Bistro B est le nouveau restaurant du Chef François Blais. Situé sur l'Avenue Cartier à Québec, ce Bistro se démarque par l'ambiance animée ainsi que par sa magnifique cuisine ouverte. Vous ne raterez rien des préparations car il est même possible de manger directement au comptoir de la cuisine. Le menu change quotidiennement selon les arrivages et les disponibilités.

Great recommendation from the locals
04 août 2014We were so happy to get this recommendation. It is not a scene for tourists and was worth the beautiful 25 minute walk out of the old city (you could take a cab if you wish). Food was fantastic and sit at the bar so you can watch them cook the meals directly in front of you! Staff was great... plus

I can't account for prior reviews that criticized the service for English customers.
We were received graciously and provided with a full explanation of the chalkboard menu written in French.. We were provided with tastes of the glasses of wine we ordered. I had venison; my wife had halibut....both were very good. We shared an very good desert .

Well situated on popular shopping street Avenue Cartier, this is a very nice, airy bistro with an open kitchen and good service.

We went as a group of 10, and the service was extremely good.
The food was quite tasty. The lobster bisque received rave reviews. The risotto was authentic extremely well prepared, in the creamy Venice style. The wine and spirit selection is sufficiently generous to meet most tastes.
It is a trendy bistro, with personality. A good time was had...

18 septembre 2013Great little grub joint just outside Old Quebec that we picked for lunch. Open style kitchen is interesting to watch. They prepare a very short menu 4-5 apps; 4-5 mains, but they are prepared well. Funky themed decor that is targetted torward a younger crowd. Nice place, we will return.

This is a neighborhood place with a growing reputation. The menu changing daily and everything is fresh and mostly locally sourced. The menu is on a chalkboard and limited, so perhaps some nights there might be some duds.

13 juillet 2013Completely enjoyable from start to finish. It is a must visit with locally sourced ingredients, excellent service, fun atmosphere and excellent service. Emily was wonderful and helpful with translating the rotating daily menu! It was outside the old city and in a great neighborhood for walking and after dinner drinks!

Freakin amazing food! Best find in Quebec City! Our server was very nice, explained the french chalkboard menu in detail. Very casual comfortable room with plenty of a/c. Nice large bar area.

This restaurant deserves to be in the top15 or top10 in Québec city.
I enjoy going there for lunch or brunch when I am in town. The menu of the day ( around 20$) always include a dish of fish, meat and vegetarian choice with and a couple of choice of appetizers.
Get a seat facing the kitchen to watch...

Best sweetbreads ever
23 janvier 2013Bistro B came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Hands down, one of the best gastropubs we’ve visited. The menu is limited, but this wasn’t a problem as everything we ordered was perfect. The sweetbreads were fantastic, the duck was cooked perfectly and drinks were perfectly balanced.

Bistro B is by far one of my favorite restaurant in Quebec City. The menu changes according to the fresh season arrivals. The atmosphere is great, you have to eat at the counter and watch the different cooks preparing your meal. They will always be happy to chat with you and let you taste some of their stuff.

There was a snowstorm on that evening.
We arrived ten (yes, ten) minutes late and they had given our table to others.
No one even bothered to give any apologies.
Totally unacceptable given the selection of fine restaurants in Quebec City.

This is a brand new restaurant, opened about 1 month ago. The chef used to be at Panache before he opened his own restaurant.
Open kitchen concept, a first in Québec city, the menu changes every day to offer the freshest cuisine there is.
The staff is young and friendly.
