After a busy day it was great to crawl into the King Size bed. The hotel was really quiet and I had a great sleep. Skoosh was one of the few websites still showing availability when I booked this, so glad to have found a room. Thanks Skoosh!
Yes, good, basic business hotel, helpful staff, Starbucks in lobby, and good location. No luxury, however.
This is a great location as it is across from the Calgary Tower and connected to the Telus Convention Centre. Hotels in downtown Calgary are very expensive, but I got a reasonable rate from Skoosh as compared to direct bookings. The staff were friendly and helpful and I have no complaints.
“Loved the location, right across from the Calgary Tower. The room had a working A/C that kept the room nice & cool during the heatwave, unlike some other hotels. I loved having the fridge standard in-room, without having to request one be sent up. Great experience!”
“Nice clean hotel and rooms, walking distance to many restaurants and nightlife.”
“Parking a nightmare cost $35.00 internet cost extra $16.00 should all be included for cost of this 4 star hotel restaurant closed at 9.00 pm. no restaurants open after 9.00 for late travelers. I would not stay here again.”
“Nice hotel. Clean and Good location. But hard to find Parking except you pay $25 for
valet parking.”
“Nice hotel, great bed and linens, good location and
nice view.”
“Nice, clean hotel, fairly central to downtown Calgary. No parking on site only expensive valet and Internet service is additional $15 to the room.”
“ Excellent value as a Mystery Hotel. Basic but clean and friendly. ”
Third time at the Marriott in Calgary for business, very good service, value, location. Only complaint is that the hotel uses some kind of air scent so lobby smells like a Glade Plug-In. I would stay here again in a heartbeat though, really solid hotel.
“It's location, and presentation were exceptional for my needs. My three days there were extremely delightful. I had my 14 year old daughter and she had a wonderful time as well. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on. More comfortable than my own bed at home, which is very rare in a hotel.”
“Wonderful hotel - very clean - very helpful and kind staff.”
“I stayed at this hotel many times. And
I really like it. I find that this Marriott is very much brand new, very good trained staff, amazing gym. However there is construction right in front of hotel and this is really loud. If you have a car that is parked at the valet parking only part of the time, they will try to charge you for the whole stay. They say they make sure that the car is every...

“The Marriott Hotel, Calgary is a great hotel. I love the hot tub/pool/exercise room - the late hours, the pool is available, makes time for private hot tub/pool time. The food at their restaurant in the lobby was amazing - the best meatloaf and mashed potatoes I've ever had! Plus, Starbucks for breakfast hit the right spot. The view from our room is across from the Calgary Tower - it was neat... more
“I thought the hotel was great for the price, however if I had paid full price I would've been disappointed. The heater in the room was very loud and switched on and off through out the night, waking us up. As we got there late and really were only sleeping, this was quite irritating. Also the light fixture in the shower was broken with exposed wires. Not very safe. Other than that it was a... more
“The location was great, the room was too clean and cozy. I just did not like their double bed as it is too small and narrow. I wish they do have queen beds in the double bed rooms.”
“A
general middle of the road American-type hotel that is homoginized and would probably look the same wherever it was located”
“Nice location. Convenient parking at the hotel. They provide valet parking or you can park your car at a public lot. Valet is cheaper, but hotel was unaware of that. Overall a very nice hotel, but the bed was uncomfortable.”
“Located in the heart of downtown Calgary. The Staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. The room was tastefully decorated and was offered plenty of room. Beds were very comfy.”
“My family and I had an excellent stay, enjoyed the pool, hot tub, exercise room, and the rooms. Staff were especially patient with the grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, we had three rooms, and were coming and going all the time.”
“The Marriott Calgary Hotel has very comfortable accommodations located at the very heart of downtown Calgary.”
“Very nice hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. Nice amenities.”
“Overall, our experience was very good. The only concern was that secure parking was a few blocks away and we had to pay for parking by the hour.”
“I wouldn't stay here again as the rooms were on the smaller side, no fan in the bathroom, you can only get double beds if you have two beds, no queens available.”
“Nice hotel, clean and recently upgraded. Multiple restaurants in complex, with more very short walk away. Great pool area, very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.”
“Excellent hotel. We will always try to stay there when in Calgary! Friendly staff, very clean and very comfortable beds. Room service was excellent.”
“Great hotel, great pool, superb service, great location.”
“Excellent for business or leisure travelers, directly across the street from the Calgary Tower. Stunning views in all directions. Unmatched service from top-notch staff!”
“The service at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. I was greeted warmly by the valet attendant (I didn't valet park) and then the front desk staff who even offered me a bottle of cold water while I was checking in. I had requested a very specific type of room and received exactly what I asked for. The business facilities were included with no extra charge for internet, not usual at this... more
“Very nice hotel. It met all of my expectations. Parking was expensive, you would not be able to park your vehicle on your own due to the hotel being located downtown.”
“Nice location right across the street from Calgary tower. The pool and whirl pool were very nice but there were no change rooms so you had to walk back to you room dripping wet. I did not like that there was no overnight parking anywhere near the hotel so if you drive by car you really have no choice but to use the valet which is a $35.00 a day fee.”
“Great location, very clean. Would definitely stay here again.”
“Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel there was a pool and fitness center which I usually look for at hotels. The restaurant staff was friendly and the food was nice. It was a very comfortable room and I will stay there again on future trips to Calgary.”
“Great hotel. Mostly exceptional service, except when the doorman opened our car door into cement pillar creating small chips. We ended up getting assistance, but they tried to brush the paint chips off as being small and not worthy of insurance. Otherwise, great location, amenities, and very clean!”
“Parking is a hassle and expensive. Room was very big and comfortable. Well treated by staff. Hot tub was down for three days. Great beds, good pillows and very comfy.”
“Enjoyed the hotel very much, just perfect for the business traveler with good service, great amenities, and top notch restaurant.”
“Great hotel with great service, staff was friendly, accommodating and room service was excellent.”
“Except for parking issue, it was a very pleasant experience.”
“Very well run. Great room. Very comfortable. Helpful staff. Recommend it for business travelers.”
“Friendly staff. I ordered room service which seemed less expensive than most hotels in Calgary. Key carded elevator is very annoying.”
Hotel is walkable to the main area of downtown. Nice touch to have the Starbucks in the lobby for those of us who prefer a quick on-the-go breakfast in the morning. Also good to have the check-in kiosk for airlines in the lobby area as well. Excellent service and friendly faces all around. Apples in the lobby and the flavored water station was very much appreciated. Fitness area wonderful,... more
“I would recommend this hotel. Clean, modern, fast elevators and excellent location.”
“Great place to stay but no hotel parking ,only valet.”
“Nice place. $ 22 a day for parking at a place not close. No parking for my pickup truck. Needed taxi every time
I wanted to go anyplace, would not stay there again.”
“Very clean and comfortable with a great location. The worst thing I could say about this hotel was that the long lines at Starbucks in the a.m. made it necessary to come down 15 minutes early for coffee. The hotel staff was quite nice and the valet parking was reasonably priced. The Calgary Tower and Ruth's Chris are right across the street and there were many places to dine within a safe... more
Check-in was fast and efficient. Our voucher was accepted without question. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was clean and functional. Check-out was effortless. Overall, a very favorable opinion of hotel and staff. My only complaint was $16 charge for internet connection - the highest I've every encountered, even more so than in Europe.
The Marriott in downtown Calgary is a good hotel, but not quite as upscale as some of it's neighbors. All the same, the rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the service acceptable. The location in downtown is close to Stephen Ave, the train, the needle-thing, and is within reasonable walking distance to several downtown towers. The Starbuck's downstairs is a nice perk, and the other... more
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff from the General Manager to housekeeping. Food superb and beautifully presented. Ah, but the gym was above and beyond. Very urbane and classy. Once the fruit bowl was depleted, another selection of fruit magically appeared and the water cooler never was warm or empty. Big fat Turkish towels abounded and the machines were new and plentiful. All in... more
Great downtown location. Rooms nice, good for business trip or vacation. Trader's Grill breakfast convenient and food is well done. Very good value for the money spent. Excellent fitness room with headsets provided, water, fruit and towels as well (5 treadmills!). Only drawbacks are the valet parking fee (high at $28 per night) or self parking ($22 and not conveniently located) and the... more
