Ok for food, meh service

If you're having steak, you'll probably enjoy the experience, but the rest of menu was just ok. Not really filled with refinement.The service was a little lukewarm. The servers look overworked but trying to fake a smile. They did everything they were supposed to do, but with all the enthusiasm of\u2026 well, an underpaid under appreciated staff.

our server was great, but service and food was not. needed to wait for cutlery, one meal came out first 6 mins late the remainder meals came out. beef was grey in colour. apps where tasteless.

Everthing was great but we found our waitress to be unattentive...not usually like this but this time it was.

Outstanding Steak

Celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here. Servers and staff kept coming up and wishing him a happy birthday, and even gave us a free dessert. Food was excellent! Definitely recommend any of the steaks :) The restaurant even called me the next day to ask how the service had been - amazing!!!

Great Steak restaurant

I love this steak restaurant as it is brighter and livelier then Gotham's, Hys etc. The strip loin was excellent. The oysters were excellent. The creme brule wasn't for me. Maybe some people love it but I prefer the more traditional creme brule. I also tried the pomegranite cake... and also wasn't a big fan. But the main's were excellent and the ambience on the roof top patio is lively (and loud).

I was a bit disappointed with the food, especially with the rave reviews I've heard. For the amount of money your paying for a chateaubriande, I expected it to be better. I loved The roof top at Black and Blue. Service was great, everyone seems to be really energetic and fun! I recommend this place!

Awesome patio

We had a great time! Food was awesome (waygu beef is melt in your mouth) and we had good service. The waiter accidently spilled a glass of wine on a guest in our group. He brought us a dessert platter to share which was most appreciated. Definitely a great spot on a warm Vancouver evening.

Appetizers were really good.
The appetizers were very good; the main courses were fairly good, but not memorable.
The wait for the main courses was in our experience, way too long.....
Our server (Chris) was at the top of his game and was greatly appreciated.

went early enough where we had a choice of seats. Ambience was nice and noise level was low due to being an early dinner.

the only place for Prime Rib!

Must order the mac and cheese sticks with truffle sauce, and must order the prime rib!! Leah was our server- she is so cool and layed back. I recommend going a little earlier before the "pretentious crowd" shows up around ten PM or so. Enjoy!

First time going to Black & Blue. The food was done to perfection. Our waiter Branden was great. He recommended a fabulous wine and kept us laughing. Ask for his Greek salad.

- menu items are expensive
- service is decent - staff is courteous and friendlyOverall my experience at Black and Blue is below average. My ratings are rated low because I became quite ill after having their steak tartare and steak oscar. You have been warned.

Hottest patio in Vancouver

We were so lucky to experience the upstairs patio, what an Oasis! The flames surrounding us while cool air breezed through was such a sensation. TRY ... the signature brussel sprouts, the butter cake, the Waygu beef (melts like butter) and dare to have the Macaroni Sticks with truffle! Brilliant all around!!

Celebrating with co-workers

I decided to invite some co-workers to celebrate my one year anniversary of working with them. The reservation was made and we were placed in a quieter location. The food was great but it was a pain getting to our table just a lot of mock ups before we actually got to sit down. Our reservation was for 830 and they made a mistake of thinking it was for 1030. Great food, service and environment. Black and Blue sets the mark high for a great steakhouse dining experience with a west coast flare. Oysters to start than steak. What a meal. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Wine list is a bit pricey.

Good ambience, good service and excellent food. The prime rib roast is to die for.

Go for wagyu steak

Seafood plate is great for a group of people to share, Japanese wagyu steak is just melting in your mouth, the best ever steak! Don't forget to order a dessert, nicely presented and very delicious. Good list of wine and cocktails, waiters are very friendly

Amazing date spot

I took my wife to Black &Blue for her birthday. It was amazing. They're almost obsessive about their meat, which is great for you as a diner! The service was incredible, and the chateaubriand for two was a very reasonably priced romantic meal to share. Drinks are too expensive, at $10 to $15 for a cocktail, but it really was a wonderful night. We'll be back for sure.

Great Steakhouse

Wanted to find a steakhouse to take my father in law to while visiting Vancouver. We settled on Black and Blue, they were fantastic and the food was terrific. I would definitely go again.

Snobish front desk

The front desk is terrible! We asked for a booth seat and she said all the booth seats were reserved. Instead, we got a small table in the center of the hallway.
