Bateau de Nuit is my favorite place in Québec, but it's not for everyone.
There's no sign outside, but it's atop the restaurant Angkor Siemreap. You enter to the left, go up the stairs, and then through the door on the right. You'd think it was someone's apartment except for the beer and music posters in the hallway.
Once inside it's quite divey. There's a nautical theme, and there's rock...

Low profile, almost hidden entrance, and a small place. Decorated with wood and themed like the interior of a ship with related artifacts, yet simplistic and heteroclite, but still charming. Was there a busy saturday night and it's easily heavily packed. The mood are metal heads, metal music, and sexy beards, so we felt right at home. The locals were open minded and pretty friendly. 8 different... plus
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
The barman was extremely friendly and accomodated us very well. He carefully explained our choices, was very polite and very helpful and nice.
The ambiance is awesome, the music is great, and you're sure to have a sweet time.
The place isn't very big, so actually, please don't go there ! We'd like to keep it to ourselves ;)
Please don't go here and ruin such a wonderful hide away place. Excellent selection of local microbreweries and a bar keep who knows his beers. Spend excellent evening meeting charming locals and drinking great beers.
Best bar in Quebec City for any beer enthusiastic !
They've got a wide and always changing selection of local microbrewery beers everyday.
As a local, this is hands down my favorite place to hang out.
Wow this place is great. To be honest it is a bit divey but that is part of it's charm. Heavy Metal and Quebec beer! The staff and the patrons were heavily tattooed up with death metal shirts but were amazingly friendly, and knowledgeable. Great selection of Quebecois beer. Better than any bar I have been to in the. province. Lot's of Belgian beers to. Lambic was available. I would highly... plus
Excellent choix de bières, lundi soir Impro à ne pas manquer
Yes, yes, yes. A beer drinker's heaven. This bar is well worth finding. The employees are very friendly, generous, and know and love beer very well. I had such a good time that I drank some beers, went out for dinner, then went back for more beers. I'll certainly visit again the next time I'm in town.
They complimented me on my poor French, and then listened to me rave in English as I drank my...

Incredible place in Quebec City, especially after you've been stuck in the touristry Old Port for a couple of days!
Went on a Tuesday night and it was full, but not crowded. Maybe 20 people or so, and we grabbed a table easily. Taplist was full of small QC micro-breweries across a range of styles. Bartender/owner Sebastian was EXTREMELY nice and helpful, he loves and knows his beer. Our only...

8 bieres en fut tout le temps ainsi que plusieurs bouteilles de bieres importees Belge. Les mercredi IPA ne sont pas a manquer aussi.
Excellent choix de bières en fut et en bouteille (importation privée). Serveurs sympatiques. Décor rigolo (thème du bateau).
Very cool place, nicely decorated. I like the atmosphere, very quiet place as it is not very crowded (10 people max.). The owner/bartender is very friendly without being intrusive either. Selection is as good as it gets for Quebec city with 8 rotating taps of Quebec micros at all times with some simili exclusive offerings, they had Charlevoix Saison multigrain and Triple du St-Pub which were... plus
Well we tried to find this place without using a street address which was clearly a mistake. Directions from 5 different people, a hand drawn map, finally going on google street view and two days later we found the place. We are idiots. Well worth the effort though. The best bar that I've been to in Quebec City. Feels like you're in a friends unfinished basement in high school while set adrift... plus
Small bar above a restaurant on St-Jean street in downtown Quebec City. 10 minute walk from the Old City.
The place has a nautical-theme going on and it's definitely on the dark and dingy side. It's mostly a student hang-out with bands playing occasionally in a corner of the room.
Several taps with a variety of Quebec microbrews and a large selection of bottles. They also privately import...
