credit card. What a rip-off, she took advantage of the fact we spoke... more
From the time we pulled into the drive, the staff were exceptionally friendly. The staff out front allowed us to unload our vehicle, and gave us a 1/2 hour to check in and settle in our room, then come back down and decide on parking. Parking was $25.00 for valet, and they advised us we could park on the next... more
I actually won an overnight stay at my staff party and decided that I would finally take advantage of it. I also live in Calgary, but a "mini-vacation" in my own city sounded good. From the moment I called to make my reservation, to the check in process, I was impressed with the associates. Smiling voices, smiling faces. It really... more
Ok, so I rarely ever give reviews on my hotel stays however this one really stuck out - in a good way! We were in town for a weekend conference. On our drive in, I used the mobile checkin App and it was a breeze. We arrived, keys were ready, along with two $25 petro gif cards (cars eat free)... more
The hotel is right in the middle of downtown, which is good for getting to the best bars and restaurants. The only downside was--we got a room with two beds for 3, but they were two double beds. Fortunately, I like my friend well enough.
Stayed at this location on business for the week. Fantatsic Service, great food, and very welcoming staff. Would recommend this location for any business traveller staying in the dowtown core in Calgary.
The hotel is ok, and has all the amenities expected in a big conference center hotel. My room is worn and slightly shabby, but there's nothing too horrid. However, the endless hammering and drilling either next to or over my room is making it really hard to do the work I came here to do. They presumably knew this work... more
Traveled for pleasure to Calgary to enjoy the downtown and attend a hockey game. Had originally thought there was an affordable self-parking option at the hotel, which there is not, so we had to valet which was pricey, but no different from most hotels in the downtown areas of large cities. Right across from the Calgary Tower and walking distance... more
The Marriott is conveniently located for business travelers and for shopping. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of electrical outlets. Exercise room is adequate with treadmills, elypticals and life cycles. The hotel is connected to Milestones restaurant and bar which is an added bonus. The only issues I had were inability to... more
Everyone was extremely helpful. From the Valet fellow upon arrival through the check-in and everyone else we ended up dealing with, whatever we were doing. The bed wasn't a Queen or a King but it was big enough to be comfortable.
Stayed here for work. Nice location and close to everything downtown. $50 dollar cab ride from the airport. Price was expensive but was paid for by work. Right across the street from the Calgary tower and close to C train. Will stay again!
The location is excellent for those needing to be downtown. The room was clean but seemed a bit dated. Many restaurants nearby and the Starbucks in the lobby is very handy, though it gets quite busy in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a good choice when staying downtown.
Little older yet convenient downtown hotel. Rooms are typical sized for a downtown hotel, so not very large but very clean.
The great part of this hotel is the staff. From the doorman, bell staff, front desk staff and restaurant staff, I was surprised of the level of service with a smile, which is little more rare with Marriott hotels...

Staff were more than helpful, rooms were decent and great location for walking to different restaurants. Breakfast was included and it was tasty with lots of options at the buffet. Everything was really fresh. After check out the hotel stored our luggage and we were able to walk around town without all our bags!
I stayed at this hotel for two nights on a business trip mainly for convenience because it is connected directly to the Telus Conference Centre. It was OK : the staff was friendly, it was clean and quiet for sleeping. The only problem was the weather was so cold that its main floor restaurant was not useable and the one... more
We were in town to visit family and chose the Calgary Marriott Downtown Hotel because of location and price. We were not disappointed! Rented hotel room on priceline.com bet 40.00 dls and it was accepted first time total came after taxes at $ 48.79 and you don't pay GST.
Unique Quality: Great pool at 5th floor with sauna and a whipool too, the gym has fresh fruit to eat you can have a free snack !
Very close to the Glenbow Museum and Calgary Tower.
We had to be in Calgary but couldn't leave our dog with a sitter because of his medical needs. We booked this hotel through expedia because it was dog friendly and had good reviews. Booked ahead for a late 3:00am check in, got to the hotel and the front desk could not find my reservation and accused me of not having a reservation at the hotel. The Marriott down town Calgary is at an excellent location if you are looking to experience down town Calgary. I stayed at the Marriott this weekend and was not happy! I had to change rooms 2 times because of the hair in shower and dirty sheets. Service is great, I stayed for an extended business trip, expensive to stay and valet but so is everything downtown. Wish the Starbucks opened earlier or they had a Tim's but otherwise a good place. I forgot an item and returned a few weeks later and they had it for me.
Spent one night in Calgary waiting for connecting flight - decided to stay in downtown Calgary instead of by airport. Glad we did and great choice for a quick stay in Calgary as this is right around the corner from Stephen Avenue and all its restaurants and bars. Also right by the Calgary Tower - didn't go to it -... more
This is an excellent hotel. The staff is extremely friendly. The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the mountains. It is conveniently located in downtown Calgary, and there is a Starbucks in the lobby. I will definitely stay here again.
Generally good experience at this hotel but they persist in charging guests for the internet.
Wonder how long it will take for Marriott to smarten up that this basic service should be included in the price? If hotels do this, I always make a point of not using their ancillary services (such as restaurants & bars). They end up losing...

I stayed at the Calgary Marriott last year for between 40-50 nights and it became my home away from home. While needing a bit of a reno, it was comfortable, clean and the staff were friendly. I spent two nights at this Marriott in January, after not staying here for a couple of years. We stayed here on a Saturday night when we were going to a Flames game. Great location, friendly staff, nice lounge. The doorman was fast for getting us cabs. The hotel itself is nice, but the staff, especially the night manager/security were very unhelpful. They would not let us visit in the lobby, and when we moved to the vacant second floor, he followed us and told us we had to stay in our room or be kicked out of the hotel.

This was our second stay at the Marriott. It's fine, but I think a 3.5 star rating might be more accurate. The rooms are okay, the ambiance isn't great, but if you plan only to sleep there, and not dine, etc. then it's fine. Compared with other 4 star hotels in the area (Hyatt, Westin, Delta), I find it a... more

Had dinner at the Marriott upstairs. Wasn't ahh at the place but worth it. I would rather stay here than the fairmont hotel. Christmas buffet was 50 dollars. Was worth it. I love the place very much. Like I said I would go back to the place again.
When I was booking this hotel, I was trying to find this information and there was no information at all. It is expected that a downtown hotel will charge for this service, but it is a good idea to inform about it.
Love the location , the bar is stark but the service is great and the appitisers are wonderful. Rooms and hallways need to be updated , but are still nice. The staff at the front desk are very accommodating and the door men are very helpful.
Hotel a little dated but the staff couldn't do enough. Parking not easy or cheap but the staff were efficient and got the car back when i needed it. Room was clean and tidy but the plumbing was a little noisy.
Restaurant was ok and the breakfast was great. Again very helpful staff, the host even asked me if id...

I found all staff that I encountered to be friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was in good shape, the hotel is located right downtown, beside the Calgary tower. There is nothing wrong with this property other than the astronomical price to stay there. This booming oil town is Manhattan expensive. I stayed for 2 days for business trip, I arrived at 8am and ask the reception if they could keep my luggage until check in time, but to my surprise they gave me my room right away, they are very accommodating, nice staff, clean.
It was my birthday and I came in to Hotel with no RSVP not only did they give me a great rate but treated my like a VIP ,made my long flight bumps ,way better by there services.Great happy staff and manger was nice and easy to reach for anything .
Had everything we wanted. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast
This hotel is very convenient to central Calgary, within walking distance of the pedestrian shopping streets, the theatre, art museum, and Chinatown. It is right across from the Calgary Tower. They have valet parking, as there is very limited parking around there. There are also lots of hidden extras, for WiFi, for breakfast in the hotel's dining room, and for parking. Be forewarned.
We were in Calgary for the weekend to attend a wedding. This hotel location was awesome with great views and within walking distance of many great attractions and restaurants and activities. The only downside is the absence of onsite parking so you need to self park next door at an additional charge or use the valet service at a bit more than that. Over all a very nice hotel with good pool and... more
Great hotel, great location, great service. However, the details says "Valet" parking. To me, this means I tip the Valet parking attendant. There was a $25 per night parking fee. Disclosure not cleared, may have stayed at another hotel.
The hotel room was nice, spacious and clean with no smell. The beds were nice and comfortable. The hotel is centrally located but the downside is that they have no space for parking. This is a great inconvenience for people with car. A note of caution, they charge exorbitant price for some local phone calls with the pretext that they were long distance. They don't listen to reasons.
What a nice find, to get Marriott for pretty good value when Banff, Lake Louse, and Canmore were full!Very comfortable, and nice spacious room! I especially love the gadget console for the TV!
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Conveniently located so we could walk where we wanted to go. Staff helpful and friendly.
Downtown - excellent location, good gym, wifi free in lobby but needs to be paid for in rooms
I was staying in Banff but had an early morning flight from the Calgary airport, so spent the night before in this hotel. It was convenient to restaurants and shops, so I had a very pleasant evening, then had no trouble getting a taxi to the airport at 4:30 AM..
I was so grateful to have a great experience. I arrived in Calgary at 1:30am after a 3 hour delay and had to get up early for a speech. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff was polite. The Starbucks in the lobby was extremely handy after just a few hours of sleep. I would highly recommend the Calgary Downtown Marriott to anyone who needs a very nice and comfortable stay.
I picked the hotel hoping to not have any party animals but you always get them.4am with loudness wasnt fun down the hall but can't help them i guess.Otherwise is was good.
The only problem was that we were there the final two nights of the Stampede, on a lower floor, and the street noise was disturbing, but didn't go on too long. Ask for an inside room if you're worried about noise.
We stayed here to enjoy a wedding. It was close enough to downtown so that we could enjoy the festivities downtown before attending the wedding. It was all that we could ask for.
