I visit here a lot because it has a great selection of vegan options every day including egg, dairy and gluten free baked goods, which are rare to find in most restaurants. The dairy free cheesecake (or "zeezcake" as they call it) is absolutely delicious and available often in a different flavor every time. I highly recommend it! Cafe Loka... more
Family of 3 enjoyed a lunch at the cafe. The chili was very good - just the right combination of veggies and spices. Tasty burritos. The rice dish with chicken was nicely done. Service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. Vegan, gluten-free treats are on the menu. The cafe is bicycle-friendly, being on a street with a bicycle lane and having... more
My boyfriend had decided to try this place out since we are new to the area and live a couple houses away. When we went in and were seated we waited and waited and waited until we just got up and left and never went back. its a shame though because of its proximity it would have been our go... more
Did not live up to expectations. Staff were slow and after three visits and four dishes I can safely say much if their Lebanese and Canadian menu suffers from small servings and badly combined flavours. There are too many nice restaurant cafés nearby to stop here.
Stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Service was very friendly and the food was unique and tasty.
Although we had lunch here a few years ago, with extremely slow service, and mediocre food, we found ourselves hard pressed to find any of our favorite establishments open on a Sunday morning in Fredericton, so we once again ventured into the Cedar Tree Cafe. We were waited on right away, and our server delivered coffee to the table about... more
We decided to come to this restaurant because of recommendations on Web site. We arrived from St leonard. At 12.45 Saturday 28th june we were greeted by a lady saying she was going close. I was a bit perplexed by this as they said they were open for lunch. My guests said let's go. I decided to investigate a little... more
Wonderful staff at this cafe. The service was exceptional. I will be back to try one of the delicious sounding features. Coffee was great!
Stopped in for a quick coffee in the morning and enjoyed the atmosphere and coffee so much we came back for lunch. Food and portion sizes were good with fresh flavours. I would classify the menu and venue as more hipster middle eastern rather than authentic, but this was a part of the charm of the place. Service was attentive... more
The atmosphere and service are great, however the food not so much.
We ordered the large Mezza plate and it was alright. It consisted of three balls of Falafel ( Which were too compressed and dense, the spices were too bitter it was rather hard to bite into them and swallow unless dipped into a sauce to lighten them up...

When I worked in Fredericton for the summer two years ago, I used to eat here once or twice a week. While the food wasn't cheap, the quality of ingredients and creativity put into the menu made me more than happy to shell out the occasional 15-20$ for a well-made healthy lunch and coffee. The service was excellent, and the... more
This place is a regular haunt for me. The food is tasty, the coffee among the best in town, and the daily specials are almost always worth your while. It's best experienced while not at peak hours, although this can be hard. Its downtown location and reasonable prices keep it pretty busy. Tapas night is great, as well—food and live... more
This is a good little cafe for lunch. The food was freshly made which is a plus, however, having eaten Lebanese food in various parts of the world including the Middle East it just does not have the same authenticity. That said I do not blame the cafe I blame the difficulty in getting the best ingredients in North America.... more
Had a coffee date with a friend on a Saturday afternoon (1 ish). It was quite busy, and felt a bit cramped. I had a cappuccino that was good. I was only going for a coffee, but when I saw the menu I was intrigued. I got the curried rice bowl, which I was excited for. My excitement disappeared when... more
This cozy resto specializes in middle eastern food and those looking for a fun, casual dining experience will not be disappointed. With wood floors and well spaced tables the modern ambiance is spacious and cozy at the same time.
They serve the best coffee in the city and the fried haloum cheese is to die for. There are several vegetarian...

The coffee here is the only good thing about this place. There is a trendy atmosphere but to be honest I miss the simplicity and quality of the food at the old Cedar Tree on York St. The food here is pricey and nothing spectacular. Midsea on Regent might lack the ambience but its food is much better.
Nice place to grab a coffee while shopping in Fredericton. Had two cappuccinos and loved them. Cool art on the wall and very friendly staff.
I frequently visit here, and enjoy much about it.
This is a Lebanese inspired café, with a reasonable selection of mezze style food, a great wine list and great coffee. It has a good selection for vegetarians.
There are occasional live music performances and there is alway really interesting art on the walls.
It is not cheap, so despite it's...

Really loved the unique choice of coffee and middle eastern food. Best if both worlds. The service was quick and pleasant. Will come back again when in Fredericton
Restaurant serves gluten-free, vegetarian , and regular menu. Music at night. Also lots of funky paintings. Also great coffees and tea. Delightful staff - good value
This is one of the best places to enjoy a cup of coffee I have been to. Delicious coffee, a newspaper for customers to read, reliable free wifi, a good vibe and friendly service is the five star cafe experience I seek and enjoy for an hour or two when I find it. Few places can pull it off but... more
We've visited a half-dozen times so far and have never been disappointed (except for the day we arrived to find it was the one day of the week they weren't open). The restaurant's decor and the food presentation are all about capturing the eye. And the quality of the food matches the elegant design.
Recently came here for coffee and breakfast. I was starving. I got coffee and a menu quickly but after more than 20 minutes had to go to the bar to order as the waiter, although friendly was not attentive. Same thing happened when I wanted my cheque. It wasn't busy so not sure what the issue was but it was... more
I went to the Cedar Tree for lunch today and have been there several times in the past. My overall comment is that the quality of the food is excellent, but it is somewhat expensive. The service is generally very good, with the wait staff being friendly (though sometimes not attentive enough).
I got a salad special for lunch, which...

I spent a half hour at this with my mother only to leave before our meal even came. Let me start by saying that in the course of us sitting here fie tables that were seated after us were served, payed and left while we were still waiting on our beverages. After 20 minutes we had to flag down a... more
Cool looking spot, but you don't eat cool. Food was average at best and over priced. They are saying all the right things... Local... Made fresh... But my meal today (Spanish rice) was average at best. Best part of the whole experience was our server and the Picaroons beer. Forgettable.
Amazing soup, amazing atmosphere and amazing service I go there at least once a week and I have never been disappointed
loved my cappacino and glucose free sausage with tahini sauce - eclectic atmosphere - downtown Fredericton
This cafeteria and bistro has a gorgeous Mexican coffee and high class food. I have been there twice for having breakfast and have not been dissapointed. I highly recommend a latte, with a pumkin muffin and a breakfast wrap. This place has natural options and very good food. I recommend it a lot.
I went to Cedar Tree Cafe with my husband and a friend and we had an excellent time with good food and terrific music. It was Friday and the place had live music, jazz, fabulous. I recommend it a lot. Food is from Middle East, high class and very good. Highly recommendable!
I was visiting Fredericton and asked someone for a coffee recommendation. The coffee was so good here I came back and got another one to go before I left the area.
I also had a sandwich, which, while nothing wrong with it, wasn't great.
But the Canadiano. If I lived in Fredericton, I'd be by there at least once a...

Came here for lunch and hated it! Yes, the coffee was great, but the food was bland, the flavours were off, the price was waayy too high and it was just an overall bad place to eat at. The least a restaurant can do is serve good food, and it failed even at that! Do not recommend this place at... more
I used to be a regular at the Cedar Tree Cafe purely because their Canadiano is very good and because the interior design gives it a nice ambiance, however, I'm tired of giving this place chance after chance. The food is unimaginative, mostly flavourless (apart from their halloom cheese which the just grill!) and overpriced. The falafel is so dry... more
Delicous food and their coffee is to die for :) The service is always friendly and prompt. Great spot to stop for a snack or a cuppa java.
Cedar Tree Cafe seems to be the go to place for informal to business meetings. The service is efficient with friendly staff and the menu seems to please a great number of people. I go for the coffee, it is rich, and has a wonderful flavour. The cafe seems to do a wonderful business and I am happy to have... more
Staff is always friendly, the food is delicious, and often they bring in the best little musical acts! My favourite time is on a Friday night when the Alex Bailey's Swing Band plays. The place is just hopping! Dancing, food, drink, and a very festive environment. I've also seen quieter acoustic acts here as well and I've always found the... more
Great food, great coffee, and a great atmosphere. The service is a little slow, but it's usually pretty busy when we are there so you can see past it. Highly recommend it.
The most progressive coffeeshop in Fredericton. Great espresso coffee, food, free wifi, and bands in the evening. It is just a great place to hang out, and they never tell you to leave.
Was back again, and had veggie pizza and salad with maple vinegrette. Delish! Finished with the best coffee in Freddy...Vida. Cannot say enough good things about the staff @ Loka. They are all fantastic. If you haven't tried Loka yet, don't wait. Visit here every time I am in Fredericton.
Hands-down best non-corporate coffee shop and Lebanese Bistro in Fredericton. Lots of fresh local ingredients and a favourite spot for our out of office meetings. Staff are always friendly and food is very good and coffees are top shelf.
This is fairly new to Fredericton's downtown but is fitting in beautifully. The menu is very healthy with many options that I had never heard of. Not cheap but healthy.
My mom and I enjoyed brunch at the Cedar Tree. We both have Celiac disease, so dining out if never easy. My mom had Lebanese food (DELICIOUS) and I had the Paleo breakfast. Best bacon and coffee....mmmmmm. Our server was sweet and attentive, but not overly attentive. I love the downtown vibe of this cool, fresh "hole in the wall."... more
Great food, friendly and knowlegeable staff. Always very helpful when it comes to gluten intolerance. If you like coffe you have to try the spicy three.
Awesome little spot, food is fresh and amazing. Coffee is the best in the city? Staff are friendly and welcoming!! Will be going back more often for my morning coffee and treat.
Just discovered this absolute gem of restaurant/cafe and I am so glad I did. Amazing food, service was above and beyond! Lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. Meals are cooked fresh, in front of you. The staff were all super friendly & upbeat. Best coffee in the city, and lots of options such as almond & hemp milk... more
Cafe Loka was great!
Just happened to stop in with a friend and was really happy to see the great options for drinks and food! They even have almond milk!
Reminded me of the kind of cafe you'd find near Kensington Market in Toronto.
The first time we went to the Cedar Tree it was in the old location on York street, we were the only people there to eat, the server greeted us with a big smile and offered us to choose any seat we liked. After a few minutes of looking at the menu she returned to take our order, at the... more
Cafe Loka does have great coffee, but be prepared to pay a steep additional fees if you get it to go, and have LOTS of extra time. This is not a place to simply get a coffee. On more than one occasion I`ve waited 20 minutes to get a coffee. Unfortunately I end up going here anyways because the location... more
The food menu is limited, though pretty good. Mostly healthy stuff, like humus and salads. Specials change from day to day. In a great area.
We stopped here for lunch on New Brunswick Day, a day when, strangely lots of restaurants were closed. The first surprise was how bright and airy this place was; the second surprise was that the restaurant was buzzing with young folks intently talking and/or checking out stuff on their iPads and MacBooks. The menu is focused on Lebanese foods cooked... more
