The Bostonian Ottawa Executive Suites – a hip, contemporary Downtown Ottawa hotel, where extended stay guests relax in apartment-style Ottawa suites and hotel rooms. Meeting rooms available
Romm temperature very hot. Even after complaining no possibilities of adjusting temperature. Room temperature between 25 and 30... Breakfast very minimal, no fruits, no yogourt, no milk.
Parking was inadequate for the size of the Hotel and was a hidden cost of approx $17.00 a night -- if you could persuade staff to reserve you a spot. Room housekeeping was inadequate (toilet not cleaned during stay, winter salt stains on the carpet). TV remote functions did not all work (had to change channel manually which was annoying. On the other hand the kitchenette was spotless, and the... more
room 110 where I was the hand towel was already used & soiled the bed linen were not changed & there was no inside parking available
Good Hotel. Clean, decent amenities. Good for business trips.
Staff was really friendly, always did a great job of cleaning up my room...very accommodating...didn't like the fact I had to pay for parking at the hotel but it is Ottawa.
Overall my stay at The Bostonian was great. I went for three days, and had the studio suite, which was great for one person. The kitchen and bathroom were quite small but adequate. I have two complaints, first would be the shower head, why can't they install a better shower head. It basically was like someone pouring water on you from a small glass. Quite frustrating. The second one is the... more
Pleasant, reasonably priced clean hotel. Problem was the deafeningly loud HVAC / heating fan adjacent to my room. It was loud enough to disturb sleep.
Also, not enough parking available on-premise.
staff very friendly / hotel providing good service / bathroom very small, can touch my elbows to the ceiling / room temperature very warm, unable to cool down room unless opening balcony door to street noise / phone cord damaged making phone conversations difficult / bed very comfortable / breakfast area clean with good food & hot coffee / my wife would rate the hotel 4.5 out of 5 / I would... more
The room was great very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Had the smallest kitchen I've ever seen but didn't mind as it was just nice to have one. Good location being walking distance to the market down the road and a lot of other stores (great viet thai restaurant just down the street.) only concern was the parking. it filled up the second night and we got the choice to park in the lot... more
The primary problem I encountered was the temperature in the room. I had to open the patio doors all the way as well as the blinds to keep from baking in the room.
There was no way to reduce the heat pouring into the room so needless to say I was quite uncomfortable for the night and I got very little sleep
in last 2 months i book this hotel 15 times will continued staying there everything perfect
Very good central location. High quality rooms which have complete amenities for both a short or longer term stay. Great property. Only one criticism is that the wireless was a little weak and at times Un-connectable however staff indicated that they were in the process of changing service providers.
Very nicely appointed. Needs more reading light in the living room.
Great location.
Great wireless.
Only critique is the strength of the wifi - it was very weak on the 7th floor (709). Beyond that, great place to stay.
This place is ok. Free internet but quite slow and unreliable (C). I had to go to a coffee nearby to work. Parking is small and can be complex. I had to leave my keys and they moved my car around (C). No pool (F). Gym is like 15x15 feet and not enough for people who are into this. Nice to have but incomplete(B). Location A+, lots of restaurants, shops, bars, etc... Staff is ok but can be weird.... more
Bostanian suites were above my expectations ! At first, room assigned to me was behind the escalator. So I asked for a room switch wich was done easily and with a smile. Service was great, room clean, well decorated. Everything was perfect beside the room capacity where breakfast is been served. One morning it was so full with children crying... more
Pros confortable bed, parking, reasonable price. Cons: room so hot you have to sleep with door open, no possibility of adjusting temperature as thermostat is on position off and still very hot in room, aircondition doesnt work. Breakfast minimal, no fruit, no yogourt, no milk for coffee. Wifi so slow reminds you of the 80's...i won t be back.
For booking a hotel, sight unseen, through the internet, I was leary about what we would encounter. The Bostonian is a mid size, 9 story hotel, that was truly comfortable to stay in, with worry free underground assigned parking (fee attached) . The suite we had was just right for a couple, small kitchenette complete with refrigerator, stove top, microwave toaster oven, dishwasher and coffee... more
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Bostonian Executive Suites in Ottawa. The location was walking distance to restaurants and cafes but it was on a quiet side street. The addition of a full kitchen was appreciated, except I did set of the fire alarm.
I would definitely stay again on any future visits to Ottawa.
It was a good place to stay, but one thing that surprised me was a charge for parking which I was not aware of when the hotel was booked.
Close to downtown. Nice neighbourhood. I enjoyed it.
Notre chambre avait deux... more
I had a good stay. The room was not very large. Only Good for 2 person (Had a single queen bed). It was well decorated. Had a small kitchenet with a dishwasher, refridgerator, stove, microwave, and some dishes. Television was nicely located and in good condition (LG model at the time). Had a 2 person balcony. Beautiful window blinds. Bed was comfortable. Regulating the A/C did not work as... more
Great location and the price was right but very disappointed with the staff at reception. No smiles and always have to call out to have them come out from the side room where they hide out. The whole time we stayed there (5 days), whenever we walked into the hotel, no one was visible behind the reception desk. The only thing they said to us when we checked out was to ask which credit card we... more
Très belle chambre avec petite cuisinette. Tout était très bien sauf qu'on avait un lit double au lieu de queen ou king. ça ne peut pas être parfait! :)
The clean rooms and comfy bed were let down by the polite but not particularly friendly reception staff - that is, when there actually was anyone on reception.
Fab accommodation, loved it. Breakfast not up too much, formica cups, spoons and plates so would skip that next time but top class facilities.Clean, modern, fully equipped ( even had a dishwasher and dishwasher tabs ) and a great location.
This is a slightly older hotel and a bit far from the more interesting parts of Ottawa but still within walking distance of everything (although a bit of a cool walk in winter).
I've been back several times..
Frühstück war scheußlich. Es gab nichts zum Essen. Ansonsten war alles OK.
The room itself was fine, but ALL of the towels were dirty. They were either badly stained (yellow splotches all over) or had weird brown streaks (actual physical dirt--looked like makeup). Even more repulsive was the fact that the towels were folded to appear clean. Upon first glance, they looked fine, but once they were opened, there was a lot of visible stains and dirt. Even the dish towel... more
it was a nice little room, with a flat srceen, in a quiet area, few mins. walk to all the fun. but only negative thing was that the pillow smelled like f@!t.
NAY!!!!!!! It was not a place I would ever want to stay again, no restaurant etc. not nearly as nice as the photos. The closet door was broken, the bathroom was literally the size of a small closet. I think it was a low rent apartment building that they purchased and reno’d as they each had a pathetic kitchen.
I stayed there over New Years for one night - great stay. Very nicely decorated hotel and rooms - the balcony was a real treat. Would recommend to anyone, much better than your typical hotel - great price!
located on a street of apartments which was an interesting selection.. gave you a true taste of the area. Steps from Elgin Street which is full of bars, fine dining and shops.
great time!
Spent i night. This boutique hotel is in a great central location downtown. I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely modern interior; leather chairs and ottoman, flat panel TV, nice lamps and art The bedding was high quality, the bathroom, although small in my studio suite, was sparking clean and had nice toiletries. The continental breakfast was simple, but perfectly fine with coffee, juice,... more
Went for a one night business stay. Easy check in and parking. Bed is a double so not sure how comfortable it would be with two people (I like my space). Full kitchen, desk and TV you really feel at home especially for a longer stay. Although the hotel is older the remodelling/furnishing really make it feel alot newer. Location was great- close to the office building plus 5 minute walk to Elgin... more
Difficult time getting decaf coffee I instead of regular. Very quiet and private
Although the room was a little smaller than I expected, it was adequate, clean and for the price met my expectations. The free parking is a huge plus as some of the Hotels in downtown Ottawa can charge $20-$25/day. Right in the middle of the night/pub scene.
not really in a good area of town.. had no underground parking left when we arrived, had to park in back lot not very safe looking... the first suite we had was dirty, and extremely noisy then we were given another suite on another floor and it was better. Good for your money and for a short stay, but would not stay there for a week!
Although my room and stay were great I found the reception and check in not so friendly or helpful. Though I paid for my room fully in advance the stafff insisted on a credit card on check in. Since I didn't have one they were unwilling to allow me to check in even after offering a cash deposit for damages, etc
J'avais indiqué que je désirais une chambre avec deux lits, mais malheureusement, le message ne s'est pas rendu à l'hôtel. Pouvez-vous faire en sorte que les commentaires remplis par les clients soient bel et bien acheminés à l'hôtel.
Merci!
Everything was as advertised and location was close to good restaurants etc. When we asked for a cot to accommodate our grandson, we were upgraded to a suite free of charge.
I like the Bostonian. Restaurants, cafes, and a grocery store are close by - all within walking distance. The hotel is in a great neighborhood in the centre of the city.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The underground parking garage is small and might be tricky for anyone with a full-sized vehicle.
In summary: the Bostonian is a small hotel. It doesn't offer the same amenities and...

Très bien situé. La service était très bien. En se qui concerne la chambre la salle de bain est très petite mais le reste est bien.
Hotel was clean, compact rooms with everything you needed for stay. Staff were courteous and helpful. Good location for city
hotel was great for the most part. Room was too small to have double beds. The blinds on the patio door were a nusiance. Hard to open and close.
Well-appointed suites with good kitchens. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms. Excellent location for business downtown, with fast and easy access to interesting neighbourhoods such as the Glebe. The front desk staff are welcoming and helpful.
We stayed in the Bostonian for a weekend during winterlude and thought it was a great boutique hotel. The location is great, close to everything downtown. We booked a regular room, but were upgraded to a 1 bed suite on arrival. The suite was very spacious with a full kitchen and living area. Very clean, the bed was comfy and... more
Positives: Clean, comfortable, good location, good breakfast
Negatives: No bible, weak coffee, bad pillows
All in all, happy with the stay. Just not sure why the hotel decided not to have bibles in the room. This maybe old fashion but I feel safe with it's presence.
The pillows were down and they did not provide enough neck support.
This hotel advertises "affordable luxury" but I think they should drop the "luxury" part of the description.
The room had a very small kitchenette with some old pots and pans, some cutlery, some cooking utensils, three small plates but no cups or coffee mugs.
The room was relatively clean although there was a used coffee cartridge left in the coffee...

As an excellent location for gay couple, Bostonian was too pricey for a small room and tiny toilette (smaller than kitchenette). It was quite the snowstorm that hit Ottawa on the 21st and as I was visiting friends downtown I thought I would book something close by so that I could walk, and not drive, to do some Christmas shopping as well as visiting. The room I got needed to be vacuumed. However, after asking it was done properly. Takes awhile for water to exit the bathtub while showering, the internet was slow, and parking was $14 a nite. Great for the regular business traveler or the weekend stay.
Great value for the money
PS – I am now only putting in extra words to meet that damn tripadvisor 200 character minimum :)
We stayed here for 4 nights and found the place to be stuffy and unclean. From utensils to the carpet, things were unclean and dusty.

My boyfriend and I planned a night away in Ottawa to do some sight seeing and attractions, and were drawn to this hotel because of it's afforability and central location.

I often stay overnight at the Bostonian for work in Ottawa. I find the rooms provide all the amenities that one would expect for short and longer stays. We were looking for a hotel in the area. It was walking distance to everything downtown. Great neighbourhood. We were only there to sleep but had a nice little kitchen and all you would need if you were using it for home base. Great feel when you come in the lobby.
Hotel is located in a quiet residential area with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The room was clean and the beds were super-comfortable. Staff was friendly. Check-in and out was quick and easy. Loved the daily housekeeping--fresh towels every day. The housekeeping staff even loaded and operated the dishwasher for us. I miss the Bostonian already.
My spouse and I were in Ottawa for a few days, among other things, to scout out where our son and fiancee's wedding is going to be next year. Unless you want to purchase your own food, refrain from staying in the hotel during the summer months, drive a small vehicle, and are willing to pay 'double' for parking, (i.e. $14.00 per night for the hotel, plus parking everywhere else that you want to go, since the hotel is too far to walk from anywhere), do NOT stay at... more
