After weeks of deciding where to dine for my birthday, my girlfriend and I both decided on Black Angus Steak House which was convenient for us as it's not far from home.
Without my knowledge my girlfriend had arranged with the restaurant to have a custom made cake (that she delivered there in the afternoon) be bought out after dinner,...

I had't been to the black angus in 20 years and was happy that the place had the same service and quality food in a great new setting. Waiters were extremely attentive, apps were exceptional, steaks were top notch and we had a great time. Will go again soon - I might even bring my wife next time!
It's been many years since I dined at the Black Angus and I was shocked when I walked in the front door for a recent dinner. Rather than the dark, tired Tudor-style interior I found a completely transformed room with beautiful colours, rich wood tones and beautifully lit. I suspect the redo is part of the 50th anniversary of this... more
Not sure what I liked more, the steak, the exceptional cocktail, or the overall ambience. TOOK ME YEARS TO GET HERE. However, am definitely going back.
the transformation of this place is terrific. Had a meal which was exactly what we were expecting and the waitstaff, especially Al, were top notch and very professional. This restaurant has re established itself as the place to go for a good steak in the West End. Wine list is good and meal was delivered how it was ordered and... more
Visited Black Angus Steakhouse with my husband, his 1st time my 3rd. It has gone through a renovation since my last visit. The decor was very simple but tasteful. The wait staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Steak was very good and my salmon was exceptional, very tasty! Overall our experience at the Black Angus Steakhouse was amazing.
This was my first time came to this steakhouse as my friend's friend highly recommended this place. I like this nice and cozy decor and staff were very nice and attentive. You can see all kind of aged and fresh meat from the restaurant and see the chef prepare the grilled steak as well. The steak itself was excellent. I... more
I was treated to dinner at Black Angus for my birthday recently, and it was lovely. Such a unique place, with the open kitchen right inside the door - you walk past the grill as you're seated. Wonderful smells from the charcoal grill, with the steaks on display in the glass-front fridge.
The decor is beautiful -elegant black and white...

My wife and I decided to make reservations for my 55th and were pretty excited since we have heard great things about it. We live a few blocks away and walk by this restaurant pretty much every day and saw that they had made some pretty dramatic renovations so we figured it was going to be a nice night out.... more
This was our first visit to the ‘new’ Black Angus. Décor was very nice. But the steak didn’t match up !
My son and I split the 1964 Original Caeser salad with a hint of curry in the dressing - excellent!
I ordered the 10oz NY strip, medium rare with some frites on the side.
The steak is delivered sitting...

Really enjoyed a night out at Black Angus Steak House. Passed it a million times but first time to actually eat there. Terrific service. The open grill is interesting. Not cheap but well worth it.
One of the best steaks that I have had in awhile. Steaks were juicy and full of flavor. Just would like the size to be bigger portions for the price point. The service was good and prompt. Only real negative was a foul odor when you enter and the bathroom. Overall good place and love to go again!
After working across the street from this place for 7 years, I finally met a co-worker there for dinner one night. It's a classic steakhouse -- I'm shocked to hear it's gone through a reno, because it screamed "Mad Men's Steak House!!" : classic caesar salad, French onion soup, escargots, garlic bread - great selection of single malt scotches -... more
One of the top steakhouses in the city. Reservations are a must in advance as it isnt a big restaurant. Very friendly staff, small bar area tho. Service is good but wouldn't call it great as it does tend to be a little slow when it gets busy.
They recently renovated into a modern, sleek looking resto altho the old...

We thought we would have been impressed with the "new" (newly renovated) Black Angus and so invited our friends to join us for a special celebration. Where to begin? Let me start by saying if you are one of their "regulars" you are definitely going to receive the best service, that was more then obvious!! This was our first time... more
My In-laws have been going since it opened. They are in their late 80s. No ramp for handicap people so we made our way up the stairs. (didn't they think to put a ramp going up the side as they just did a Reno ?). We were welcomed with open arms but when we went to our table it was... more
We've been visiting Black Angus for almost 20 years, and it was the first steak that all of our children first tasted. So, even though Rita has sold the business and it's been completely renovated (which looks very sleek, modern, yet cozy), the steaks never disappoints. It's still the best steak around!
This restaurant has been around for over 40 years and recently did a huge renovation. We had a birthday dinner last night for 6 family members and most were disappointed. The steak was the best but the salmon and chicken were awful. We paid $30 for a basket of cheesy garlic bread which was delicious but, come on! Everything on... more
My wife and I have been patrons of the Black Angus Steak House since about 1984. Rita the owner would always touch base with us about our daughters as they grew up and indeed my kids were introduced to this restaurant as the de facto standard of what we liked in a steakhouse. We saw waiters come and go, Peter,... more
We were thrilled tonight to get an excellent table at the newly renovated Black Angus. Long a neighborhood destination its old trappings were dated and might have turned off those who did not know the quality of the food. Wow factor of 10 plus for the new look and atmosphere. We also found the food better than ever. The 1964... more
Delightfully surprised to see the place has been renovated, very nice job and it seems much bigger then my last visit. This restaurant is top notch when it comes to food and service, you really get that personal touch from the staff here. It is very pricey but you get exactly what you pay for. The Caesar salad is fantastic,... more
The Angus has been a local etobicoke fine establishment since 1964 serving the finest steaks this city has to offer , and now after renovating this old eatry it looks as good as it tastes .These steaks are as good as they come and its not a chain , a privately owned with the same staff for decades ,now though... more
Yes, the restaurant is a little dated once you're inside. It doesn't look like the gem it is from the outside either but it's likely to keep the tourists away. The kitchen is for prep only, the food is cooked right at the front door over charcoals. The couple we went with love this restaurant for the rib steak and... more
I frequent great steak houses around North America. In Toronto, I am used to the amazing steaks and service at places such as Ruth's Chris and The Octagon. after reading the wonderful reviews for Black Angus , I decided to try it, The restaurant decor is terrible, it looks as though it has not been renovated in thirty years. we... more
We regulars rave about the Black Angus because we know its the best steak house in Toronto, and as much as we love it, we try not to brag about it too much in case it gets over run with newcomers.
Harry and his staff attend to all your needs very well and they make everyone feel like a VIP!...

I had the good fortune to be invited to a birthday dinner at the Black Angus last Saturday. I had been there a number of years ago and had forgotten how they truly are the masters at grilling a steak. We started with some garlic bread with cheese which arrived very hot and was quickly devoured by all.
The filet...

I have eaten at all the premier steak houses in Toronto and I always come back to this one.
The Black Angus is by far the best steak house in Toronto. They serve The best grade black angus beef steaks that are grilled on a charcoal grille. Not very many steak houses do that any more. Sizzling a steak is...

And nothing wrong with that! If it ain't broke, don't fix it -- Black Angus has taken that saying to heart, and I've got to believe that our experience in late 2012 was much the same as my parents' in 1972. The steak was just as you would hope -- excellent!
Visited the Black Angus with some friends over the weekend for what seems like the 100th time and came away satisfied as usual. Under the new ownership I was worried that things might change but my fears have been alleviated as the steak is still cooked to perfection and tender as ever.
I've been coming to the Angus for over...

I haven't been to Black Angus in years, so it was a nice treat to visit again. The service is always terrific, the ambiance relaxed, and the menu is very good. We started our meal with the Strubb's dill pickles that are always on the table. Some of our group had the cheesy delicious garlic bread that was so tempting... more
I came to Toronto in 1983 and it seems Black Angus has always been here. Living in the East end of the city, we would get to Black Angus occassionally on business and always enjoyed it. We moved to the West end a few years ago and started going to Black Angus on a more frequent basis. It just gets... more
Spent the weekend nearby Toronto Airport and was looking for a place to get steaks after a day at the track. Used TripAdvisor and thankfully wound up at Black Angus. It is a great steak house. Location is small and intimate, not like a giant Ruth's Chris. We dined late and still received great attention and excellent food. The waiter... more
This restaurant has been in the same place for years. Always seems to be busy busy with locals. Salads are typical old style lettuce tom and cucumber but The steaks are charcoal grilled to perfection. A few other items for the non beef crowd.
It may have been around for years as has the staff, decor and service and attitude. Steaks are typically steak house steaks. Salads seem to have been sitting around or at least pre made, and as another reviewer mentioned they offer you garlic bread or garlic bread with cheese but that's addtional cost of which they don't tell you! Especially if you are staying out at the airport, it is worth the trip. Its only a couple more miles, not all the way downtown. Do it, you won't regret it.
BA as we call it, has been an institution in Toronto for more than 30 years and counting.
It is a very traditional steak house with the usual dark interior, but the steak's are second to none. As someone who travels extensively and makes a point of checking out great steak houses such as Peter Luger's in NY, or Bern's...

If you like old school steak houses (dark panels, waiters that greet you with 'hey buddy' then the Angus can't be beat) The steaks are phenomenal - I've been here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The shrimp cocktail is also a fantastic appetizer. This place has been a Toronto landmark for a long time -... more
Forget about all those steakhouses downtown. Black Angus has been in business over 25 years and it is the best steak in the GTA. The 90z sirlion is the best and guess what? You do not need any butter to make it raste good. Try if out and you will not be disappointed.
The Black Angus is an Etobicoke institution that's been around since the early 1960's. It's your typical old school steakhouse, with a dark interiors and lighting to match. The steaks are charcoal broiled on a open grill, so you can watch your meal being cooked. Otherwise, there's not much else. The waiters - one can assume have also been here... more
The world's best steak house!
This place serves the best rib steak and lamb chops I have found so far in the Toronto area. Good size, beautifully marbled, cooked just as ordered every time I've been here over the past 9 years. I wish they'd take the foil... more
