Cafe Shafali is a tasty, colourful Indian resto conveniently located close to Ottawa’s famed Byward Market.
After a day’s wander around town taking in the usual tourist attractions, this bright Indian jewel near the market was just what our hungry tummies – and weary feet – needed.

July 16, 2007The best Indian food in Ottawa. The service is friendly and personal the naan bread to die for. Chicken korma and their tandoori dishes ae excellent. Start with the onion bhaji and you wont be disappointed.

I simply love to go to cafes in Ottawa. I've been to this cafe and it's really good. In all honesty though, I love every single cafe for it's unique atmosphere and awesome service.

Went there for a Sunday brunch. Had steep Bloody Mary and very tasty pork sandwiches. As well as delicious Creme Brulee and Expresso/Vanilla ice cream. Altogether a good place to stop by after fun at the beach.

Been there several times. Food is always delicious though the service is slow and the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Nice paintings on the walls if only they were visible (very dim lighting). $80 for two including appetizer and two llasis.

We found the restaurant extremely dark even with the candle we had at the table, service was SLOW but the food was well worth the wait. We ordered combination C - and it was excellent, the lamb was extremely tasty and VERY HOT! The vegetarian dish that was included was also very flavourful and the dishes complimented each other well.
