This bakery-restaurant is the kind you wish for in every neighborhood. There are mouth-watering pastries for breakfast, sit-down service for lunch every day, house specialties such as cassoulet toulousain, and homemade breads that are sold in a shop at the entrance. The "Eastern Township-style" panini with smoked Lake Brome duck breast, blue cheese from nearby Abbaye de Saint-Benoît-du-Lac,... plus
I travelled a lot and I enjoy trying out new places. Therefore, I've had some very bad experiences in my time. This place however, surely takes the cake. Absolutely horrible service that prompted our group of 7 to leave. The owner was so rude that she was practically yelling. We asked for a table of 8 and got a table... plus
I disagree. The best croissants I have ever had outside of France. A real treasure. We feel that we are are lucky to have such an extraordinary chef in the townships!
Long time to be served, no smile by employees, table not clean. Croissants not fresh. This was our last time there.
We stopped in Magog on our way to Montreal via the Eastern Township loop. Beautiful little town on the lake. We split a sandwich of grilled chicken breast with a salad and I also had the vegetable soup. The sandwich was very good, but the soup was outstanding. I had never had a pureed version of vegetable soup and it... plus
Spent a long time waiting, when finally served, was given old, cold croissants. Really expensive. Not great experience, will never go back.
This boulangerie has become our regular place to have lunch whenever we stay in Magog. It reminds us of a typical boulangerie in Paris with excellent lunches, often followed by delectable pastries and coffee. We visited Magog this weekend and visited the cafe three times (twice for lunch and once for afternoon deserts), knowing that we could depend on good... plus
Thius is a great place for a snack or lunch - also, visit their place in Mansonville (Owl's Head) which is quaint, has great baked good, frozen dinners, and a wonderful place for lunch (when they're open!).
Very nice place for lunch. Great service & tasty food. Ordered the 3 duck rillette with salad (really meaty & tasty duck), duck breast with Saint Benedict Abbey cheese panini with salad (with toasted walnuts - scrumptiously good!) blueberry tartlet & meringue with chocolate ganache filling (very yummy). Overall nice simple tasty lunch. Service was good & food came quickly.
We had lunch here on our way back to Manoir Hovey after visiting Abbaye Saint Benoit-du-lac. The notice on the door that it was recommended by TripAdvisor told us we would not be disappointed. We chose from the chalkboard specials and were richly rewarded with well-prepared and beautifully presented meals. In fact, we enjoyed it so much we returned the... plus
This was a great spot for lunch in Magog. There is a nice waterfront view and pleasant surroundings (rhough too cold for the outdoor seating.) The soups de jour of vegetable soup and gazpacho were both excellent. The smoked salmon was beautifully presented and delicious. The Nicoise salad was also top notch. The bread is heavenly (and there were lots... plus
Fast and friendly service. Descent cappuccino etc. The sandwiches, soup and baked goods looked tasty and better than the lunch we had at a nearby pub, though we did not eat there as we only wanted coffee. Nice view of the river.
We went in this bakery expected a nice breakfast but were really disapointed. Hot chocolate was good but served with just 1 pastry or 3 tiny toasts (not even baguette!), no juice but good jam.
We bought our next breakfast in IGA and have it in our hotel room.
My wife and I were planning a visit to the Eastern Townships for her birthday, and an internet search turned up this apartment above a bakery, The owner confirmed our reservation and took a $125 deposit on my credit card several weeks prior to the date of our arrival. We were told that we couldn't check in until after 4:30... plus
Home baking, very French cafe, tables overlook river
We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious, unrushed brunch at this cafe overlooking the marina in Magog.
Over the course of two hours, we tried mushroom soup, several entrees including a hearty raclette, gratin savoyarde, and some tasty duck breast sandwiches, and some dessert cookies and cafe au lait. The house wine was a brunello blend!
All the servings were high quality...

The previous reviewer pretty much said it all (but I will still go on), we loved the place. We chose it primarily because it had a washer dryer and was in walking distance of good restaurants. We were on a long motorcycle trip with very small saddlebags, and it is very frustrating to waste an hour on a beautiful day... plus
A real delight. Stopped for sandwiches and had a pleasant surprise. Duck confit sandwich is outstanding. The front is a bakery with great bread and lots of scrumptious pastries. They have a nice deck for warm weather dining that overlooks the river. Service was pleasant and efficient.
Perfection! Good food, fine wines store, superb accommodation, friendly merchants, lake and riverside living - all found in Magog, Quebec. For the fitness conscious there are a variety of spas, endless cycling trails, horseback riding, skiing in season, water sports and a miles-long promenade. For entertainment, Magog offers a three-screen cinema up the street, exceptional quality ice-cream... plus
We were looking for a relaxed place for lunch. We were delighted we stumbled on this place. It's basically a bakery with a restaurant space. The best items appeared to be sandwiches using their own excellent bread. They are served with a side salad.
Seating is in a cafe area at the rear of their store and on a deck...
