the cobb salad here for lunch is something amazing. if you like cobb salad, and order it elsewhere, get one here and enjoy it for lunch and you'll come back wanting more.
Service was a bit slow due to lunch time rush hour. Also, the server got one of our orders wrong. However, the food was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Therefore I would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
Fine food, interesting menu selections, marred by pushy service, working us out of the room, despite many empty tables. Were the servers shifts about to end? Don't know.
My lunch entailed a lunch meeting. I chose Belgo because I knew there is always a good range of diverse, tasty items on the menu from which to choose. While there is an 'energy' to the restaurant which I like, there are also spots in the restaurant where you can carry on a good conversation where people are easily heard. It is easily accessible. The staff is courteous and professional.
We came here with about 12 people for a stagette dinner. Rob was our server and he was great. Everybody loved their food and drinks!
The lunch servers were overwhelmed with so many orders at one time and should not be surprised that office staff have ONE hour to order and eat before getting back to work.
We did have a seating of six and arrived on time at 11:45 but our server was surprised that we would have to go by one o'clock and said they would have to get the order into the kitchen as soon as possible due to the number...

Service was slow, food was very average, prices were high- wish I could have liked this place, but will not be back. Short and not so sweet review.
4 of us went for lunch. The drinks came out fairly fast, but the waitress did not come back much after that. We shared poutine to start. Had to flag down the waitress for a spoon to dish it onto our plates. A different server brought one of the main dishes and then took the poutine dish without asking if we were finished. We waited several minutes for the rest of the meals to arrive. We had to... more

I know that I will be getting a good quality-lunch experience when I book a business luch at Belgo.
We enjoyed a nice lunch at Belgo. Excellent beer selection of course, and good wines. Food was fine and service attentive. We would recommend for lunch for sure.
We always enjoy Belgian restaurants and frequently make a point of trying one when possible. We were visiting Calgary for a rock concert and made a reservation to ensure a spot. Good thing the place was packed and not a free table to be had. waiter got all confused (forgot the salad, wrong steak). food bland, good dessert (cremee brulee). It is an ok place, good to go with friends for a casual meal. Personally I will not repeat.
Horrible experience. We booked a group breakfast a couple of days in advance. The first time any of us were there for breakfast. Returned with coffee, no spoons, not enough sugar & cream. Same server took our orders. Original hostess and a... more
Went to Belgo for lunch with an old friend. Service was great, food was quick and good. Will go back again.
Looks like the service improved a lot. The food was always very good. This is why I keep coming back.
We ordered the wedge salad and weren't asked how we wanted our meat cooked ( steak that came wih it) it came out pretty much rare and ended up
Sending it back to be cooked a lot more.
There were not enough servers. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and dunner was very late.
Still to this day, out of all downtown hot spots Belgo offers the best Old Fashioned.
Who would have guessed that Calgary had such a great downtown eatery so close to shops and businesses and a wonderful spot to meet friends for lunch anytime. The menu is versatile and modern with great choices for everyone.
I've had lunch here a few times - the location is great and normally the food is excellent however it appears Belgo may be a victim of it's success. The food was below average - clearly too long on the wait table and bordering on cold, and it was nearly an hour before we received our food.I was quite disappointed, especially having taken a guest and promoting the restaurant pretty energetically.
Our group of ten people had a very nice, quiet breakfast at Belgo. The service was accurate and friendly; and the food was good. I would recommend for breakfast if you haven't tried it yet!
I booked this restaurant for a corporate lunch and although the food was excellent the service was not as great. Didn't get the correct drink initially and three people didn't get their appetizers. Had to ask for them after the lunch.
I bring people from all over in to dine here. I like the atmosphere and the staff are awesome!
We celebrated my daughter's 18th Birthday with our family at your restaurant. It was a memorable fantastic time! Thank you to all!
Very poor service by waitress, when we complained to management, they were quick to respond and apologise, but this is not the first time we have had poor service by waitresses there. They get busy and forget about you.
Was super excited to try this place, but will not return. Had a reservation, but had to move to three tables because none of the tables were clean or set. Food was ok. Burger was dry and not a lot of flavour. Restaurant cleared out by 7 PM on a Friday night\u2026not a good sign!
The food is always good hear, I have found the service to be pretty slow here compared to other similar restaurants in the vicinity.
Probably one of the best buffets I've ever had, went there for mothers day. Thank goodness for the good food because the waitress we had was horrible, she couldn't hang around to even get the whole tables drink orders....which was only 5 people....this happened literally everytime.
Took my mother for brunch here. They had paper cups for coffee and brown paper on the tables. I was embarrassed to take my mum there- paper cups! Brunch was average- your only option was a buffet. It really seemed like they cut a lot of corners to speed things up. Things like covering the pancakes with cheap chocolate sauce instead of offering syrup. Belgo has a surprisingly casual atmosphere; half pub and upper half is (boring, basic) restaurant. It seems like a "suit pub". For a business lunch, not the best place, unless you need that much noise to fill up the conversation. I think the waitress' need new outfits.
If you want loud, then go there, if you want a cool place to hang with the guys after work, then definitely go there.
I've dined for lunch a few times at Bellgo. The location is convenient and the food is usually good. I wasn't that impressed with my meal this week but would dine there again. The food was just adequate. I wasn't left saying "boy that was good". I had a salad and while I requested the meal size portion, what I received was more like an appetizer. I'm not really complaining, just wasn't impressed.
The food was not the best and the selection pretty poor. The red wine list by the glass only included canadian and US wines, only one Argentinian Malbec, which they were out of. When we asked waitress about it, she just shrug her shoulders. I would expect more from a restaurant that is in that price range... more
Overall ambience good, nice and trendy, good list of beers and wine, service good, the food, however, was a little underwhelming. Not bad for the price mind you, but food not up to snuff with expectations given the rest of the place. If you want a place to hang out downtown and have a few glasses of wine or some good beers, yup.
I sent 8 people to your restaurant this week for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed the food. The main reasons that I chose this restaurant are that it is close to work and the big reason was that you are not blasting your music especially early in the morning. I find it very difficult to find a restaurant that is quiet enough so you can talk to people and actually be able to hear each other.
Tks Anne
We had the lunch special and the appetizer which was a salad roll was amazing, very tasty. For the main we both had the pasta and prawns..that was tasteless and dripping in oil, we werent as happy with that dish.
The other one that was a bit frustrating is that they do not take debit. Its credit card or cash only.
We had a business lunch at Belgo. At the end of the lunch, the waiter picked up the manager's credit card and disappeared from view. The manager had no way of knowing if his credit card was secure at that time.
The waiter was terrific but in this day of fraud, you never know who has tampered with the device or how secure your credit information is when your card disappears from your view. This...

I've tried Belgo multiple times and everything is consistently just OK - "meh" sums it up. We had the lunch special (Gyros) and soup, and while the chowder was fairly good, the gyro was really lacking in much flavour to balance or support the blackened chicken. A popular place, I would recommend a reservation for lunch. Plenty of seating available and they can accommodate large groups. They're open early and have a very nice breakfast menu too.
Upon arrival we were sent to the back corner. Once we showed our gift card, the waitress had no idea what is was. I think that when the rudeness set in. Knowing she wasn't going to be making any money tonight.
We had received a gift card to the restaurant and it was pre-set menu. When we arrived the gift...

I find this place very underwhelming. The menu is confused - all over the place and the food is okay. Nothing we have had was great - all just "okay." We did like the mussels though. Not planning on going back again any time soon.
Poutine was amazing. We had it w their mushrooms and it was the best blend of a flavorful sauce that wasn't too salty, fries that were well cooked and slightly crunchy and a huge assortment of great beers to wash it down to gear you up for the next bite. Their seafood selection was well prepared and definitely take a look at their chef's choices as they're a great deal.
Good choices on the menu. They are serious about the "Brasserie" theme and prepare lamb and seafood particularly well. Great choice of beers on tap plus some well selected wines. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Good location, interesting interior with good choice of tables depending on whether you want formal, informal or people-watching! Well run and well managed.
Went in for breakfast and the place was deserted except for two other tables.
I stood in the doorway until a waitress came close enough I asked if I should seat myself. She asked, "for how many", I said "one" and she turned and walked away without a word. Not sure if I should follow so i just stood there...
