What a breath of fresh air in centretown. I've never figured out why Ottawa has such a lack of decent grocery stores in its downtown core, but they really are few and far between. I had the hotel concierge recommend this place - I needed someplace that sold produce ( I fast on Mondays and can only have fruits etc.), this Ana average fruit Market I think, but given that I did not see any other in the area, I can see that might be a big deal for a lot of people. I grew up in Ottawa and once I lived on my own I was usually living nearby Boushey's. Recently I went back to visit family and was staying nearby. It sure felt nostalgic heading in here with my shopping list for dinner ingredients.

Boushey's used to be my last resort when I had to buy anything while living on Elgin. It's not that I didn't want to support them it's just that I found a lot of their product expensive...almost Murray's Market expensive and that place went under.

This place is so cool! They sell lots of local brands and have a huge variety of groceries, it's bigger than you'd think it would be at first glance and you can get just about everything here.

Make sure to try the samosas, they're really tasty. My boyfriend is literally obsessed with them and gets 5 everytime we're on Elgin.

Fruit basket

We received a beautiful fruit and goody basket as a gift. It was full of perfect beautiful fruit, just the right amount of chocolate, cheese, crackers and other treats. The best I have ever seen. I will definitely order from them when I am sending one out in the Ottawa area.
